    I am hooked. I am one of those who tried to learn this move and found out I had to "grow up" more before I figure it out. Now there is hope!

    thx after 30 minutes of practice this actually feels really easy now in terms of movement. it looks hard at first but really all itr is is hooking a leg , placing wour wedge on the hip and then roll over your shoulder and once rolled , extend your hooked leg

    Thanks for this video! I tried doing this/samurai rolling a few years ago and tore my knee but can't figure out how to position the knees to do this safely. Any ideas?

      I’m not a big fan of the samurai roll. I used to use it but found that it was too dangerous. I think this method of taking the back is much, much safer

    Hey, Stephan. How long did it take you to get back into jiujitsu after your hip surgery?

    • @StephanKesting
      @StephanKesting  Před 10 měsíci

      I did lots of weight training and hiking to recover. I started doing easy drilling at 3 months and gentle sparring at 6 months. I really wanted everything to become super stable first

      @StephanKesting you look amazing, can't even tell you had surgery. I just had my second hip replacement. I started bjj after my first, wasn't sure if I was going back. But the better I feel the more I want to go back. Thanks for the inspiration I really enjoy your videos.
