Absolutely... levels! When Elvis started I felt a smile come in my face and I couldn't stop it! The rhythm of that version too...it just moved you right in at your core. Then he suddenly did that amazing thing where he throws his voice into an octave above and I felt tingles shoot down my legs! No one else ever does that to me!

Really enjoy your dialogue! Delivery is great! Please listen to Elvis’ Reconsider Baby from 1956. Been listening to Jimmy Reed, Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf, Slim Harpo, Roy Hamilton. etc., since 1954. Could only get one am channel that played the blues in Gary, Ind. When Elvis “popped“ on the tv screen singing black music, it was as if, in Dylan’s words; “hearing Elvis for the first time was like busting out of jail”! After Elvis sang Baby Let’s Play House, how could an earthquake not happen? Also, give Don’t Let Go by Roy Hamilton a listen. One of my favorites. Have you heard Muddy’s I’m a man, the 5’22” version with Johnny Winter yelling in the background. That’s the song I would have loved to hear Elvis sing. Am an 83 yr. old YOUNG , white girl, as if you couldn’t tell! EAP FOREVER.

James Taylor wrote this early on in his career on a lark as a spoof to all the other "white kids" who got electric guitars and amps for Christmas and tried be blues singers and were simply not very good at it. Listen to the James Taylor at the BBC where it was just him and an acoustic guitar. He makes fun of the song right down to encouraging himself to play the solo rifs and so on. Clearly this style of music was better suited for Elvis and that's OK.
