But the version of Watch Your Step is possibly the greatest thing I have ever seen.

Unfortunately one of the best parts is missing at 27:56. The "when your kicking the car chrome" line is missing (EC makes a glare backwards after the line) . This is one is poor quality but complete.

Wow this was Feb 3rd '81. I had just seen Elvis with Squeeze opening at the Palladium in NYC on Jan. 31st and Feb 1st. Front row center the first night. Great night. Incredible show!!!

Can we bring back that Coalition thing to deal with Reality TV? :)
But seriously, Synder makes a good point that censorship can get carried away. And I'm so glad he called the guy out on not even wanting to see marital sex on TV. That's absurd.

Tom Snyder was a master at one-on-one interviews. He got things out of people in that midnight hour, where you could HEAR the lint floating in the air, that you other hosts couldn't. Quiet, introspective, open dialogue, where the guest was the star, not the interviewer. Then, for a BRIEF time thankfully, they brought in a damn studio audience. Now it's gags & laffs & double entendres to a third party & 💩, and you can forget about learning something from and about the guest. Thank GOD they sent that stupid audience BACK to Happy Days.
    Did that sound bitchy?

The Happy Days TV show was for kids. The sad thing is that grown adults who actually vote believed these kids like Fonzi were now real and grown adults.

  • @BaronKimball

I could comment on almost every moment of this thing, it is so comically backward. Tom Snyder imagined and more imoportantly some TV executive imagined him as a cross between Carson and Donahue, and he somehow fails to be either while still being compelling.
