These spn panels are so chaotic, they're like part actual panel, part stand-up comedy set, part improv, part two grown men playing with dollar store toys like they're not in their late 30s I desperately want to go to one of these
A little Supernatural history lesson. Spoiler alert. Jared was higher on the 'hierarchy' list because of his stint on Gilmore Girls as he originally got famous for that. Jensen basically had been an 'extra' on shows like Dark Angel & Smallville. Though he did quite well on Days Of our Lives, he wasn't really the main character either. So Eric was banking on Jared popularity to promote the show. The show was originally a horror show with an arc; the same formula they used on XFiles (the team is the same aka Kim Manners team). In fact, Sam & Dean were supposed to be a travelling journalist & not brothers. But as show progressed, the team realised the strength of the show is the brotherhood (just as the friendship between Fox & Scully) so they started to focus on that especially on S2. By this time, Dean's character began to find its root; the strong resilient older brother with a lot of issues. At the same time, the fandom was crazy about Wincest (coz J2 was just too adorable to ignore). Also the rise of some creepy fans including the infamous 'Stephanie Ware'. The shows was still unstable in S3 (was facing cancellation) so the team threw in the best cliffhanger of the series; Dean going to hell. And then the whole series skyrocketed when Castiel appeared. The way Misha decided to portray Castiel was the 'saving grace' of the whole series.Castiel was suppose to be this powerful ancient stoic soldier (why Misha decided to lower his voice).I bet he was chosen because of 'Alexis Drazen'. Instead Misha channel his enigmatic younger brother, Sasha. The scene where Castiel just nanchalantly reading after putting Bobby down; that was Misha. It wasn't in the original script. Cas was suppose to be only in a few scene. I think the original plan was to make him into some sort of accidental villain (think Gadreel). Anna was suppose to be the boys go-to angel.(Just as Missouri was but replaced by Bobby because the actress dropped out) But Cas became indispensable & Team Freewill was born. The 5 season arc was never really an actual arc. Eric thought the show could last at least 5 season, so he build an arc around Sam.Something a showrunner does when they want to promote their show to the TV exec.It's like saying "no, please don't cancel it yet coz we need 5 seasons to tell the full story'. So those fan who say the show suppose to end in S5, they are wrong.Same thing is happening to Sleepy Hollow now; those who knows the show knows about the 7 years tribulation understand that the showrunner is gunning for 7 seasons and beyond. S6 & S7 were not as bad as some fans claimed. But a lot complained because Sera,Edlund & Singer decided to do a 'reboot'by getting rid of the two most important thing in SPN verse; Baby & Bobby. In fact, the show starts to evolve with better cinematic experience in S6 & S7 with some of the most memorable eps such as 'French Mistake', 'Frontierland', 'The Man Who Would Be King' & 'Death Door'. Sera also did a few fan service & strenghten the Destiel subtext. The scene at the car when Dean gave Cas the coat, it was suppose to be more emotional than that. But Jensen, who had been playing Dean all those times belives it would be OOC of Dean & ask for a scene rewrite. In some ways I do agree with Jensen; Dean never really goes for the chick flick moments. However, the fan hate was strong at Sera & she left with Edlund. I'm sad at this because I adore Sera & she's with the team since S1. & a bit dissappointed with some female fans who think it is ok to 'bully' another female. Which is sadly a darker side of the fandom. I never understood why. Many SPN actress got the brunt of it; Alona, Julie, Snooki and especially Genevieve (Yep, the fake Ruby that Sam married) When Jeremy took over he gave back Dean's Baby & a new fort (to replace Bobby's house). S8 was going well, S9 was okay & S10 showed a slight decline (but 200th was special). S11 was pretty dull actually except for Baby, Safe House & Don't Call Me Shurley. After such theatrical cliffhanger of S8, S9 & S10, S11 cliffhanger was a bit dissapointing. So there is it. Hope you read till the end.
I read the whole thing. Very interesting. I think Misha is the biggest asset to the show. I don't care much for the girls. I'm tuning in to watch my boys. I have never seen a female actor I liked except Ellen, Missouri, Charlie, Jody and Donna. I will be brutally honest. I think Gen is nice, but her acting didn't impress me. I love slash but I think the destiel-is-canon thing is getting out of hand. BTW, some anti-Sera stuff came from Jensen. I never quite approved. I think the show will end soon because Jensen is having twins. I am so happy. I'll miss the show but not the ship wars. I loved wincest but never got a chance to love destiel because of the volatility of the shippers. its a ship. Not a religion. Thanks for the comment. Nicely written.
Diane Winchester Why would you say anti Sera thing came from Jensen? The only incident I knew of was he made a statement in an article about Dean's character & many blame Sera for it. And yes, about the trench coat scene too. I think they had a good professional relationship. I agree in some scene Gen was not that good but she was effective enough that fans are not really sure she was evil or not in the first place. Destiel 'war' is still mild if compare to SamGirl vs DeanGirl a long time ago. >_

Then there was the infamous trenchcoat scene which he talked about at Jibcon, saying that he, Misha and Bob had laughed about the dialogue. Then he said that, as a woman, she couldn't right male dialogue. Even if he was right, many felt that you don't treat your show runner like that in public, because he never did that to Eric. I love Jensen. But I don't expect perfection from him. Not hating, just pointing out that he is as imperfect as everyone else. I saw a movie with Gen, about teen America. She didn't do well. I'm not saying that she's a bad person. I'm just saying that her work didn't impress "me". In fact, many people said her Ruby was too soft as opposed to the previous actor. Just giving my opinion. The writers who were bombarded by destiel shippers for the past few years, are very careful about destiel. The latest one is guest director Guy Bee Norman. I think thats his name. He said the wrong thing on Twitter. I don't know when last I heard about SamGirl vs DeanGirl. I didn't even know it was a thing. Its been 12 years. Jensen hasn't had much time with JJ. I think he might want to spend more time with the new babies. Jared also once mentioned wanting to end to show on a high note rather than "being booed off the stage". Just conjecture. Nobody knows for sure. But it wouldn't be prudent to expect the show to last. People like me are just bracing ourselves for the inevitable.
Jensen has what's known as a very "dry" sense of humor, very deadpan humor, so he sounds serious when he's just goofing around. If he were truly annoyed he wouldn't crack up as much as he does, and adopt silly expressions. He is extremely fond of Jared, and they have a big/little brother dynamic in real life.
I know some people in the comments section of CZcams get upset about this, but I absolutely love how J2M interrupts eachother and fans. I see people say that's so rude, but I've talked to fans who it happened to and they say it's hilarious!!
Jensen's humor is so deadpan and sarcastic, it kind of reminds me of my dad's humor, so I think I'd get along with him really well. Of course, I'll never get to meet him, or any of the cast of Supernatural, because my parents are devout Christians who don't approve of the show. So I guess CZcams videos is all I get.
