Screamed for him, cheered for him, but today I cried for him. Thanks Ronde
the 2002 Tampa Bay Buccaneers had Warren Sapp, Derrick Brooks, Jon Lynch and Ronde Barber. that's 4 Hall of Famers on their defense. wow
I mean sapp to me was fringe I would have said yes but lower tier like take 10 years and no one else or that group they were never that great. That’s me personally.
@@ZOMBIE_STOMP I’m saying that’s not 4 hof players. And that team was mightily lucky they had a great playoff run for sure but to say all those guys are hof ers is crazy especially lynch he doesn’t doesn’t to be there at all
@@wolfpacsyxx you must not have been around to watch and know football during the early 2000s this team and roster nearly played in two super bowls. This player has earned everything he was given in this league the other HOFers on that defense were no doubters so. Good luck with your opinion that is not factual
@@seancramer1521 I did watch them they were great for a few years but only sapp has the credentials for hof and even then maybe 5th ballot I mean the guy ended up as a defensive liability couldn’t even stop the run left his teammates out to dry
Damn I almost forgot how good of a player rende Barber really was. The dude was legit consistently a top five corner of his time in era.3 of the top 10 CBs of all time are literally in the same hall of fame is amazing
Can we just recognize how insane it is that Monte Kiffin basically invented 2 new defenses? Based on 2 players. Derrick Brooks he built tampa 2 on. And nickel position around Rondé. If a coordinator should be in the hall it’s that guy
Edit: ADD SIMEON RICE! 21st all time in sacks!
One day......... he will be..... 50 years from now I guarantee this Bucs D will get the credit and recognition it truly deserves. I hope I'm around to see it! ..... LFG!
Simeon Rice was one of the best right defensive ends in what is probably the greatest era of left tackles in history. He's a hall of famer in my book.
The man that put the nickel corner on the map. Well deserved 👏
Ronde has a good story behind his accomplishments Tampa Bay as a Buccaneer. He didn't start very impressive but like a good American Athlete he WORKED HARD for his achievements and he did. Congratulations Brother you deserve it.🏈
I played football with the Barbers from sandlot thru high school, all to say from that time till now, Rhonde and Tiki were and are class act gentlemen, a reflection of the manner in which their mother raised them up…..
Hell yeah, what a speech!! Ronde Barber was my favorite Super Bowl Buccaneer. I even got a custom jersey made after his 10 interception 2001 season!
Ronde's a baad man!!!
The first player I really started being a fan of, and an absolute legend.
One of my fav speeches since Curtis Martin. I love it when the underdogs make it to the top. Congrats Ronde
Now that defense needs Simeon rice and it’s complete. 122 sacks is HOF plain and simple
No it is not, one stat doesn't make you a HOF player. He was a very good player no doubt, but he is not HOF worthy. The HOF should be reserved for those players whose name HAS to be mentioned when you talk professional football. Simeon Rice is not one of those names.
@@biggtastee2401 sacks is literally the main stat of an edge rusher what’re you on about
I gotta say, I love where Ronde's mind was when he was playing. Especially with the legends he was surrounded with, it almost seems like there was a certain level of pressure to be great. High personal standards is a tough habit to acquire and maintain...you gotta respect people who try to be their best, 'cause they're competing against themselves more than any opponent
So proud of you, Ronde!
That combination of ballhawk + physicality sustained at a high level is rare, and you brought it weekly for so long.
Glad you’ve finally achieved this high honor that you 100% deserve ✊
Thanks for the great experiences and memories!
Much Deserved!!!! #GoBucs
Allright, FANTASTIC SPEECH & A man with a LOT OF CLASS. A MAN with a GREAT FAMILY & many many friends. All your HARD WORK PAID OFF. So CONGRADULATIONS to you SIR, & YOUR ENTIRE FAMILY. I WISH YOU NOTHING BUT LIFE'S VERY BEST IN YOUR YEARS AHEAD. Also LOVED the GOD BLESS AMERICA at the end. We are ALL SO BLESSED to live in this GREAT COUNTRY. ( it's not perfect, but the best place there still is.) & to have the NFL to entertain us all these years. Enjoyed watching you play. MUCH RESPECT.
I remember scrimmaging Cave Spring in High School. It was "Barber twins this...and Barber twins that." When I first saw them I was not impressed. Yes, They were fast but they were very small. I played tight end for the opposing team. My play was called. The Dump pass! As I came off the line, the linebackers blitzed and I was wide open. I caught the ball, turned and all I saw was the top of a black helmet. Sometime later, as I sat on the bench, I realized what day it was, then where I was, then what had happened. Ronde, you gave me my first and last concussion and a great career as a spectator. I've always been a respectful fan of the Barber twins. Congratulations on the HOF!
🎉 finally ! T. B 🐐 &class act!
I’m 23, and growing up i would read him and tiki’s sports books for kids. Literally grew up on them and read every single one. Crazy going from that (and ronde still playing until I was 12) to seeing him make the HOF. He was a huge part of my childhood, outside of football especially.
Love ronde overdue the man is responsible for the greatest moment in sports with the int in the nfl championship game
One of the best
Ronde Barber, darn good football player 💯
And it’s crazy because , the bucs have 4 players from their 90s squad, ALONE, in the hall. Sheesh.
Starting with Mr. Selmon, Bucs have had some great players on D.
Again, the only other all-time great defense that has as many players as them in the Hall is the Steel Curtain.
he was one of my favorites, i remember him picking off donavan mcnabb in the 2002 NFC championship game
He was good for so long .... And his longevity aside, you forget his greatness.
Wahoowa, Ronde! Congratulations!
Bravo !!! He was certainly great and a part of a great team!!!!!
Who is Ronde Barber? To the blind, he is the light. To the hungry, he is the bread. To the sick, he is the cure. To the lonely, he is the company. To the sad, he is the joy. To the prisoner, he is the freedom. To the poor, he is the treasure. For me, he is everything.
one of the best to do it ... salute ronde
WAHOOWA! I had the privilege of watching him play when I was at UVA and was awesome to see him improve and thrive in the NFL. Classy dude. Well deserved honor.
I love Ronde..never met him..but Mr. Brooks I have...one of the nicest person you will ever meet,..Ronde...his speech was beautiful...
Well deserved!! Very smart player. If his brother Tiki wouldn’t retire so early, he would have great chance being in Canton.
He was and is a part of the Buccaneers and the Tampa Bay Area.
About time. Been waiting for years to watch this video. Greatest Buc of all time. Tears
I’m pretty sure every man would say the same thing about their mom that he did. 🙏🏾💯💯
Congratulations Ronde Barber! I love the 2 brothers.
Legend
Let's go Ronde got in
Class act!! Well deserved!!
Finally! Well done Ronde 👍🏼
LUV YEW RONDE 🥲
What a well spoken "MAN"💪 Congrats RONDE❤
Mr Barber should run for president . We have nothing to lose
Let’s not forget that he never missed a game from 1998-2012!
Also, Bruce Arians was never Barber’s Coach.
Na and the barber twins dad was college roommates B.A. use to babysit them when the were children
Watched it that night! I remember the eagles game! True legend and thank you as a fan sir.
Congratulations Ronde!
Great guys
Roanoke VA be proud
His interception at Veteran's Stadium was the greatest play in Buccaneer history.
Great speech from Ronde
We need mike alstott in the hall of fame
@@bigdonkerbren5325 ...but Mike is not a FB. He saw himself as a RB, played that way too. He went to Purdue instead of UM because, Jimmy Johnson wanted Mike to be a fullback.
@@bigdonkerbren5325 Oh dude....no....just no. (He was terrific btw but NOT the best).
We love ya Ronde, an icon of Tampa
He did it the right way
Well if tiki ever gets in they won't need another statue lol
@@xenofanallen3218 im surprised rande got in honestly, i dont remember him being all that great. he was great obviously, but i never thought of him as a future hall of famer.
@@trope5105 Pull up some of his clips he could tackle and cover that is hard to do in the slot position
@@ericjones6651 I remember him well, I'm 39, an the most memorable thing about him, imo, was him n tiki being twins. Maybe I'll check his stats, but I can think of 100 other real legend that deserve to go in before this dude.
Congrats and Go Bucs!!
Like the nod to Tiki!! Tiki should be in the HOF 🎯
All 4 guys know Simeon Rice should be there with them, they've been saying it for years
A true Buccaneers about time number 20 Super Bowl champ Tampa FL
TJ houshmandzadeh is somewhere hating right now .
extremely rare talented speaker
#GOBUCS
Mike tomlin's that guy even as a DB coach he may ronde Hall of Famer
They look just alike 🤯
Should've been first ballot, but its better late than never! Congrats, #363
Ronde shoulda been in Hall of Fame a grip ago
Ronde and Tiki gets their own bust win the Hall of Fame! 🤣
As a cowboys fan I love how he took shots at Philly fans 😆
2002 Bucs: Sapp, Brooks, Barber, Lynch, Rice, DC Monte Kiffin, and DB Coach Mike Tomlin....
I was looking for the salty eagles fans but i couldn't find any
You're the best ronde👍
If Tiki would have kept playing, he would have been in with his brother. He had the stats.
Too much me me me, pride, and no thanks or praise at all for his Creator who gave him the life, body, and talent.
"Pride goes before a fall!" - The Bible
So if Tiki makes it eventually will they just make a mold and copy the bronze bust?
🐐 of cornerbacks. No question.
This is when football was football. You was going to get hit and someone was going to get hurt.
Congratulations Ronda, but how is Eric Allen still waiting? 54 career INTs.
The Bucs had to figure out how to use him. He not a Revis where u ask him to sit on th3 boundary n shut down the #1 WR. U put him in the slot he becomes a HOF for sure
No love for Jon Gruden...I know it's controversial but still a little surprising
To understand the influence that Mike Tomlin had on Ronde is to understand why Mike Tomlin is still one of the best coaches in the NFL
Locker room anthem for the 💩 burgh Kneelers! Never forget what a traitor he is and made his Gold ⭐ war hero apologize for standing for the flag and anthem! What a despicable excuse for a human being and American! He's free to leave if making millions coaching a game doesn't suit him!
Good for him but where the hell is Charles Tillman? Crazy
@@gregd6706 Tillman 80 ish less games, 9 less ints, 3 less tds, 300 less tackles, 29 more forced fumbles. Idk. Basically the same except Tillmans ff. Which changed the game. HOF.
He related to tiki barber
No mention of John Gruden over a leaked personal email??
the better barber?
You better say it Ronde. He told his wife that "she is the foundation for which he stands".
Wow! That was beautiful and deep!
He better change that to Jesus, because being in the NFL Hall of Fame doesn't save your soul.
I agree with Deion Sanders. There are guys getting inducted that were great, but not 'game changing'. The HOF should be reserved for players that forced the game to change because they played in it. Players whose name HAVE to be mentioned when you talk about professional football. There are a lot of great players who did great things in the league, but they aren't players that literally changed how the game was played because of them.
I wonder if Tiki is jealous? Because he's never going lol
Simeon rice is next
why is Eli Manning's football for sale on here? Throwing shade to Tiki
My favorite play to this day is Ronde Barber intercepting Donovan McNabb for a pick-6 to send the 2002 Buccaneers to their very first Super Bowl.
Go Ronde go!! 🏈 🏴☠️
What about me I delivered your water 💦 lol
Jon Lynch got in before him and Jon stayed getting beat and missing tackles
This is a smack to Lester Hayes face. Smh🤦🏻♂️
Lmao the stats nor the overall body of work is comparable. Not to mention that ass whooping y’all got in 03. He got a ring
@@seancramer1521 Lester Hayes has 2 rings. So what are u saying. 1 of the kings of bump and run.
I think Barber getting into the hall is not a slap I'm the face . You can still be a great player without being a shutdown HOF. Ronde proved playing CB can look many different fractions.
@michaelwashington4408 not saying he doesn't deserve to be in the hall of fame. Great player but Lester Hayes should of been in there
That's Tiki's bust
His brother tiki Barber? No. His twin brother tiki Barber. (Twin pet peeve)
I hope that his brother Tiki "Sneaky" Batber NEVER gets into the Hall of Fame
Because he and his twin both made the league, they made a big deal out of it. But watching him play several times I was never too terribly impressed. What was he like All Pro twice? YES, IT'S AMAZING TO MAKE IT TO THE NFL. What's next, Bob Uecker making it to Cooperstown?? ("Front row!")
OK, I was thinking he was the running back, Tiki. (Who really wasn't that special.) Ronde was first team All-Pro, and had a 16-year career. I stand corrected.
WTF??? SERIOUSLY??? The only CORNERBACK in NFL HISTORY to have 1044 solo tackles, 88 tackles for loss, 28 QB sacks and 47 interceptions. Also had 197 passes defended, 8 defensive touchdowns and 923 interception return yards. Pull me up some better stats bro if you can and tell me who is more deserving. You CANNOT.
@@gregd6706 Here's my reply, so you're wrong. If you'd read my second comment in this thread, I did correct myself. I confused Tiki with Ronde. You have to admit they are somewhat similar.
Well deserved. 🫡🤝🏽
You could tell he wanted to be a 49ers his entire career. But only very few special players can play for that team
Meh, the HOF is watered down and average players get in,.. mediocre and poorly educated..
Love Ronde Barber. He’s the reason teams are always looking for great slot corners. He changed the game. Very deserving HoF’er
how is he in the HOF and not patrick willis??????? these voters r idiots
Tru he made the slot corner important...
Defensive coordinators have Barber to thank for having a template for how to use their nickelbacks, but there probably won't be another NB like him.
