Whether you're a millennial, zoomer, boomer, etc. there will be people who will always have something negative to say about you or disaprove of your appearance. Whether i had long hair, shaggy hair, short hair combed to the side, shaved head, facial hair, no facial hair, someone has always said something negative about it at least once.
Ironicall, i pretty much agree with everything this guy is saying, but i think when guys point out the percieved flaws of the looks of other guys, it's about a desire to feel superior in some sense. The underlying logic is "I don't look like you, someone i perceive as lesser than based off of physical characteristics, some which you have no control over, therefore i am better than you." You see tall men (not all) for example have this mentality towards shorter men and will down play the accomplishments of a shorter man. "Yeah, well, at least I'm tall, brah." I think this mindset stems from a secret insecurity and/or the desire to bring other men down as a low hanging ego boost because most people don't feel good about themselves unless they can compare others as lesser than them. Of course if there is a secret or subconscious insecurity from men like this, it's not like they'd ever admit it if they're aware of it as they fear it would make them look weak and that's the last thing a man wants to be perceived as, man's greatest fear, so they have to play the condescending Andrew Tate act to hide their insecurity, just like the Wizard of Oz being a little old man hiding behind this big, threatening Zordan-like projection, so who's really being insencere here? That's why often when we point a finger at someone, we have three pointing back and the advice and criticisms we have of others are often the advice and criticisms we need to apply to ourselves, but that requires introspection, self awareness and honesty with the self.
"You can please some people some of the time, but you can't please all people all the time." -Abraham Lincoln
So just be yourself because no matter what you do or look like, someone is gonna hate on you or make commentary. You can cure frickin' cancer and someone somewhere for some reason will criticize you for it. It is what it is. Best you can do is accept this is how the world and people are like.

While it is cringe, it isn't as nearly as cringe as gen Z's obsession with looksmaxxing or "escaping the matrix and becoming rich" wanna be's. What's up with this narcissism culture, it's always about looks/money, other people admiring you for simply existing, mogging and showing how much better you have it. Guys really get rejected by a girl once and make it their whole personality how the world only cares about looks and how unfair it is and their life goal is to get as much laid as possible, by going on a lone sigma male villain arc and then wonder why they have no friends or genuine connections. Don't get me started on "mogging", just pure antisocial behaviour. People used to sacrifice themselves for the greater good of their communities, for other people but now the only thing that matters to them is "ME". "I have to mog and be better than others!", "I have to be as rich as possible to look down on brokies!", "I have to have the highest body count to show how much of a Chad I am!" Muh EGO and entitledness to have everything in the world. Same with self-improvement and hustling. Also who tf cares about Chico or Sean O'pry? Why do people worship them like Gods? What noble things have they done, other than simply being born lucky?

this video is unrelatable. Ur "millennials" look doesnt match minds and that's clearly because we hang around different people/groups. A video like this is impossible to do.
For example: My view of a "millennial" is someone who grew up in the trend of wearing over-grown jeans, gigantic t-shirts and listening to early 2000s raps with big headphones on their heads........and now they look like they still wanna do that but with just sleeker clothing with todays tech.
Im a very confident millennials are not "lookmaxxing" like "Gen z" and I dont even think "Gen Z" people started these "lookmaxxing, brain rot, whatever modern trends" .......i think it was the younger gen under gen Z who started that.
Gen Z are just the gen that grew up with the tech that was already their but not fully and they are the same gen that experience a little bit of the 90s culture and there the same generation that literally cant afford anything because boomer sellers are making everything expensive and unaffordable and those same boomers opened a can of worms in the gov and now our society has been posined with werido stuff eversince and it just got worse and worse.

Good video! As a millennial myself I’ll walk ya through the beard thing. In the early 2000’s everyone was clean shaven and had very thin eyebrows. Hair on the face was very out of style. Then the film ‘300’ came out in 2006, about ripped Spartans with six pack abs and beards fighting their enemies. The film was a big hit and some guys started growing out beards. Then in 2010 the Portland “hipster” look came in style. Which was full beard and flannel like how a lumberjack looks. But a lot of guys can’t grow full thick beards but just let them go anyways. That’s the history as I remember regarding millennials and beards.

    Here's why we have beards:
Our fathers were all clean shaven, because that was in the style at the time (and professional work culture). Because clean shaven was what "old people" did, beards became cool (btw less shaving = good for face). Now your generation is looking at ours going "you look stupid with facial hair" and then go clean shaven.
If you look at trends, fashion circles back around. Something is cool, then old people ruin it and it's not cool, then 30 years later it's cool again.

Millennials doing something to me seems more about "being a 30 something year old in 2024" than about "being a millennial". Same goes with gen Alpha. It's kids doing kids stuff, and if we time warped 10 years old from 1980 to the present day, it probably wouldn't take too long until they too were up to some dumb sh*t involving social media. Kids are dumb, teenagers clueless and overconfident, young adults are pretentious and insincere.

First I really like your essay. As a 40+ millennial, I remember when “ironic” entered the mainstream lexicon. It was by rich hipsters who were doing anything and everything to be cool. But it wasn’t genuine. It was a half assed attempt at taking the piss out of whatever they were talking about. Overtime, it turned into brands and consumerism. The irony is, “ironic” was not even being used properly. We are like parrots with a dictionary. Children in the family wardrobe. No sense of identity or feet to plant on the ground.
I really think you nailed the insincerity. If I might add, shallow and not genuine.
