I think it can be slightly unnerving, not in a bad way, but in the way that lullaby's turned minor and scary and often used in media. To me, without context, it sounds like its recalling a memory as well as facing some impeding threat.
My mother always used to play Anastasia for me as a baby. I HATED the evil dude. i always cried LOL. Also, I love this song. It's like my second home. I'm so happy it's so recognized. But I'm so sad people find it "creepy" when it's gorgeous. Keep up the good work!

Столько лет прошло с того момента как я первый раз посмотрела этот мюзикл, а он по сей день является моим самым любимым. При чем не только мюзиклом, но и мультом
This song, brings me back to sad times, its not creepy, happy, scary or depressed, its sad (for me) my mom used to sing this to me all the time. My mom don’t care about me anymore, she only wanted to sing something to her little baby girl, as a family tradition. This brings me back to sad and unloved moments, the “1st of December” for me its the only time my mom really loved me as a kid, and its the only time i felt loved, since them nothing makes happy as much as i was that time. The melody may be creepy for some people, for me is like a little girl whos trying to be loved as that time, but cant becouse of trauma. Shes trying to remember what she was fantasizing that time, which is only love. Pure love. As much she is unloved now she cant control her feelings. The Image that you put as a cover, rappresents me with the love that my mom gave that time, its still there, just..not now already, it dosent want to come out again, it fears to not be able to live longer than this…(sorry for the bad english).

There’s this anime by a wonderful studio(that created spirited away and my neighbour totoro)that’s called “when Marnie was there “ and this song matches it soooo much I was looking for an edit with the anime and this song but I couldn’t find one but the balcony and setting of this wonderful painting was exactly like the one in the movie with the blurred out person (in the painting) being in a position somone in the movie was in
Fun fact : they made Anastasia because they thought she was still alive because her bones were not in the grave of her family but they were there and it was actually her sister Marie who was missing.
