      @Gene Collander and if he was still alive yall would both be wrong. lots of good artists out there
      Just to name a few:
      kendrick, Cole, Ab Soul, Reason, King Los, J Rock, Big Sean, Vince Staples, D Smoke, Freddie Gibbs, JID, RTJ, Buddy, Royce 5’9”, Pusha T, Tobe Nwigwe, Nipsey*, Grip, itsxmusic, Saba, Aminé, Smino, Spillage Village, Earth Gang, Chuuwee, Deante Hitchcock, Year of the Ox, Denzel Curry, Dom Kennedy, YG, Poli G, Big Krit, Azizi Gibson, Westside Boogie, G Yamazawa, Isaiah Rashad, Jack Harlow, Kid Kudi, Locksmith, Mayzin, Mick Jenkins, Prof., Benny the Butcher, Cozz,

    • @MacLaw3084
      @MacLaw3084 Před 3 lety

      @Gene Collander deteriorated how? you mean mainstream/ radio rap? technology has made it so we can always listen to good rap/hip hop and discover new artists all the time. also rap is still a very new music genre so its evolving and changing still.

    • @MacLaw3084
      @MacLaw3084 Před 3 lety

      @Gene Collander id love to hear what you think does or doesnt have musical value. rap has almost always had a lot of “bad” music to go with the good. i think it can be argued that there is a greater quantity of good music now than ever before just because of how accessible it is and the sheer number of artists.

    • @MacLaw3084
      @MacLaw3084 Před 3 lety

      @Gene Collander im not necessarily gonna disagree with you there but that’s kinda to he expected. Although perhaps they’re more meaningful music out there then you realize. Its super hard to be original in rap because in the last 40 years we’ve heard virtually everything. But have you heard Grip’s albums called “Snubnose” and “Porch”? He’s definitely saying something worth listening to. But the genre as a whole is evolving. Nowadays i only really listen to rap in the gym. Otherwise i prefer funk, groove, alternative etc. What are some rap artists that you do like though?

    This might be the best interview with a rapper that I’ve ever seen. And dude was asking A-1 questions!! This is such a gem. Man….it’s so tragic that we lost Mac. Say what you want about him, but he was so much more than just his stage persona. Dude was thoughtful and open minded. I think he would have taken a similar path as Snoop, and become an uncle to the younger generations and someone who introduces “outsiders” to hip-hop because of how personable he is. He would be dripping with wisdom if he was still here. This interview is proof of that.
