- Part2 of rally gauge restoration for 1968 Firebird, removed the rust but needed just a touch more detail. Found a creative and inexpensive way to make the face look new again. Less then $2.00 investment.

Very well done!!
Keeping it simple
Wow! Great ingenuity. Gotta save a buck where you can. Thanks Jon.....cost effective and looks great.
I figured it would be inexpensive and look way better then the rusty face. What did I have to loose kinda thing
This is awesome. Great job and thanks for sharing. 👍👍
Glad to help
Thanks again for the content
My pleasure!
Very clever! Maybe you should go with flat photo instead of glossy?
Brilliant!!
Thanks!
Nice job.
Thanks! Appreciate that
Smart man
seems to work real
nice.
Love your videos, so informative. I’m a Ford man but so much of what you show can be translated to any brand.
As for the print a couple setting changes to the background contrast in photoshop and you could get it spot on. What you have done works a treat though and looks great.
I have done similar with new school gauges with standard paper and transparent prints. You can use a second print behind it with blackouts so that the light only shines through the areas you leave white/blank. Is a little muted but still works well for a custom look.
Right on thanks for the advice, I like to see everyone sharing their experiences and expertise it only helps us all and that is the goal
That’s a cool video and an amazing idea
Much better then trashing the gauges, it really looks nice
@@VinylVillageGarage Absolutely
Keep up the videos. I just found you and love ur stuff. 👍
Awesome, thank you!
I seen online a company that sells decals for the gauges. Your idea is way more reasonable on price.
Thanks! I didn’t find anything, I am going to look into those.
Good stuff. Im looking to install the Rally guage on my Bird as it has now the STD Fuel only package. That Rally guage is pretty pricey when new.
The rally gauges do look nice and still in my opinion a pricey upgrade today. But wow it does look nice.
Awesome, $1.50 is definitely way better than a $300 after market. Good job.👍
My thoughts exactly!
Clever idea! Great job and I'll keep that in the back of my mind for future reference.
Definitely an improvement,
As for durability we shall see, I also have a plan in the works with the company that prints my stickers to make this into a water and fade resistant sticker.
looks great!
Thanks buddy!
That looks spot on! Excellent work sir.
I believe it will work as is, but I have one more idea in the works for durability
@@VinylVillageGarage can’t wait to see it!
Those look great. Great thinking for a budget fix. Keep up the great work.
Thanks buddy. Nice teaser of your bird at the body shop. Looks like they are getting it straightened out
@@VinylVillageGarage They are. Hopefully ill have it back around thanksgiving.....hopefully.
Hey buddy that came out looking great funny thing is I also got my picture done for my hood tack at Walgreen and as you saw it it still looks good it's so the gages should last a long time because it doesn't get sun like a hood tach gets happy I was some help As much as the help you have given me take care buddy
I appreciate your help with this idea. In really like the results. I hope your birthday was awesome!
@@VinylVillageGarage it was good thanks for asking I was playing car's all day long 😀
Sounds like the best birthday ever!
How does the light shine thru for the gauges?
Fortunately it’s not like newer cars where it has to be transparent, the light just reflects of the white paint
I love low tech solutions...
And at the end of the day its still gm not China
Indeed. Work smarter not harder
Brilliant!!
Thank you! Still fine tuning it. I have one more idea I am trying as for durability
