Day 12 of our Marella Discovery American Cruise 2023 - Miami

- Today we are in the beautiful city of Miami. What an amazing place! This morning we have an excursion booked to South Beach. All we can say is how stunning is Miami beach! That along with the beautiful architecture! This city has such an amazing vibe and we love it! We had such a lovely time exploring including going past the house of Versace as well as the building where the film The Birdcage was filmed. We were then picked up for a tour around Miami before heading back to the ship. Too soon it was time to sail back out of Miami. Such an iconic sail out and one not to be missed! It certainly did not disappoint! Off to Fort Lauderdale, our last stop. Cannot believe we are going home soon!

Hello mate. We hope you had a brilliant second week and an amazing time in New York. Were you on board when the ship had an engine problem? We are on the Marella Explorer 2 in September cruising around Croatia. Hopefully see you on a cruise soon. Not sure about the silent disco though lol 😂
We certainly did have a brilliant second week thanks. No incidents with engine to report luckily. We did Adriatic Delights last July and loved it. Explorer 2 is Carole's favourite Marella ship - probably because of the Flutes Prosecco bar 🥂. We are sure you and Adam will really enjoy it. You should definitely go Miami is so super expensive. I think we preferred Fort Lauderdale 👍

Fisher Island was on the other side of the ship when leaving Miami!
Again, that is an awkward itinerary. Ft Lauderdale could have been an excursion from Miami. Overnight in Miami should have been fabulous!
PS I prefer Ft Lauderdale Beach.
Thank you. Fort Lauderdale was a last minute change originally we should have been going to Turks and Caicos, and then got changed to Bimini and finally we ended up going to Fort Lauderdale. We didn’t mind as Lauderdale is absolutely beautiful 👍

Ft.lauderdale beach V Miami Beach..preferred Ft. Lauderdale or as locals know it as Lickerdale. A total different vibe, generally 80% male. Not far away is Los Olas Boulevard, good places to eat and drink but fairly expensive, great to people watch too. No where nearly as rainbow flag friendly since the city fathers ( ultra conservative took over city council )
Totally agree we preferred Lauderdale to Miami definitely going back 👍
