Cool Features of the Best CNC Software
Being a first-timer to hook up a control card and a stepper driver to a home built CNC machine I have to say this video made my day. I plugged in my MKS DLC 32 version 2.1 card after installing the software, hit the jog button and was delighted to see the axis move. I used open builds cam software and was trying to figure out how to install grbl to control my machine. I meant to check out open builds control but totally spaced it out. Super happy I came across this video. So far I like everything about open builds. I've ordered parts from there. They responded to my questions. And their software is great. I look forward to digging into this open builds control software and getting my configurations correct. Thanks again. Subscribed.
Great overview of Openbuilds control functionality. Been a user for some time and never took time to really understand the "Other Features". Thanks for opening my eyes!
That was great thank you so much! I already download it and want to start using it. I found you on the YT videos.
Thanks Seth. And shortly after send this note I found your video of Hacks to speed up 3D Carves and you discussed those sliders. But thanks for answering.
Ohh man! Now you got my thinking, the other day I tossed all of those openbuilds related livestreams into a playlist and I should put a link to the playlist in the video description here 😄
Hey Seth thanks for a great review of OpenBuilds Control! It was awesome to see you dive in and point out all the cool features available. I am sure it will help many get a jump start on using the software. Stay tuned, as there are up and coming exciting things in the works for Control here at OpenBuilds HQ
Wow! That sounds really cool, I can't wait to see the upcoming improvements 👍👍
@Openbuilds Can we get a separate Z step control please??? 😁
Seth, fired up OpenBuilds for the first time today and had a successful experience. Is there , to the best of your knowledge, a video out there that goes through setting it up and all the features that it provides. I am looking for something more in-depth than the Best Features review that you did. Also, setting up the probe would be helpful. I have the Inventables disk prob and not the Openbuilds all in one corner probe. Great videos and terrific teaching skills. Look forward to more Seth Insights!
Great video Seth, I think this and GSender are both great options for controlling your CNC for sure.
I like where Scienci Labs are taking it. The mobile jog feature (because of the location on my computer station behind my large cnc) is a very big help in my process, otherwise its tough to see the screen and navigate with a wireless mouse to jog the machine around. But for many users I can see that feature going unused and the softwares back on a pretty level playing field... Everybody's needs are a little different though 😁👍
Great video. I have tried all 3 and just have gravitated towards Openbuilds. Would definitely like to see you go in to the other functions you touched on. 👍
Thanks for the feedback... I have to setup the new 4040 cnc I just picked up, sounds like a perfect time to setup the probes and g28 functions 😁👍
I would love to see a probe tutorial. I have a simple gemitsu 3040 controller and triquetra 3 axis probe plate
It's a kinda long livestream, but I go over setting up an xyz probe here

Hey Seth just found out your youtube channel you're making awesome tutorials, i've just subscribed 💞 hope you remember me from fb 🤩❤❤❤
Yes please a second video on open build
Yes please on the G28. I've used G54-59 before ages ago. Can't remhoe to set/reset been so long ago & grey cells shot !!
looks nice and clear interface
Think I am going to focus on using Vectric V Carve Desktop and Openbuild Controller on my Inventables X Carve. Any recommendations on setting up OpenBuild Controller to connect to my X Carve?
have been looking at OpenBuilds. It looks great, but there are two issues that will keep me from using it until they fix them. First, there needs to be a separate incremental amount for the Zed axis from the Y and X axis. Second, I can't seem to find a way to jog in an increment other than what is labeled on the buttons without manually typing in the G code in the console. They are off to a nice start though...
Sorry for the stupid question but can i use with this black box, grlb softwares like Cncjs,or The Universal G Code Sender??
Where do you get all these GRBL settings? I have a masuter pro using carveco + and open builds and don't know where to look for the settings. Like teeth or belt type or motor type. The machine did not come with a good manual where I would think this info would be.
"Best...in Seths opinion!" #TeamUGS 🤣
Seriously, there are some great features in it and thanks for this. I genuinely think if they added that separate Z height control I'd be using it as my goto software.
I've been thinking about that and I think they might have left them as a single setting because all of their machines have limit switches and soft limits for the Z- height, so worst case it might lose a couple steps of over plunged into the wasteboard, but soft limit would stop it, so for an openbuilds machine (or any machine with limit switches and correctly set soft limits) its a fairly minor concern.
But I'll agree that if you're not (and im not on 2 machines) using switches, then having 2 seperate settings is optimal to prevent excessively crashing the Z.
@@SethCNC I think its just an overlooked feature, not sure if its anything to do with switches as Candle and CNCJS don't have it either. If you've never had the option to change it then you probably don't realise it's benefit but as soon as you do, it's just makes the control easier - for me anyway. Although I do find UGS now looks dull and grey in comparison to Openbuilds 😒
Well OpenBuilds left a comment in here too, mentioning future updates, so we'll see if they add that feature to the next major update 🤷♂️
I'm using open builds to operate my homemade CNC table with a MKS DCL v2.1 card. Everything is going smoothly so far. My control card has built-in Wi-Fi and I'm wondering if you could tell me how to enable it using open builds control? Thanks.
Any chance of adding Auto leveling to what already is a great controller.
How do you edit or delete macros that you've set?
I use the x32 blackbox with interface and it says idle. when i hook to comp usb it says grbl disconnected everything was fine until i connected to the second cnc it has the same set up any ideas ? Thanks
Thanks for this review. Can you do roughing and finishing toolpaths with this software? (and how)
You'd have to save the toolpaths into seperate files then run them one at a time.
This is the case for nearly every hobbyist cnc, except onefinity and shapeoko using their brand specific sender software.
New to this I’m trying to connect to my arduino the wizard says hold down the mode button and then the reset button where do I find the mode button
i would like to know more about setting up my triqutra touch plate
i dont use the top right corner of my machine for the work piece i use the bottom left near the home. how do i change the offsets or i actually want to get rid of the offset. my machine control shows a g54 above the x,y,z coord display and yours does not but i dont know how to change that or get rid of the offsets can you please help me out i am loosing my mind.
Tried using this after using UGS, and it was quite a Hustle to navigate it... though I know my mind just lazy after accepting n learning UGS as the base one...
UGS was giving me trouble with my Fox alien masuter pro, I destroyed an Amana bit router and a few feet of hard maple, I use Carveco Maker and I though was their software but when I saved a file for candle worked fine but that controller is too limited so I tried OpenBuilds and works like a charm.
Fantastic overview Seth. I also find the Openbuilds software a great piece of kit especially when used with Vectric Desktop. Perhaps you can help me out as I have a slight problem! have you ever come across a failure halfway through a job where by a loss of coms between the PC and Blackbox controller has caused the machine to stop in it's track, if so do you have a solution on how to resume the job from that point. Any help would be appreciated. Please keep the videos coming.
In early 2021 Windows did an update that turned on USB Selective Suspend by default, and that function is independent of the sleep/power settings. So if that's still turned on, that would be the first thing that I suggest people address... other than that It could be static shock related that causes the machine to momentarily power off and back on. www.pugetsystems.com/labs/support-software/How-to-Disable-USB-Selective-Suspend-1190/
@@SethCNC Many thanks Seth, I have just changed the settings and will wait with fingers crossed. All the very best, UK John.
Nice informational video.
Does the program have a MDI function?
Can you create custom screens as you can with Mach3 and other programs?
Thanks
Hi Thom, Yes, at the bottom of the main screen is a console where the user can manually send gcode commands which works like "MDI" in some other software. You cannot create custom screens per se, you can setup custom Macro buttons, but not adjust the actual layout of the GUI.
How do you do rotate the 3dview. i mean whitch controlbuttons are you using therefore. Can not find anything on the internet. i am using the last version v1.00329. atleast i getting it not for together.
HI. i have just changed my XPro V5 to the Openbuilds controller and limit switches. I have managed to calibrate my machine (Bulkman 3D Ultimate Bee 1500 x 1000) but I am not able to get the limit switches to work at all. Please could you help me to activate them in the software.
Found you on Facebook
Good look into the workings of it. I’m running candle right now and scared to death to change to this. I’d like to since you can slow it down mid run if I understood right? I just went to a dewalt router from the stock spender. Will trying open builds do any to how the 4030 runs as of now? Would I still be able to use candle? Will it change how I save my toolpath in carveco setting wise? I’m so confused. Any help would be great.
Can candle title?
Seth, I would like to learn how to set up my z probe. My cnc is a genmitsu 4030. I have been using candle but I am giving open build a try. Great video. Thanks!
Hey John, the video on this keeps getting pushed further and further down the to-do list. . . But the z puck setup is fairly simple so here's a quick synapsoys of the steps: Select the "Probe" button at the top, then in that popup at the lower left select through the 3 options to select the Z puck (round one that looks kinda like yours), there is a gear icon to enter the settings and on that page enter the probe thickness for your specific probe and you're off to the races. Simply click the probe button at the bottom of that page to probe and set Z zero. To probe again in the future that thickness setting is retained until manually changed (i do suggest verifying the thickness setting whenever you update OpenBuilds just to be safe)
@@SethCNC Thanks Seth; I got the probe working; calibrated the stepper motors and set up the mobile app. I appreciate your help and your postings on Facebook are always of interest.
Found you on Facebook and shared a lack of subtlety moment with you.
Excellent video, I just subscribed. Is it possible to hook up a game controller to this software for jogging?
Yep, Here's my Playlist for OpenBuilds, you'll see a Game Controller in one Thumbnail, that's the one where I setup a game controller 😀czcams.com/video/9rxnDIVrVLM/video.html
I started doing LiveStreams a few months ago and unfortunately they aren't the easiest to find... BUT if you go to my youtube channel page and across the top click "Live" you can tap into that video content as well, CZcams doesn't like putting the Lives up for Searches Either so even if you search for "OpenBuilds Control Game Controller" It won't show my video 😢
I have a uc100 for parallel emulation (cncdrive) and a mach3 pcb. Do those work with this? Windows 7 laptop. Must use usb to emulate lack of parallel port.
No this is a grbl controller not compatible with mach3
Hi Seth, is it possible to use OpenBuilds Control to manage the GRBL settings on an Inventables x-controller?
Yep, just select the grbl tab at the top and you can edit the grbl settings right there.
Please show how to setup the probe
Hi, great video dose open build support 4 axis?
Yes, with the grblHAL based Blackbox X32 or similar controller
Alright alright, im jumping to openbuilds now 😹😹 getting those values for grbl calibration might be a bit of a challenge. Dont be shocked if ye ol candle is still used til i get it down lol
is it free?
Yes, Completely free software
A little off-topic but what font and bit did you use for the cursive writing on "Brushy Wolff Stoodley Kessler"?
It's a 90 Degree V-Bit (Amana RC-45711) and the Font Is Dancing Script (one of the easel defaults) But It's also on Google Fonts if you're using Fusion360 :) fonts.google.com/specimen/Dancing+Script
Hi there. Can I run my CNC and Drawbot with this same software and if so how do I do this as both machines will have different settings.
If your drawbot is basic grbl. Then it can be operated off of the same software, you'd need to run 2 instances if opwnbuilds to run 2 machines at the same time. But running them one at a time is fine
. With regard to settings, those are stored on the machine itself so that wouldn't be an issue at all
found you from James Dean Designs
I am using this program for my foxalien mauster pro. I am having an issue with setting the correct Z height, is there a video or info you would suggest to get my setting correct? Thanks
Hey Mike, I discuss z probe setup on a recent live stream, but one step that is often skipped is surfacing the wasteboard and since the stock board is too large to surface the whole thing I add a smaller wasteboard and surface that one, then the z probing should work properly...
czcams.com/users/livevVe7fRV7b-E?feature=share
@@SethCNC Thank for the info. I do have a wasteboard and it is surfaced. What I am looking for is good default settings for my foxalien mauster pro in the grbl tab. If you know where I can find this info it would be great. Or if can tell me which ones are the most important that would be great too. FYI, I did use the calibrate tools for the x, y and z axis. Thanks again.
does open builds connect to the X-carve pro, or will I need to have the black-box controller?
Unfortunately Inventables made a choice last year to, instead of fix the few machines with a physical hardware issue, to push a firmware update to all owners, this update changes the baud rate from what was the universal grbl baud rate used by all other grbl machines (115,200) to a much slower baud rate of 9,600. This change makes the x-carve Pro incompatable with Openbuilds Control and many other gcode senders.
Currently the fix is to email or call Inventables, yell them you have an X-Carve Pro and want to use Openbuilds Control. They will know exactly the issue and send you an email with the old firmware (the only difference is this baud rate change) and instructions to use Easel to perform the change.
If you happen to have one of the first 50-ish machines where the hardware issue exists, there's a possibility that there could be communication issues. This baud rate change is a bandaid fix to an issue with extra noisy EMI within the contoller tower which only effects those very early units...
Thank you for the reply, I will contact them for that fix.
With Open builds can you stop or pause during a project, raise, move the spindle & gantry away & then bring it back in to it's exact location it left off & start back up?
Can you adjust the feed setting on the fly during a project???
These are features that have saved me in the past with UCCNC software.
I purchased a new CNC that came with UGS software. Adjusting feed speed on the fly is doable, just not super convenient. As for starting & stopping in the middle of a project it doesn't appear that is possible.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
Adjusting feed and rpm on the fly is done with a slider bar that stays on the main screen, I find this much better than the UGS button method..
If you pause a carve you could then open the gcode editor page, go to that line of gcode where it left off and then "start from here"
It takes some getting used to and I'd only start from the prior Z plunge move to ensure it carves properly.
@@SethCNC Thanks for the advice. I downloaded the program last night & it is a fair amount easier to run than UGS or more intuitive. I will look more into the GCODE editor page & see if I can make any sense of it.
Thanks for your time...
great videos,. any chance you can explain how to do multiple tool changes. useing a fix probe postion , ( using the openbuilds blacbox ), having trouble with ths procces
As long as the $1 setting is set to always be locked so $1=255 then the location is not lost during a bit swap, so I just lift the z, swap the bit and re-peobe the same position as the prior bit. (Kinda important to not carve away the original z zeroing position)
I'll definitely make a point to cover that process in the follow-up that I have planned.
thanks, will look forward to any videos on open builds that you do in the future, but a detailed video on the $1 function re-probing would be much appreciated
@@SethCNC So there is nowhere in this software for tool lengths? You have to re set the Z offset after a tool change?
@@Squintz45 correct, that is the norm for sender software that isn't made specifically for a machine that sells with the option of an ATC. I've only seen tool offsets in stepcrafts sender program and my friend with it also has their ATC attachment.
@@SethCNC Thanks for the quick reply Seth! I have found one controller software so far that Supports multiple WCS work offsets. Trying to find something with a "Tool offsets" tab in addition so I can use a MTC (Monkey Tool Changer =) ). A lot to ask for in a free software but a guy can dream. ATC would be awesome but If I had that kinda scratch I would obviously be running a different machine.
Hi Seth can you do a video of setting up open build on the genmitsu 4040 because I Can get ot to connect but Carnt get it to jog the home button don’t light up but I can turn on spindle so could do with some help because I would love to use it

Hi, any plans for auto leveling? Also, on the macros, can you use variables and programming? Thanks! Also, you think this would run effectively on an RPi3B?
Hi there, Unfortunately I didn't have the insider information about the development of the OpenBuilds Control software so I can't really advise on that subject. However I do know that it is Pi compatible.
Will open builds work with Spark-Concepts XP0-V5 GRBL controller?
Yes it will using the usb connection, I don't think it'll work over ethernet or wifi since openbuilds is looking for the usb com port assignment

Hi Seth. Have a question about using OpenBuilds Control. I create my files using Vectric Desktop Pro V11.5. When possible I always save the files grouped by the same bit. Here is my question: On a project that has 2 distinctly names files, one has 2 carve paths since they use a 1/4" Ball nose end mill and the second, a profile carve, using a 1/4" Upcut end mill. Is it necessary for me to delete the first file from the stack before running the Profile carve? I was just wondering if the controller would try to run the first file again and then run the profile carve. This may seem like a dumb question but it's something that occured to me when I was prepping for a carve recently. After the first one was done, I did delete it and then added the profile carve file. Was this an unnecessary housekeeping move on my part?
also, when I save the files in Vetric, I do not have an "OpenBuilds grbl" post processor file so I use the nondescript "grbl" post processor. On the OpenBuilds website it mentions that a specific named post processor exists. It is an absolute requirement that I down load it?
Thanks. Dave
Hey Dave 👋, The grbl post is good, I would use the mm one because it won't hit a decimal places issue that the inch one can activate (alarm #33)
But the grbl is good, I've compared the grbl vs the openbuilds and they are basically the same anyway.
Openbuilds only opens one gcode file at a time, so you can skip closing or deleting the prior one as long as you make sure to open the one you intend to send. I save my bit name into the file name and use this to double check the installed bit matches b4 starting the carve.
Thanks Seth. I figured the software was smarter than its user but wanted to ask someone who know. Appreciate the reply. Regards-
I tried this program but it disconnects with false com port error on my 3018 machine which uses the CH341 driver that came with the machine. would like to use this program as it looks right for me.
Hmm, by chance is your 3018 on a com port assigned a number 1-3? Sometimes windows likes to reserve those numbers for peripheral devices and has issued when a cnc is on them. If so you could go into device manager>ports and the port properties and assign it to a different com number 4 or higher 🤔
Hi Seth. I would like to use Openbuilds to run my Fox Alien 4040 Masuter CNC router. Could you please show me how to setup to software. Kind regards Ian
I can definitely do that! It was actually part of my plan to do the easel setup, but I can do openbuilds as well, but the only real thing that needs setup in OB for the 4040 is the probe thickness
@@SethCNC Thank you for replying so promptly. I am looking forward to viewing your video. Cheers Ian
So I’m trying to set up my FoxAlien 4040-XE.. I can’t see my controller or my machine in any off the drop down menu. Some of this probable could be I don’t know what I have.
Hi, thanks for your video, i am using openbuilds and openbuilds cam on generating gcodes, i notice on my last project that my actual cut was shorter by .5 inch on both sides, however my design in inkscap is teling me it has correct dimensions. Any idea what might have cause this?
In openbuilds in the wizard are procedures for calibrating each axis, youll need to go through this procedure to ensure the movement amounts areproperly calibrated.
@@SethCNC yes i did calibrate, the actual problem idk if its in opnbuild cam, i load a 24 inch design, looks like it it shink to 22 inches, i use same file using easel and my same machine cuts the correct length
@@joelandalgamboa hmm, I tried their cam program and went right back into easel immediately. It could be the CAM program itself, you could run that gcode in ncviewer.com and check the size over there.
@@SethCNC here is what puzzles me,i have an original file let us say A.svg. the image size in A 20 inches. I made this file in Computer A, when I open the same file in Computer B (using inkscape as well) then save as the file to B.svg. when I load to my CNC, A.svg cuts correct dimension, but B.svg is shorter by an inch, i use opnbdls CAM and controller on both files, so i think opnbuilds cam/cotrller seems ok
i dont know , seems there must be something wrong in the inkscape scalling
Hello, what is the comparison of this with LightBurn? Thanks
This is a controller (gcode sender) software for cnc, I guess it'll work for lasers too. But lightburn is for lasers only and is a design software, generating toolpaths for the laser, and a gcode sender.
@@SethCNC Thanks
I have a saintsmart and I use carved maker plus and openbuild controller software I do my relief save my toolpath save my relief in my file when I open g-code on open build there's no red I don't see the relief. thank you.
Is the relief still blue/purple or is it gold/yellow?
If its still the blue/purple then it is Not pasted down and it's kinds floating in place awaiting you to position/size it and then paste it into its final position. You can select the relief and press enter or click the transform tool on the left to access the size/position settings and you'll notice a "paste" button at the bottom of that transform tool panel...
Can this be used on 3018 pro cnc
Yes, works with all grbl controlled cncs
Hi is there a way to cut triangles?
Sure thing, however you'd need to setup the design and toolpaths in a seperate CAD/CAM software; Such as Easel, Carbide Create, Vectric, Carveco, Fusion360 to name the most common ones
I can't download openbuilds...
does this have autolevel option that works for contours and uneven stock?
OpenBuilds control does not have a built-in z plane contour modifier like that.
Most cnc users surface their workpiece or model the contour of the workpiece..
@@SethCNC i know, but if you want to carve on a skateboard....
For that I would model the skateboard deck, I bet there's actually existing models on grabcad
czcams.com/users/liveuOkIYfrszHA?feature=share
can I use it with controller BSMCE04U " breakout board cnc usb mach3 100khz " ?
No, openbuilds control is for grbl controllers only. For your mach3 controller you would need mach3 or another mach compatible controller software.
@@SethCNC Thank you
I just got a 3018 mill and can’t for the life of me figure this out. The actual work surface in the 3D viewer is showing that the tool path is way over to the top right instead of center. And whenever I hit run job, it will go all the way over on the x axis until it can’t any further. I also can’t move the 3D viewer around and it doesn’t show the model. And I can’t seem how to adjust the depth of cut. Any tips??
If the 3d preview shows it at the top right than that's likely how it's been setup in the CAD/CAM software. By chance are you using Easel?(which uses front left corner as origin by default)
@@SethCNC interesting. How do I reset that? I plugged the CNC in and it just defaulted to that for some reason. I am not, the mill wouldn’t connect for some reason. But also I couldn’t find the free version of easel

hello I am using this software and my 3d viewer part dose not work . any help..
It'll do that if your computer doesn't meet the graphics specs listed on n their website... you could also double check the troubleshooting tab to make sure the 3d view is actually enabled
As a newb I'm confused. Is this basically a cut-down version off Mach 3 software. The CNC I bought years ago had a dodgy copy of Mach 3 included. I never got around to using it then but have just taken it out of mothballs and wondered if this is the kind of software I need when I design something in fusion 360 and I want to push it to my old Chinese cnc6040. I can't see why people are recommending Mach 3 to beginners (in blog posts) when there are free versions like this or candle that seem to do all that is needed to get the job done.
Openbuilds control is a Grbl based controller software and will not work to control a Mach3 cnc.
I agree with your assessment that Mach3 is typically beyond what most new cnc owners need and typically causes more confusion than its worth. There are certain benefits of Mach3 but those are only really utilized by the top 2-3% of cnc users, those people running automatic toolchangers for example...
So unfortunately this software just isn't going to do the trick to get your Mach3 6040 up and running.
@@SethCNC Thanks. I got into 3d printing instead and was more hooked on that, and at the beginning of this year upgraded my k40 with a new board and a camera (which made it a whole different machine to work with). I thought I'd start on the CNC now but won't be in any rush as it seems the learning curve is 10 x what the laser or 3d printing was.
I have also thought of just buying a new cnc but would like to try stuff on the 6040 at some stage.
Probe set up. Please.
Seth, I have what most will consider a dumba$$ question but, could you give some detail to the 3 sliders (jog, feed, tool) on the OpenBuilds Controller screen? I’ve played with them but don’t see any affect they might have.
Thanks
Dave
Jog: the jog speed is the grbl settings Max feedrate at 100% and can only be reduced via that slider.
Feed: during a carve, this is used to live adjust the feedrate and plungerate of the cnc.
Tool: this live (during a carve) adjusts the spindle RPM but Only if your spindle speed is software controlled, so this slider does nothing for a router or a spindle that uses a knob type contol for speed adjustment..

@@SethCNC I still can't get any comments through today either :O the other stuff I wanted to mention was that jogging on a phone and job tracing are also available in UGS in case you didn't know
gSender is another new option that has been under development recently and has similar expanded functions to the wizards that Openbuilds has as well as custom probing, outlining, etc. and an easy layout to understand
@@TheUsernamechris yeah, I get a notification for your comments, and a handful of other ppls. But when I click them I get a popup saying they are no longer available.

how do I set my home position.thanks
At the far left, next to the position x,y,z display are buttons to set x,y,z origin. There's also a probe button in the top bar for using aa probe... but if you want to home thr cnc, there's a house looking button at the top and that is the button to home a cnc that had homing limit switches.
Thank you iam not good with comp

Ohh, yes. I'm glad you got that figured out then 😳
There is a large group of carveco users over on Facebook that helps each other out with all sorts of issues. If you're on Facebook, here is that group..

Who can help me localize the software? China! win10 64
Heh heh heh. 👍🏼👍🏼
Design layout is a bit cramped, all the controls bunched top left corner, 1/3 of screen height.
Massive empty acreage on top right with 3 sliders for the overrides.(cute feature by the way).
The user controls mostly call up sub layers of non-modal sub menus overlaying previous selection. Mixed commands utilising both WCS & MCS systems confusing..
The 3D preview screen is full width. 2/3 screen height, not adjustable.
2/3 of preview screen width is wasted white space. Can't get a decent aspect ratio zoom in, only seeing s letterbox over the zoomed preview.
Trying to identify essential DRO data is not clearly defined from boilerplate text & other menus. (I'm more used to clearly defined function panels, order & priority of each panel customisable from UGS)
Excuse my comment but.. Does the Title screen sort of remind you of Van Halen's Hot for Teacher? Yeah not a accident.. :)
Haha, I can definitely see the similarities 😆
Mine is a stock image for "point" 🤷♂️
@@SethCNC As a long time Van Halen fan you know I saw what I saw... :)
Lots of problm facing with this software no live support , very less videos about tutorial,,
How to resume job from last position in case sudden power loss no tutorial
Well, the resume function isn't quite aimed at a power loss situation as you'd need to have some sort of idea of where in the gcode it stopped. I think this resume function is aimed at an overnight pause where the cnc is turned off on purpose, where the user notes which line of the gcode it actually stopped at.
But you're correct that imo the company is more focused on selling physical products than assisting the software users, likely since the software doesn't bring in revenue though 🤔
qr code doesn't work 😔
Mobile device and pc on the exact same wifi connection?
And if your wifi router has dual channel it needs to be on 2.4ghz not 5ghz for both pc and mobile device.
You have a very deep voice, considering what you look like in the thumbnail.
🤣🤣🤣 I may have borrowed a stock image for the thumbnail
Yeah this is way over my head atm
same here!
Wont connect to a smoothie
The simulation is super slow is anyone having the same thing ? How could I have real live preview without having this issue ?
Selecting the "x1" button at the bottom will cycle through a few different simulation speeds, the top 2 are nearly too fast
@@SethCNC Thanks, I have already try this and didn't do anything. The speed is still extremely slow.
I just find out that my G0 where not having any speed info. I just type G0 f1500 on my Gcode and somehow it worked.
Interesting, the g0 should have the feed rate defined at the first use of g0 in the gcode. Mind if I ask what CAM software was used to make the gcode? And if its selectable which post processor was selected to save that gcode?
I tend to stick with grbl post processor when saving the gcode file (except carbide create where they mis-labeled grbl at its inception and never bothered to fix that snafu)
@@SethCNC I use fusion360 and grbl
hello friend, can you make material for the Hispanic community? is that there is no good material explaining and configuring the openbuilds control program. Thanks a lot
