I did not have prior knowledge about the Church of the East. I learned interesting and sad points from this and the previous show. Thanks Pierre Younan! You are smart and humble!

Great episode, but I do want to clarify that the belief that most bishops within the Assyrian Church being Nochiyaye is not correct, For instance Mar Gewargis Sliwa is an Ashetnaya (Under the Tiyari branch), and he's even related to the former patriarch of the ancient church, Mar Addai. Another one is Mar Meelis, from what I know his family is from Mar Bishu I believe, and Assyrians from this town consider themselves Marboshnaye, even though the town itself sort of belongs to the greater Shamizdin region where Nochiyaye hail from. Besides the legendary Khnanishu family where many of the great metropolitans of the church come from, the only 100% confirmed Nochiyaye from what I know are the late Mar Dinkha, Mar Emmanuel Yosip who just retired, and the bishop of northern Iraq, Mar Abris. Oddly enough, former bishop of the ancient church Mar Mari is actually Nochiyaya from his father's side.
The other mistake I caught was that Mar Meelis could not become a patriarch because he was elevated to a metropolitan. That's also wrong because metropolitans are qualified to be patriarchs if elected. As a matter fact, Mar Gewargis Sliwa was also a metropolitan before he was elected as a patriarch after Mar Dinkha passed away. All the bishops/metropolitans on the synod are eligible so long as they meet the age criteria (I think you need to be over 40 years old).
Other than that, keep up the good work, definitely enjoying the content.

Love that this kid has a lot of passion in this subject, but most of what is said is misinformation and hearsay. Feels like I'm watching an episode of The View

"All the Bishops" were not Nochiyeye, only Mar Emmanuel Yosip who recently retired.

Mar Bawai Soro was fully stripped of his authority after refusing to accept his suspension. Suspension was in response to him working under the table to dissolve the ACOE into the Roman Catholic Church. While Bishop in the ACOE, he started altering the liturgy without authority.
