Traditionally dough bowls are made with maple or other hardwoods, I've made bowls and cutting boards for years ( and years ) pine would not be my first choice, the pitch may change the taste of the foods or dough that come into contact with it. Maple kind of remains "inert" and cleans much easier than softwoods. Also use mineral oil and bees wax, for the finish if it's going to come in contact with anything edible.... never furniture polish. Other than that you did a nice job.

If you tea or coffee stain the bowls then just use mineral oil you can use then as fruit bowls. You can also take a torch and burn them all over then use a wire brush to scrap of loose char seal with a clear finish and put decorative ball or candles in them. Just some different ideas to use the bowls.

Wow! Never heard of dough bowls before. I LOVE THEM, SO NICE. So glad I found your channel. I subscribed. These are so rustic, nice. I can't wait to try. I started woodworking about 3 years ago and enjoy it very much. Thank you for sharing this. I'm always looking to try something new. I think these will be the next hot thing after charcuterie boards. Smile! I may have misspelled? Thank you!
