After hearing this topic, I have to agree with you, I guess you need to weed out the weak wrestlers who aren't meant for the business.

Think disco has not realised that the majority of wrestling fans are on youtbe and listening to podcast like keepin'It 100 and Talk is Jericho. The modern fan is very connected. It's why so many fans know who these guy's are they hear about being the elite on CZcams and how check it out. The internet wrestling community might be as if not more entertaining than the show's on tv.
Modern fans listen to the WRONG stuff, most people don't even realise that they're Marks. Stuff like WrestleMila, WhatCulture etc... ALL click bait for Marks.

Even the card gets loaded with Mark's from the late 90's who are now the athletes that perform. Konann had it right the business has changed. Jim Ross did the right thing. He was setting up the other Color commentators to give some backstory to let the fans know who these guys are. Jim Ross is the Play by Play guy. And leading the broadcast. He is the voice of the viewer and asks the questions the viewers might ask. The backup commentators job is to answer those questions. The issue was with the color commentators not doing their role and it seemed to irk JR a bit.

I totally agree with Konnan and Disco’s opinion on JR in AEW, one thing I already hate about AEW is how on their pre-shows, the buy in, they don’t preview any matches or give background stories on the talent, it’s like AEW expects all the viewers to know everything about the product already

@@KeepinIt100OFFICIAL they have a very fast paced strong style similar to nxt.wwe sd and raw have become so reliant on non wrestling promos, jokes, pantomime ,soap opera.when u airing a 3hr long show with 50mins of onscreen wrestling of which some is very gimmicky just 2 eat up the minutes sometimes. they have some tremendous talent.but i think aew just wants 2 appeal to a more adult audience where wrestling is the bulk of the entertainment.yeah sure the promos and in between stuff is wrestling too, but it just seems to control the tv time now at wwe..if u watch nxt its entertaining nearly all the way through..aew is an opportunity for indy guys who deserve a chance who mayb wwe wouldnt consider..they say they want to be an alternative.and i think they will be in more ways than 1.think creativness will be alot more free..

For the JR and AEW marriage to work JR needs an executive position. I thought he had one but I cant make sense of it because on his podcast he says stuff that makes it seem like hes very uninvolved in alot but so many members of the AEW "executive team" have zero experience as executives in general and as wrestling promoters INCLUDING THE OWNER HIMSELF. JR needs to, as everyone does, protect his own brand. As much as he wants AEW to succeed, and so do I, theres no way he will allow AEW to compromise his integrity and the career hes spent decades building up, especially not by having him commentating a humiliating product.

A casual and main stream crowd seeing someone for the first time is going to see someone over exposed and over used because of Indy wrestling? Use your brain. I assure you that many fans already know who/what Orange Cassidy is. As I said, if AEW uses/utilizes him in a proper way, some fans may find him entertaining. This has a lot to do with the degradation of kayfabe. Konnan is 100% accurate about the money, schools don't want to lose business by kicking out students. But kayfabe kept the business sacred and allowed for the 'good ole boys' to maintain a grip on wrestling. Before you were 'smartened up', you had to prove you were believable as a real life tough guy. Now everyone knows wrestling is a work and the need for the 'bully filter' has dissolved.

I have to agree with disco on orange. Orange hasn't proven anything yet and only hardcore fans follow him. He still needs to prove himself and keeping his hands in his pockets while diving into other wrestlers is so pointless. I would rather watch Scott steiner because you can honestly say that Scott is legitimately cool and has proven himself while coming to the ring with the best looking chicks and had other wrestlers legit scared of him.

I'm 39 years old and I am loving AEW so far.
This is probably a horrible thing to say and assume but I just can't help but feel sad when I see JR out there. He is pushing 70 and I think only still doing this to keep himself out of the house, for the obvious reason. I hope I am wrong and he just really wants to work, but I don't know. And I am only saying this out of respect.

Lol everything they said is absolutely true. They don’t make em anymore like the did in the 70s 80s and 90s. What happened to the wrestlers that looked like men? It’s a damn shame that up and down AEW’s roster, you have guys that are skinnier and more out of shape than people in the crowd. Their audience looks tougher than the wrestlers themsleves. The only guys that have somewhat pf a profesional look are PAC, Omega, Luchasaurus. Everyone else comes across as kids who just got off their I-T jobs to come play wrestler.

What the hell is everyone talking about? When Cassedy shows up Excallibur exclaims "Freshly Squeezed Orange Cassidy!" and then calls the spot where he dives to the outside. JR's only response is "Jeepers" when Excallibur mentions the Dark Order are "Creepers" I honestly think when he says "Who is this guy?" He is channeling the two dudes starring at him confused.

I think what the guys are trying to say here is..... Every generation is going to do things that the previous Gen would frown upon. What needs to be pointed out is that there's a huge drop off in the wrestlers' mentality.
AEW will change, they have to or they'll have a mega loyal base of 200k fans and that is it. Every match at All Out had a Main Event feel. Even the lesser matches. Those talent are going to kill themselves before the company will dig it's heels into a base. Every match being 30 minutes is exhausting. They are going All In and will get All Worn Out pretty quick if they don't turn that faucet off. The WWE has all but put the brakes on everything while AEW is letting it all hang out
Now if they ran a few 15 minute matches, a show steeler and a 20 to 25 minute main event, that's digestible. The weekly show must change we need storylines. A niche group of us know who these talent are but they need to establish their characters. If they come off 2 months of programming without doing this, they'll be hurting their product fast.
I'm not too crazy about Orange Cassidy. When I saw him do the kicks to dreamer, I honestly was embarrassed as a 35 year fan at 39. I attend local shows and I love a lot of the funny spots. But you gotta knock some of that off and be selective about it. If Pac and others are going to walk out, AEW will have the stain of TNA all over it. I really want to be a ardent defender of AEW but I just can't do that, not until I see more colors on their pallet
