    Thank you so much I always wonder how or where to place my transducer in the back of the boat. I have a manual jack plate so you showing me that jack plate mount was awesome I'm buying one now. I'm mounting my Solix 15 transducer there. Learn something new all the time I didn't know why I couldn't see the bottom while traveling 60mph the thru hull transducer the key you mention now I know thanks again. You put out amazing videos for the average fishermen to learn from weather its boat care to your famous baits I love. Thank you so much.

    The best thing about you, homie, is that although you are in the class of "owners" who could do like the rest of them and just buy their way in to the circuit, but you really are a true competitor. You actually want to win for competitions sake. Not many like that. That and you actually put out quality content. Puts you in a class almost by yourself, bro. Many kudos.

    This was an interesting and informative video. Good stuff. A few questions. On the Ultrex do you hace the built in DI or the standard U2S transducer? So my brother (Texas) has a Ranger and his Lowrance transducer is on rightside epoxied to the underside to the right of what looks like two drains with the wire coming out the rear. He complains that he always has to reset the direction of the sonar on his graph (right to left from left to right). Anyway to save that setting? Or other change in transducer?

    • @JohnCrews
      @JohnCrews  Před 3 lety

      My Ultrex has the standard ducer.
      That’s odd on the reversing transducer. Once you program it once, it should stay.

  • @jdrinkh2o
    @jdrinkh2o Před 3 lety +1

    Do you have the perspective mount bracket for the Livescope, if not you should. I've got both the 360 and Livescope on my boat and prefer the Livescope set in perspective mode over the Mega 360 in a lot of situations. The 360 has to spin rather slow to show detail, where the livescope in perspective is real time. So cruising shallow water on the trolling motor you don't have to stop and wait for the 360 to sweep to see what's out there. But perspective mode on livescope is only good in about 15ft of water, and I find I have to run the gain much higher to see stuff compared to forward view, so make sure you adjust gain when switching modes. Good luck this season!

    Great video! I just purchased a lowrance elite ti 2 9 inch with the 3-in-1 transducer. I planned on using this as my only scanner. I’m trying to understand if I’ll be able to read depth of water when I am on plane. Will that depend on where I mount it? Before watching this video I was going to mount it where traditional transducers go, which is through the hull. Either below the boat or slightly higher than the bottom of the hull. Could you please help a brother out.

    • @JohnCrews
      @JohnCrews  Před 2 lety

      The 3 in 1 won’t read while on plane no letter how you mount it. You need a 2D transducer mounted in bottom of hull to do that.

  • @unfazedsportsapparel
    @unfazedsportsapparel Před 2 lety +1

    John, great info. I find myself facing this dilemma right now. Old Lowrance not reading depth anymore. I am sure it has to do with the through-hull transducer. I bought a new Lowrance Elite today with 3 in 1 Transducer. I like the idea of the flush mount under the step. I have a 2002 TR19 and it has that step. Is there a kit for that?
