Besides those kits there was a Testors "Boyds Hauler" in 1:24 scale. That hood looks great. Some suggestions would be interior bench seats and ground effects that a company called "LUND" once sold. Thanks for the exposure of these pick-up kits. Cheers
I REALLY hope Round2 does the Sportside. Always loved the look of those!
I built so many of these SS454s, I was huge into sport trucks. Kinda want to build another for old times sake. I loved the GMC grille in the dually kits too.
I have both of these trucks and the long bed also. I would love to have a couple of those hoods. Hope to see lhem soon.
I will definitely try to get some of those hoods when they come available, but the Chassis idea is very cool too also the firewall
The easy build is awesome for a beginner builder who's never built one getting a couple for my grandkids to see what they come up with
Great! I was looking for something like this showing how the old full detail kit compared to the new one. AMT had also done a 1996 Tahoe in this same Snap Fast Plus series which I bought back when it was first released in 1996/97 - would love to see that one reissued now that this short body 1500 and the Duallie are back.
Very cool! That hood should be a hot seller. Thanks for sharing.
Great review Luka. The hood with the scope looks awesome. Thanks, Ron
Thanks
I also keep debating if I want to chop the top on the step side.
Another model kit bashing thing back then was to add the step side bed to the 1972 long bed truck. It was amazing how it all blended together. 👍👍
I would love some new stuff for the truck. I will get a hood for mine.
This is on my wishlist. I want to make the Van Halen truck by boyd Coddington. And a 454 SS truck.😊
I’m VERY grateful you did this video, because I wondered this myself.
Excellent job bid!! Much needed info! Thanks!
That's how I roll, Mark. Now "Build A Model Car!"🤣
Awesome video. I would love to get a hood and yes do some other parts .
The resin parts you plan to
make would be great. I like the curbside kit, but more detail through additional parts would really be great. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the comparison.
You bet!
I have the yellow step side truck. NOW I'm going to wait till you release the outlaw hood. Can't wait.👍👍👍👍
I’m seriously thinking of combining the new kit and the dually kit to make an extended cab short bed like the ‘93 I used to have.
A 99-2000 Escalade/Denali front end conversion would be great to have to put on one of these kits.
I drove a 454 ss once. Tons of torque
Yep, me too.
Hopefully Round2 re-pops the kit again with the engine parts and suspension parts like the 454SS one.
Great idears, my friend, and that hood looks sweet! I'm definitely interested in seeing what other bits and parts you come out with! Im fortunate that a couple of years ago, I picked up a couple (each) of the 454SS and the step side kits nib sealed for a song. I've got 1 of the new easy build kits (and plans for it), i need to grab a couple more 😁 Great video, brother 😊✌️
Thanks 👍p
i'll be buying a couple of the hoods. I have one of the snap fast plus kits that had the hood with the scoop, but i'm afraid to use it because that kit is so damn expensive. I would definitely be interested in the chassis parts too!
My hood comes from that kit. But I've added some touches to it that improved it. So it's not exactly the same. You will be happy with it.
The 454 will work in the chevy dually kit that came out
Just watched this video I am doing the 454ss c1500 I am interested in the outlaw cowl hood
Great video. 😊 Hope they make the long bed, sportside, crew cab and the Suburban would be great maybe you can do resin for to make this trucks. 😊
That would be cool!
One thing that I've been seeing is, more advanced kits coming out. Skill 3-5 so maybe they will have it in the advanced kits. I think this is great that they are doing this now. 👍
I was excited when Round 2 announced the new Silverado. I'll get one if they show up at Hobby Lobby for 40% off. These kits should be $15.00 tops.
Good comparison. I’m in for a couple of those hoods. Next meeting I’ll take you a few of the custom pieces we offer for these. 😎
What I've got to get from you is that 68 GTO grill. MAN, Joel. Those look NICE!
I have some of these old Silverado c1500 and a c1500 sportside and a ck 1500 extended cab
I need one of those hoods.
Biggest thing I'd want is a super detailed grill, ESPECIALLY if it were billet grill styled. Chevy and GMC option. I'm more of a 2" cowl hood if it's not stock. Currently modifying both a Chevy and GMC 96 regular cab, short bed trucks. Love 'em!!
Check out Iceman Collections
The hood is cool. How about doing the grille from the new kit?
The Outlaw hood would be all I would need/want for this build. All I am looking to do would be a simple mildly rodded build with aftermarket rims, most likely Centerlines, and your hood. Please do let us know when it is available.
Like and follow my Luka Cee Products page on Facebook. It will be announced on there.
I would to see them parts to remade I need some parts for mine .
Yes Matt I'm sure you would sell the crap out of all of the separate pcs's ,I plan on building a few of these and if you would do the chassis of the dually I'd buy a few of those too because I'm gonna build a dually for each of the modifieds from Wes's and I want the trucks as cool as the cars and the scratch built trailers that I make.....I'm gonna buy a couple of Wes's trailers to use but I scratch build some really cool trailers out of the Evergreen styrene also....anyway again yes please do make the hoods and chassis for both the short bed and please please make the chassis for the dually also.....thanks bud
Not sure about the dually chassis, yet. That master would take a bit work to create. There isn't an existing one. It would depend on how the short box one would do and time. But it's not off the table.
@TheLukaCeeChannel I wasn't lucky enough to get an older ford dually but do you know if a older Ford dually kit maybe able to be used to make the full chassis using the Ford seeing how we glue it together lol not a special bolt pattern needed
I love that hood! I built the longbed version when it originally came out, was it the 88? I thill have it.
Yep. 1988 and that first issue was under the MPC banner.
Great vid . Damn that hood is sweet
Thank you
Need to do a chassis for the 3500
Hood is cool, make some more parts like the chassis
I'm really liking the outlaw hood!!! Also looking forward to any other parts you can get put out for these trucks. Maybe an LSx engine?!?!
I'm staying out of the engine business. The 3d guys like Iceman Collections, got that area covered. And can produce them at a better price point than casting.
@@TheLukaCeeChannel Understandable. Thanks for the tip on Iceman Collections. I will definitely be checking them out. Wouldn't happen to have an affiliate link I could click, would you? I don't mind doing what I can to help a fellow modeler.
Luka make a stock old school frame like the 454 has
Great stuff, front suspension parts is what we need
Did you ever release the hood? I have the dealer promo long bed 1990 model just like my own truck and the hood was glued on and I snapped it in half trying to take it off the day I got it 😬😂😂
No. I never did. I had to temporarily shut down back in August. I am working on getting things going very soon. And there is a good chance that this hood will be in my comeback line up.
@@TheLukaCeeChannel awesome, I sure hope it is. Honestly if you could make stock replacement hoods too that would be sweet. I’d like an extra to cut vent holes in
@@TheLukaCeeChannel just a cool thing I thought I’d share with you. the interior on the new model is set up as an automatic but the interior on the 1990 promo model I have is set up with a shifter and a clutch molded into the interior tub. The promo also has low back buckets seats instead of the new ones high back seats
Nice 👍🏿
👍
Did you make some hoods I like to buy some
You'd better make some little doughnuts to hold that tie rod onto the pins on the spindles. Otherwise that tie rod can fall right off. Also, how would you like to make special decals for the Kodiak Edition of this truck? My real'97 Kodiak Edition has several winter driving options such as a limited slip rear end, a block heater, heavy duty alternator and heater. Also mine's a standard tranny (though that may not have been part of the options.
I need a couple of those hoods. How do I get them?
They are not available yet. Follow me on my Facebook page Luka Cee Products
If you make it they will buy! 💰
Nice 😅
That 70 show exit instead of Wisconsin it arizona
You should totally cast the 454 in the black chevy
Did you ever get around to it?
How much for the hood!!!🔥🔥🔥
😮your gonna sale a bunch of those
I'm sure
Its not a bad kit!But not for the price of a full kit!More expensive then the new tool full kit Revell Mustang!
L.C. the 454 kit is A MILLION TIMES WAY BETTER THEN THE NEW JUNK
🐿🐿🐿👍👍🙂
😁😁😁
I just got ripped off , on ebay auction. for a 454 ss truck model. the seller didn't send me it. I won it for $50 us funds. anyways I went and picked up the newer version for much much cheaper. I can't afford $100 us for a 454 ss .
the newly repop is fubar it blows chunks the old school 454 is a million times better
