You are correct. None of the super fancy stuff with this monitor to adjust the setting of the camera unfortunately. But for its price there are good useful features like zooming in on the image, focus peaking and a bunch of color options
Great review - I have been a little frustrated by the lack of anamorphic desqueeze modes on my Atomos Shinobi as it only supports 1.33, 1.5 and 2X. I'm looking for a field monitor that I can pop on for the set of Atlas Mercury and Vazens I have which are 1.5x and 1.8x. I haven't been able to find any information on the whether the VIltrox has any anamorphic desqueez features - which sort of leads me to believe it doesn't. Any idea if it does?
This monitor does not have 1.33 or 1.5 the closest is 2.35:1
Does anyone know where to get the up to date firmware? They removed it from their Website.
I'm having a problem with the input resolution with the standard DC-550.
Input res is plug and play. Highest input signal this will except is 4k 30fps so if you outputting 4k 60fps the monitor will not display the image. You can also try to factory reset the device in the settings to see if that fixes the issue.
Have you checked if it works 4k50fps when you output 1080p from camera?
You can input 4K 30 and use this. 4K 60 will not work with this monitor
Have you tried the focus peaking and false colour much? How accurate are rhey?
I use focus peaking daily, and it is accurate. False color seems to be pretty accurate as well. As you use the features over time, you'll learn what works best and what adjustments may need to be made, if any, but right out of the box, the features work as they should for my needs.
Dang you skipped right over anamorphic stretch which is what I needed to know lol. What are the options for that?
Oh my bad lol anamorphic is very niche so I skipped over it because most wouldn’t be interested. But the options on this monitor are: 1.85:1 and 2.35:1
just picked this up this week! do you know if this supports starting the record from the monitor?
It does not support recording directly from the monitor you will still need to hit record on your camera. All this monitor does is show the image and gives you options more options and features about the image.
@6:48 I show how to enable the feature. You have to set the app to that mode to sync.

Yea especially if you do a lot of shooting outside. I hate when you have to use the view finder to make sure you’re not over/under exposed. It’s gives you a nice representation of what your shooting vs the screen on the camera. Also like to show clients footage with im this instead of the little screen on the camera 😏😏

Correct. Set camera up to shoot 4k 60 but set the hdmi output to 1080p and the monitor will work.
Is this monitor show auto Focus area ? Like the gray box on camera monitor...

The monitor works like plugging a monitor into your computer. You can display settings of the camera, but to change adjust settings of the camera has to be done on the camera.
What's about the 4k30 input? I mean, if you're shooting on a A7IV with 4k60, and you want to use the monitor, you can adjust the HDMI output to 4K30? Or the external monitor puts your gear in some kind of bottleneck?
The highest setting this can take is 4k 30fps so if you’re camera is on 4k 60 the monitor will not recognize it and will not show the video displayed

@@austintsai03 yes that can work! but when it comes to cameras mine can only output its recording settings. But if you swap to a lower res then the monitor will recognize the signal

Yes you can view photos or videos on the monitor taken with the camera and even the camera settings

Yes it does.
Does this monitor work with fuji x and f-log?
This monitor does not have a native F-log profile built in, but I would say the other log profiles could be of some use. So yes, it will work, but it may be slightly different from true f-log which is a flatter profile compared to other log profiles. I hope that helps and answers your question.
How long you getting out of the battery?
About 2 hours on 70 percent brightness
It’s rated for 1.5 hours on 100 percent brightness and you can also purchase higher rating batteries or charge usb C while using.
Can I use 4k 50p in camera?
4k 30hz is the highest video quality on the input of this monitor.

The hdmi cord they sent with the monitor will work for the M50. It’s included lol right should’ve made the battery gray to match the monitor back

How do I change language to English for the monitor
double tap touchscreen menu > the top right icon (3 line with dots in) > first sub menu Language (语言
) choose English. I hope that helps

Nah bro It’s true. It’s a really good monitor. If I were to answer that again now I’d say the battery dies too quick so make sure to have a larger size one and multiple.
I just realised that this monitor could only go to 4k30😂 Are there anyways to resolve this problem? Im a sony shooter btw
There was one CZcamsr that tried it with 4k 120 on the fx3 something? I forgot but it was on Sony cinema camera line. And he said there was no issue whatsoever, even when the specs didn't say it could go up to 4k 120
Thanks for your response. The highest 4k frame rate my cameras can shoot is 4k 30 which the display does work with that. From what I remember someone tried 4k 60 and did not work…I think. The only possible workaround I could think of would be shooting in 4K 60 or 120 but output HDMI at lower resolution but again haven’t tested this to confirm if it actually works.
