Spartans never die,
They're just appearing offline.
"Wake me... when you need me."
in memory of my best friend, who always loved Halo, he passed away this year. i miss him

Momonichi The Parasyte Overlord I'm so sorry for your loss :(

This is the song of my childhood, Halo holds a very special place in my heart. Halo is not dead, its just missing in action.
Spartans never die.
Microsoft adopted a dead dog and only revived is head
Halo is not dead, but the confederacy is. Move the fuck on.

The year is 2007. Obama just started campaigning for US President, the Dark Knight is taking the world by storm, Bieber hasn't rose to infamy yet, and you spend every Friday afternoon with your friends playing this or Modern Warfare multiplayer.
Nostalgia always makes me emotional.
Free Bird same
Yeah
Dark Knight was 2008 wasn't it?

F to all the friends we made during halo 3 that were last seen online 8 years ago, and a f to all the friends who couldn't make it with us in life.
Friends you bond with during co-op should be friends for life. Sometimes we lose homies to girls, cars, money, and popularity. Then they fade away from da homie we once knew. R.I.P. old homie's everywhere.

November 9th, 2007
Tonight's a cold night, more than usual. It's a Friday, all your school works done and chores are done. You have the weekend to yourself until Monday. You fire up Halo 3 on the ol Xbox and allow the menu to idle, 2:50 plays along while you rush to grab all your favorite food, a warm blanket on the couch to snuggle up to. Taking no note of just how important that music on your TV is. You adjust the lounge for maximum comfort and excitement. You see all your friends online waiting for you, you couldn't get there any faster, you just want to bunker down for a whole night of gaming right through to 5am.
You jump online and everyone sarcastically has a go at you for taking so long, but you all laugh it off and begin to play together. Another night in the younger years. The only thing that was on your mind was gaming and making memories with all your buddies, every night you'll do something hilarious, something to remember the next day. Then the next day, and the day after, soon it's a week, then a month, then a year. You still don't seem phased by it, everything is still the same, but maybe the friends aren't. New friends come and go, but you're all still living in the moment, enjoying what you have. No life commitments, no stress, no duties, no responsibilities. Just innocent gaming away from the world and online with your pals.
Fast forward in life through the years you've taken no notice of. Everythings gone. Everyones moved on. But you're still here. Living your life, still holding on to an aged hobby. Listening to this track, making you remember how simple and stress free life was back when you're gaming with your buddies you've never met, over twelve or so years ago. All those memories you've made are more precious than most of anything in your life right now. You yearn for a time to just relive that moment for a day, to go back to those times. Everything was just so damn simple. It was you, your buddies, and the gaming.

This. Moves. Me.
2:48 In Memory of Halo, Master Chief, Cortana and Bungie... After reach any hope for Halo truly died... and my faith along with it. R.I.P Halo 1 through Reach, You were the games that made friendships, you were the games that made me proud to be a gamer... You were the games that inspired millions.
How are your feelings on halo coming on pc
But not us: Citizens of Russia
But Spartans never die.
I logged back into my old Xbox account. I checked my activity from the last time I played Halo 3 with all of my friends. It read “Last Online 13 years ago”. Such a sad feeling. When you realize how much you’ve grown and so has everyone else… life moves on. Halo 3 was my get away from life. And my online friends were there to help me when I needed them the most.
As much as Infinite isn't like the good old days, I still play it because Halo will always be my go to for FPS games. Glad Forge and Community modes are back
Who remembers trying to flip the elephant on sandtrap?
Ah, yes... packing it with as many explosives as the game would permit and blowing them all. Good times.
Hold X to flip... wait what? How did you do that?
Me: I’m master chief. What did you expect?
just ram it against the dunes around the edge of the map at an awkward angle. boom, flip prompt.
I remember somehow making it fly. No idea how. It was Big Team Rockets.
2007 was a special time for all of us Halo 3 fans and proud owners of a Xbox 360. Never forget 9/25/2007.
1:36 always loved this part. You get to feel calm you hear the banshees fly in the distance and you get to hear the thunder. You get to pick on options where you could see Chief and arbiter side by side, a spartan and elite combatting, or a simple oracle creating.
Hearing this theme while waiting for friends to come on or even just going back and listening.
@Isaiah Villanueva Choose wisely halo3
It’s by far the most nostalgic part of the menu for me. I love it. I gotta know the name of the song
2:45 is this it's own song?
This is literally why I came here.
ikr I remember Halo 3 by this part of the song the most.
Yes, it's called Never Forget.
It's called unforgotten
You're right, Never Forget is the Halo 3 version with a slightly different pitch than this version (Halo 2's = Unforgotten).
+Joe Da Eskimo yes I like both definitely haha
This makes me so happy but also sad there will never be a game like this again... this is really making me cry
Don't give up hope. There might be a game like this. Just be confident.
Travis Desmond but we’ll never be in that time, with the people and environment we were at in 07. We’re all either too busy or we’ve parted ways, and... ah man. I just miss simple life before adulthood.
Well Halo Infinite has been announced now... It looks the most like Halo 3 that any game has since.
Thanks to 343 industries, I find it hard to believe there will ever be a halo game as good as halo 3 was(I will admit, halo reach did come close, but that was bungies doing, its last hoorah)
ALUCARD7729 halo 2 was pretty good but halo 3 is best halo game hands down
games will never be this good again
True
Jujubung Dark souls franchise disagrees.
Then The Last of Us comes around
Not shooters anyway..
FPS shooters will rise again
0:32 by far the most nostalgic for me, everytime i hear it i feel like im 4 years old watching my big bro play halo 3 in like 2011
MCC is finally coming to PC. The moment of salvation is at hand.
sounds like someone saw the mountain top and lived as few men dared to dream.... and regretted nothing
It doesn't have splitscreen.. :(
it won't be the same. not with 343 at the helm
I unironically think this was the best game ever made. Maybe not the best in every category, but overall the best, and improved a hundredfold by such a strong and extensive community
I remember several years ago, I was at my aunt's house, I kept my Xbox 360 and an old TV monitor both on, staying at the main menu, listening to this while sleeping at midnight. In fact, at that time, Halo 3 was the ONLY GAME I EVER HAD, no other Halo games, no other franchises, nothing else, which made the memory even better and more memorable.
Who remembers Fat Kid on Skycastle
im friends with the team who created such maps!
It's in halo online too,
Love how the pace starts to pick up right at 1:17
Ya know it really hurts seeing what 343 has done to this beloved franchise because you come back to the original games and see what we had vs what we have now. Really sucks, I wish Bungie never left
Everyone's talking about online play, but this game reminds me of one of the last times I'd get together with a big group of guys to play in person. Hook up 2 Xboxes and 2 tvs, pizza and soda. Talk about how great The Dark Knight was. Pretend to be way more successful with girls then we ever were. Make terrible off color jokes and memes that seem so simple and dumb now. 14/15 feels like such a long time ago now
3:45 onwards play it at my funeral
1:32 best one
As someone who was born in 2007, few months after Halo 3's release, I can say... Those were some damn good memories, I wish I could go back and relive it all again.
I play Halo 3 on the MCC... But it doesn't feel the same.
I love when the song picks up pace at 1:05 right before I hit multiplayer. Makes me even more hyped to play.
1:06 and 1:38 are both in the soundtrack. 1:06 is titled ‘Movement’ and 1:38 is titled ‘Choose Wisely’. 2:47 is part of Halo 2, Vol. 2 under the name ‘Unforgotten’.
0:00 to 5:01 is the reason i came here
Aahh yes. The golden era of Halo, Xbox 360 and mulitplayer.
Let's take a moment to remember our good old days playing Halo 3, ODST, Reach and Halo 4.
The countless hours we spent with friends, parents or cousins playing and having the best time.
WE ARE ALL SPARTANS, NEVER FORGET OUR PAST
Take Halo 4 off that list and I wholeheartedly agree.
Not halo 4
Fact. Games will never be this good again.
Thank you for uploading this. That one piece from 0:33-1:05 is my most favorite part out of all of it. So much nostalgia with just this menu music. Love it.
+Akimoto My favorite part too :)
+Akimoto omg my favorite part too, its so nostalgic

Akimoto Me and my dad played halo 3 ODST EVERY night... now that my parents are divorced... it never happens now.
I grew up playing Halo
Welcome back. I know this isn't your first time here it's good to see you again. I hope you're doing well
I feel like I'm in a better place at 1:32 to 2:45
The Real Master Cheif yeah same.
Like in the heaven
If your wondering what the track it's choose wisely very calm and ambient track one of my fav halo 3 tracks
Fatality!
Sitting their in the main menu screen, admiring the music at the age of 7.... here I am, a 15 year old listening to some good as halo music.... good times....
I think this was probably the first video game where I would just sit there on the menu... just listening, and now I do it all the time with games like Xenoblade, The Witcher 3, etc. Never realized how big of an impact Halo 3's music alone had on me, It's a genuine passion of mine. I don't sit there like "Oh I wanna make a video game" (most people have no clue the effort many dev teams go through to make a game, let alone a good one), I wanna be capable of creating, or even just being a part of a team that makes a truly unforgettable experience like this, y'know, something that sticks, even if it just a video game. Whether or not it's sound or visual design, animation, or hell, just building the thing that can run something like this, not everyone has the same experiences in video games, but if you're relatively passionate about any game (if you're sitting here on the Halo 3 ost you probably are) you get what I'm saying, but I'd consider it as returning the favor.
(P.S. Halo 3 on pc babyyyyy)
1:37 to 2:45 is the best part it just gives me to much nostalgia
Yes it does!! It hits hard. I get flashbacks of 07
2:45 "I swear I will not cry!!" gets to 3:44 -starts sobbing uncontrollably- DAMN YOU 343! YOU KILLED MY CHILDHOOD!
There bringing it back, Bungie style
@@GamingBoy0422 fool. can you not see the betrayal now?
@@GamingBoy0422 Were you blinded by 343? Paralysed? Dumbstruck? Yet the false advertisers were able to evade your defense, land in yoyr heart, and desecrate it with their filthy microtransactions!
I have been waiting a long time for this. The background sounds were cool, but it's great to finally have it without them. Thank you!
When you look at your Xbox friends list and see that all of your halo friends have been offline for eleven years, the final day eleven years ago was the very last day you will ever spend with someone that you never met in real life; you were kids, safe from the brutal enemy which is time itself, time was merely an illusion to you, you thought it would never end; as for all of us though, time takes it all away in the end, and we all have to grow up, become parents, hold a job, grow old, then die.
As much as we beg to have those days back, they will never come. Just remember, your halo buddies are probably holding successful jobs and probably even became great parents, but some probably never got a chance to grow up...... Never forget.
I entered the franchise by influence of my dad. I watched him play Combat Evolved every weekend when he was finished up with work, I was only around 4 or 5 when he handed me the Xbox Controller and asked if I wanted to play. He booted up CE on easy mode, and told ke how to play, I then moved on to Halo 3, I never had 2 growing up. And after booting up Halo 3, I fell in love. My first video game was Halo Combat Evolved, my favourite game ever is Halo 3. I will do the same with my future kids as my dad done with me. Introduced me to the world of gaming through Halo.
3:40 so much nostalgia. I love my life, I have had such an amazing life. I never have to complain about anything.
The new ones just don't compare to the old ones. I didn't even buy 5.
Jake Morgan #Nottruefan
Blaze Modz give me a break. I'd rather spend my limited free time playing the good halos
Jake Morgan "Good Halo's" Okay, Assuming you mean 1, 2, 3, ODST, And Reach? Well, Bungie didn't even MAKE Reach, THAT Was 343. Bungie only Supervised.
Well then 343 did a good job on Reach. I just didn't enjoy 4 and 5 looked to be more of the same.
Good to know that this XBOX legend has been recently launched for PC.....
Nostalgia, just pure nostalgia of our youth. A game that bonded with us and helped bond with others. The halo franchise will never be forgotten and will always be to me the greatest game that ever came out
I only had Halo 3 and 4, but I remember this playing in the main menu and custom games menu screen of Halo 3. Now when I come back to this, it reminds me so much of my childhood. Coming back at noon with the family, playing custom games with my bros, messing around with the mongooses in Standoff, splattering each other using the Ghosts in Last Resort, for like the whole day, it's so nostalgic... However after 14 years, my Xbox 360 cannot recognize the disc anymore, and there goes all my memories. Thank you for uploading this, really reminds me of the good ol' days.
1:40 best part about the menu in halo 3.
I had several fun times of playing campaign and split screen with friends when going over to their houses. Even beat Halo 3 once. But never owning an Xbox, Halo was something I sorely missed out on as a kid. It’s a joy I’ll never know yet can sense when I go back down memory lane and listen to things like this.
0:33 is the most relaxing one.
Thank you for uploading this you brought us all our childhood and we will forever thank you for that
0:33-1:05 gives me the most chills out of them all
Same here. My favorite one from the main menu, it's called Choose Wisely.
@@ToastyWaffle456 It seems like Choose Wisely but it's kinda different. I've been trying to find the actual track. It's so beautiful.
@@Gertzerroz Yeah I don't know what track it is if it is one... it's the choir from Covenant Dance but with some great sound effects.
This isn’t one of the official tracks unfortunately. Not on Spotify. Doesn’t have a name. It’s just awesome. Wish it was an official song so it could be downloaded 😭
The greatest video game of all time.
Halo 3 means a lot to me. It feels more then a game when I play it and I think most people can agree with what I'm saying. this game was literally almost the first thing that became part of me, my soul, my love and passion. I remember the time when I came from school thinking it would just be another ordinary day, but when I came home I saw a xbox 360 with two games Call of duty 4 and Halo 3. my brother was playing cod 4 and I was so exited to play Halo 3. The next day, when I played halo 3 I was already hooked and played the campaign and multiplayer for countless of hours each day, I really miss the time when games were just simple and were really just made to entertain people back then. Now what is it worth being a gamer. I will never forget halo 3 ever because of its own experience that I was able to get.
I miss 2007. The glory days of gaming and CZcams. Back when the world made sense. This song represents all of that. Halo 3 forever
We don't realize the value of a moment untill it becomes a memory
We did it. We finished the fight.
Spartans never die. They're just Missing in Action.
This song floods the nostalgia canals for me. It's sad that I will never relive these memories that I has with friends 😔
Back when Xbox 360 was the best video game console with Xbox titles like Halo 3, Fable 2, Dead Rising 1, GTA IV were majorly popular and to some people are still quite fun to play.
0:33 always been my favorite
i cri at 2:45 to 5:01
bellasmental im glad its back in the Masterchief collection 😥
I remember the first time I played this game. I went over to my old friends house and we would play it for hours till I went home since then I have always wanted an Xbox and this game will for ever be in my heart forget Fortnite, pubg, war zone etc this is the game that almost everyone got into and started their gaming life!
Thank you Halo!
Thank you bungie! ❤️😢👏🏻
Big Big Big Thank you for this!!!!! This is exactly what I've been looking forever for! :D
I remember the last day I played Halo 3. I looked at my friends list to see who was playing and half of them were playing different games and the other half hadn’t logged on in weeks. I cried a little because I knew this game was over and I wasn’t ready to move on yet. This game changed everything for me. I still have friends to this day due to this game. I never really fell in love with a video game until this game. Thank You Bungie for changing everything for me.
FINALLY, BEEN LOOKING FOR AGES
2:45 to the very end T~T my heart still feels that piano and violin right down to the core

I look back now after playing halo for many years and continuing to, and think what a perfect fucking game, you couldn't ask for anything better honestly everything combined made more than something to pass the time and keep people employed.
Every time I hear this part at 0:01 when I start up halo 3 makes me feel like wow I still play this game to this very day
Countless hours have spent just gazing upon the screen... 6 year old me was so fascinated, now he knows why....
Esta y la de Halo 2 me convierten en una niñita nostalgica.
Que buenos tiempos jugando Halo con los amigos.
2:47 is the reason why I came here, it’s the best part of the song and just evokes a lot of emotion
4:34 This theme plays in Halo Infinite when Chief is seeing the flashback of receiving Cortana for the first time. I teared up when I heard it.
