Good advice. My mother was a professional seamstress so we can all sew but nowadays folks can learn to sew online especially here on CZcams.

@@yvettekirkland5950 As I said,because we can all sew my sweet sister in love wanted to learn. With a few tips from us & mostly CZcams vids,she can now sew well. To further motivate herself,she made items to sell at an upcoming festival. Every item sold. A few years ago, one of my sisters in Atlanta even taught an online sewing class. There are so many resources that I’m sure you’ll reach your goal. I agree with @6ftNaturalBeauty,sewing is an invaluable skill. Good luck❤️

You are 100% right. I forgot I was wanting to learn how to sew. I am going to get myself together and find some community college that teaches tailoring\sewing.
I so appreciate this video. I am a bit tired of stylists online wear a $2000 Balmain blazer telling me she has three and they are so worth it!!! Really? Should I wear them to teach 3rd grade?? This video makes sense to most of our lives!
So right about the choice of fabric. I’m trying to not bring in any more 100% polyester items. It’s really hard because so many brands use this. But ultimately it looks inexpensive and makes me feel overly sweaty.

Love these tips!! You can find a lot of nice expensive/expensive looking pieces at thrift stores as well. I love thrifting! I found a designer wool suit for $14.99. You'll be surprised at what you find.

Alisha, I’ve also spent more on tailoring than the actual piece cost. However, after doing that, the piece was as it was specially made for me. Great tips in this video.

I really like all of your broad subject videos!! This one makes the clothes of fame list as well!! I definitely have most or more than half of the pieces, and I definitely mesh them together to make for a classy outfit ensemble. Designer pieces are an investment therefore, I tend to utilize my bags, earrings, bracelets, etc when it comes to designer additives. I love blazers..however, I live in New Orleans..so our winters are all of maybe 3 to 4 weeks sparingly..so, I wear winter pieces when the first sign of cold arises!!😂😂

Some really great, usable ideas on how to level up an outfit. I "forgot" I own a couple of high end silk scarves that I haven't pulled out of my closet in forever. I used to wear one of those with a neutral sweater or blouse and basic trousers or skirt or one-color dress, and it would look instantly amazing. I need to go dig those out right now!

Great examples! I like the phrase "level up" or "upscale the outfit". Look more expensive always sounds a little odd, to me, although many people use it. You definitely leveled up your outfits. Your cargo skirt is a GREAT example of the value of a skilled tailor. You have a great eye.
