  • Jeff Stanfield & Andy Shaver are joined by retired Texas Game Warden and star of the hit show Lone Star Law, Benny Richards. Benny spent over 25 year working for the Texas Department of Parks and Wildlife and he has written two books about his career, Tales of a Texas Game Warden and Campfire Confessions.
The guys look at some of the stories from his book; they discuss how retirement is for Benny, the evolution of the Texas Game Warden, working on the Texas border, and what makes a good Game Warden.

This man will do or say anything necessary to fine or charge people with the maximum allowed by law. While boating on the Lake of the Pines he and Rick Lane arrested me and made up several things that never happened. I wasn't driving the boat but Benny put me behind the wheel so they could charge me with BWI. A friend who was driving was pulled out and given many sobriety test. I was still in my boat while this was going on and asked Rick Lane how many test does a person have to pass? He looked at me and told me not to say another word that he would be with me next. I said yes sir he told BR to arrest me because I opened my mouth after he sad not to. Well BR got into my boat put his knee in my chest and pinned me to the boat seat. I told him that wasn't necessary and tried to put my hands behind me so he could handcuff me. Then he said I resisted arrest and argued with him. They charged me with BWI, interfering with official duties and resisting arrest. They also towed my truck and boat to Jererson. I agreed to plead guilty to IPD, and the other two charges were dropped. This all cost me about $7500 dollars. My attorney said he was friends with the DA, played gilf with him and could get 2 charges dropped. There is alot more to this story but that's all I have time for today. He is nothing but a big Liar and I would pay for a polygraph test to prove it. He would never agree to this because it would expose him for the POS he really is.
