Ball Hill: Coventry Walking Tour

Ball Hill is just outside the ring road in the Stoke area of Coventry. As such it is a popular location for Coventry University students being just a short walk from many of the campus buildings. Moreover, this area contains many Asian, Middle Eastern and Afro-Caribbean food shops and eateries. This main road, Walsgrave Road, takes you out of Coventry City Centre towards the main hospital and the M69 to Leicester and from there, the M1 and M6 motorways.
This walk goes in the opposite direction starting at Briton Road and walking down Walsgrave Road past the many local shops and the Old Ball Hotel (after which it is believed Ball Hill is named), under the A444 (Jimmy Hill Way) and finishing outside Gosford Green Park. The ending point is across the road from Far Gosford Street and very close to the Coventry University campus.

My sister used to live in Ball Hill, many years back. I have many great memories from that time. A great shopping area & the people are very friendly too, I find.

Thank you for the tour. Ball Hill is the very first shopping area I can remember from my very early years accompanying my mother on many a trip from Torcross Ave.
