Looks like this was only the fourth episode of Dennis Miller's talk show. This one was syndicated and was cancelled after 6 months. His HBO show launched 2 years later and was much more successful, lasting 8 years. Although that one produced episodes at a much slower rate, and only made 215 episodes compared to him cranking out 125 in just 6 months on that first show.
