The man sitting at the bar who asked him to spell his name is the original DJANGO. What Jamie Fox said was a quote from that man
I never knew that, nice touch
Yep that’s why Jamie says “D-J-A-N-G-O.. The D’s silent” and he responds with…
“I know.”
The actor was breaking the fourth wall. It was a nice little Easter egg of dialogue.
I never once thought of the "little cavity" in the tooth lol
SAME HERE MAN! How have i never noticed that?!? Ive seen this movie probably dozens of time, and never once did I pick up on that joke?
If you haven’t watched Inglorious Basterds (also by Tarantino and with Christolph Waltz), it’s a MUST SEE
Ehhh Inglorious Bastards is a well written & acted film but it's also the most overrated film of all time!!!! Tarantinos other films are actually way better!!!! I honestly don't like when people make fake war films because it's apart of history & I find it disrespectful considering historical facts should be told proper especially when so many ppl literally died for their countries!!!! I get that sounds hypocritical cuz Django is based on history but also made up too but it works cuz it's a feel good movie & it still feels authentic to actual events that happened , Inglorious Bastards doesn't!!!!! It's as Hollywood as it gets!!!! I actually put it as my least favorite Tarantino film for those reasons I mentioned!!!!
As far as all Tarantino films this is my list considering I'm a cinephile & a actual OG Tarantino fan from the 90's & I been watching his films as a kid ever since Pulp Fiction came out in 94 on VHS & my mom's bf rented it , this is his movies ranked in my order :
1# Reservoir Dogs
2# Pulp Fiction
3# From Dusk Till Dawn
4# Django Unchained
5# Once Upon A Time In Hollywood
6# Kill Bill
7# Jackie Brown
8# The Hateful Eight
9# Inglorious Bastards
10# Death Proof
Four Rooms & Natural Born Killers & True Romance & Desperado are all written by him & are also good but u can tell that they aren't really Tarantino - ish as much so I can't count them!!!! From Dusk Till Dawn isn't directed by him either but it's still all him considering he starred in it & wrote it & picked the cast & music , he just didn't direct it!!!!!!
I'm not sure if you girls realize this, but the way you change certain scenes to black and white, almost cartoonish is a Tarantino trait. That is how he kept many of his films R rated, especially Kill Bill. Too much blood and it wouldn't have kept it's R rating. Well done.
He also did that in natural born killers too i believe
@@little_kawala_baby5761Tarantino did not direct Natural Born Killers. He didn’t even write the screenplay, only the original story was his. The final film was Oliver Stone.
Yea his prolific use of blood spray on deaths tends to make the rating board wanna give his movies an X rating for extreme gore but the black and white helps keep it with an r rating because I guess it's supposed to be less bloody looking without color or some dumb reasoning like that. Tarantino is an amazing writer and director
First time ive saw that. The version released in the UK doesnt have back and white in those scenes
I was SO happy to see both of you laughing at my favorite scene. "Bye miss Laura..." BOOM!
i love this movie so much. like most quinton movies...the dialog is fantastic lol. Steven is really the "brains" of Candy-Land. Calvin was born into ownership....but Steven runs the place. Such great characters and writing
He was the smartest one of them all, he played himself to a secret master of the house
Only Tarantino has the brain and balls to write characters like that
@@gingerbaker_toad696 It's like so many characters that find themselves in a perfect spot. Tywin Lannister was never King, but he ruled as a part of 4 Kings. Mad King, Robert, Joffrey, Tommen. Either as Hand of the King or simply a grandfather, his word moved kingdoms. Everyone wants to kill the king, but never the one who runs it from the shadows.
I love the "easter eggs" in this film as Franco Nero appears in the wrestling scene who played Django in the 1966 movie and the end music from a Terence Hill movie who also played Django in 1968.
Terence Hill… MY NAME IS TRINITY! One of my favorite films!
Its slightly better than that. When franco nero’s character asks him to spell his name, Django does, then says ‘the d is silent’. And franco nero’s character replies ‘i know’. And of course he does - he was the original django. And his tone in the reply is perfect. Hes not acknowledging the spelling tip. Hes saying ‘im very familiar with the name’.
@@tileuxI was hoping someone would mention that😁
There's actually a funny joke/easter egg in the credits too.
The man with the white beard and brown top hat who gawks at Schultz and Django is Russ Tamblyn who was in the western Son of a Gunfighter. His daughter Amber was the girl peering through the window. They're credited as "Son of a Gunfighter" and "Daughter of the Son of a Gunfighter."
Fun fact: At 12:15 the man who says ''Not too good'' and then continues speaking is actually Quinten Tarantino. Meaning he had two cameos in his own movie because he was also at the very end, playing one of the Australians.
Hahaha, I never knew this.
It's unreasonable how talented Tarantino is in every way.
He is dumb
“BYE MISS LAURA!” 😂🤣😭🎯
Definitely one of QT’s best films!
Oh shit! Tarantino doesn't miss.
Home run every time
And neither does Django 😂
39:44. I like when he makes his appearance in the movies
Another great reaction guys. I wasn’t expecting the “looks like he has a little cavity” comment…so clever and it made me lol!
During one of the early takes Leo actually cut his hand on the glass and Tarantino thought it would add to the tone of the scenes, so they ended up actually implementing it into the scene. But the scene you see in the movie isn't actually the improvised incident but rather the improved and planned version of it, despite what people say.
Didn’t know that and was looking through the comments for someone to mention this, thanks
Actually Tarantino didn't want to keep rolling but it was Leo who did.
@queencerseilannister3519 yep, I've heard from a couple of different places that it was Leo who accidentally cut his hand and he just kept going and the look of shock and terror on Kerry Washington's face is pretty much her genuine reaction. Whatever happened, its an wild scene 😂
That makes a lot of sense because idc who you are you likely aren't gonna be fine with someone wiping their blood all over your face like that! Idc how into the scene you were or none of that unexpectedly getting actual blood smeared over your eyes mouth by someone? Nah.
@alexanderthegreat5649 Wow, you seem pretty fired up, brotha. We all are just movie geeks having fun talking about a great scene here. Kinda ruins it when someone just has to jump in and tell everyone they are stupid for commenting what they have heard or read. Instead of Alexander the Great, maybe you should call yourself Napoleon.
Rumor has it you can find a Steven working in most American police forces 😂
Christoph Waltz(Dr. King Schultz) is such a badass talker. He could recite the phone book while on mollasses and it would still be riveting.
Seeing him dead in the barn at the end is sooooooo sad
He’s fantastic in both Tarantino films he’s in
Christophe Waltz ♥️
I love the doctors reason to help django because in his eyes he quite literally has a hero in front of him thus he needs to help him
Great movie...absolutely great reaction! Thanks so much, for sharing this with us!
Stephen is smart and a part of this because he's in a position of personal safety and power and people given that option often are willing to ignore any solidarity with the people they go on to abuse. You can see the same thing happening in the British Raj in India and depending on the era the same antagonism between management and workers. In the late 1800s-early1900s it would have been abuses leading to all out warfare and mid 1900s on just massive strikes and legal battles the atrocities some of us are willing to do for a little bit of power and comfort
You two are great, very unique reactors!
I found it interesting that when he said he was a bounty hunter you had asked how it was someone goes from being a dentist to doing that... I would ask how is it that Doc Holliday went from being a dentist to being a gunman and gambler? And Doc Holliday was no fictional character.
The man who asks Django to spell "Django" is the actor who played the original Django in 1966.
Ah, a classic! Can't wait to see your reaction!
Must watch Inglourious Basterds next. It was our first introduction to Waltz, courtesy of Tarantino.
This channel is one of my favorite, good job girls ;)
Ryl's joke, "that tooth looks like it has a cavity" confirms my theory that everyone has that someone who makes eyerolling puns. Love it
The Hatful Eight would be the next one to check out
You girls are really smart and observant! Really good reactions, thank you for sharing it!
💜
When Django spelled his Name to the other guy at the Mandingo Fight. That was the Original Django from the original Movie.
Thanks for yet another great reaction!❤
So now you ladies have to watch the hateful 8 🔥🔥🔥
Im happy you laughed in the same parts like me, the KKK riders, the Bye miss Laura and others parts ahhahahaha😂😂
Leo accidentally hurt his hand hitting the glas really bad. That wasn't scripted.
Sam Jackson walks an insanely difficult line playing a character who is so goofy and comical and underneath is so insidious. I don’t know how he does it.
The hand bleeding was an accident, Leo smashed his hand on the table and it ended on a glass that broke. He kept playing, and yes the blood is real
Not the blood he smears on her face, that's fake
I remember seeing this in the movie theaters in grade 12 when it came out, good movie, the rick ross song at the ending credits was dope too
Im loving the reactions and actually watching and comprehending the movies!! Great channel girls!!
Love watching you guys react. 2 beautiful women with genuine reactions.
The man at the bar says "I know" because he played Django first!
Pulp Fiction
Django Unchained
Inglorious Basterds
Tarantino's Timeless Trio❤
11:51 "Looks like he has a little cavity!" 😍
Such a Great movie, when I rented it I watched it 3 times in 2 days...lol
You 2 keep it ryl, I mean, real. I like the honest reactions, & the expressions on your faces.
All time favorite reaction is when Ellis Brittle gets hollowed out and his blood sprays onto the cotton:
"And I'm positive he's dead." I missed that until I read a posting on this clip where someone pointed out that Django heard a new word, learned a new word, and applied the new word within 5 seconds.
Absolutely loved your reaction!!
Great video girls 🎉👏 and good luck to you moving forward.
Such a great movie!! Love your reactions!!
Didn't really want to watch this one again but it's you girls so here I am.😅
billy crash played by Walton Goggins also plays the role of Venus Van Dam in Sons of Anarchy and also plays the role of Sheriff Chris Mannix in The Hateful Eight
The rawness and the reality of this movie makes it awesome!!!
Yes 💜
Love how everyone who watches the bag scene is asks, “Is that Jonah Hill?”
Great reaction! Looking forward to more and hope you will continue through Tarantino’s films. They are all amazing!
virtual hug!! 🤗 byeee ❤️
An outstanding movie...I never get tired of this one.
this a fun one
theater experience on this one was top notch
How tf did I not realize the cavity joke with the tooth on top of the cart? Like, a hole in a tooth where things can be lodged into. I've seen this movie so many times, and have seen so many reviews and reactions to this film, but I've never picked up on it. Ffs, Schultz was a *DENTIST* . Tarantino couldn't have made it more obvious. How have I never noticed that??? I genuinely question my mental sharpness. Well done queens, your review literally enlightened me to view this film through a different perspective. So thank you, your knowledge increased my understanding of this film.
The guy who ask Hamue Fox to spell “Django” is the original Django, that’s why he says “I know the D silent”
The final song is from an ITA-Western movie They Call Me Trinity (1970) huge fun to watch. If Tarantino likes it, you can't be wrong on that.
Fun fact:
Leonard cut his hand for real when he banged on the table but he stayed in character..
Nice reaction.
The part where Ryl said he's going to need two canes 🤣
I love this movie
He gone stay in tha big house
This is regarding the opening sequence:
I busted Tarantoesucker a few yrs ago for his duplicitous presentations of storytelling.
Knowing how Hollywood uses actors to...connect the dots, I'm surprised it took me this long to connect these!
One of the Speck brothers played 'Mikey', best friend of Axel Foley in 'Beverly Hills Cop'.
The other Speck brother played 'Ganz', enemy of Reggie Hammond in '48 Hrs '.
Understand that there is much more method to Quentin's madness than just this...
If you pause at 17:28 it looks like your hair is Jammie's body, if he was a crow LOL
lol, you're right.
39:15 So the guy that got blown up with TNT that let him go after Django got captured was the director and writer of this.
4:26 how you go from dentist to bounty hunter? easy! you go to America of course
I’m sure someone mentioned this but Leo actually cut his hand in that scene but he didn’t break character. They kept it in.
i only just realized how triggered the harpist made Schultz before his death scene - maybe thats part of the reason he couldnt control himself and shot Candie - something about that harp song gave him flashbacks of a memory and he was too emotional to stop himself
Nice reaction by two lovely ladies ❤️! If you liked Christoph Waltz as Dr Shultz, you will hate him as Colonel Hans Landa in inglorious Basterds. He earned two Oscars for his acting 🎭 Of course I will subscribe!!!
He loves to rewrite history fantastically
the white gentleman at the bar who asked Django his name was the origional Django
Haha you two rock
I love this movie, it’s so great. Has the perfect mix of vengeance, gore and comedy. Also it’s making fun of racists and slavers while showing them getting brutally murdered, so what’s not to like
Funniest moment in just about any movie...
"You want I should treat him like white folk?"
"No... that's not what I said. "
Don Johnson, man
Hi Ryl. 🥰
notice how Steven really was in charge but put on act in front of the other slaves
“Been a snake it would’ve bit me.”
20:10 the guy asking Jamie Fox is talking to is the man who played Django in the original version of this film. Also this is a remake
Samuel L. Jackson as Stephen steals all the scenes that he is in. The employee of the Laquint Dickey Mining Company with the bad Australian accent (that Django blow up) is Quentin Tarantino. During the intense Dining Room Table scene Leonardo DiCaprio cuts his hand badly on a broken glass. He contined the scene with a bleeding hand. DiCaprio had trouble saying the "N' word. Samuel Jackson convinced him that it was OK to say the word since it was appropriate for his Character during that time period.
Sam jackson and leo was playing awesome,👍from germany
The girls should've mention Leonardo DiCaprio's left hand...it's REAL blood not FAKE, he slammed with a cut on his hand of a crystal glass on the table: at 30:57
38:44 Thats the man behind all of these types of movies. Secario, and the other bloody great movies
when mr Candy's hand was bleeding that was real blood, he cut his hand when he banged it on the table
Since Christmas is coming soon. Yall should react to Grandma got runover by a reindeer, Almost Christmas, Last Holiday, Black Nativity, and Throwback Christmas.
20:08 that guy is the original Django. That's why he knows the D is silent.
20:16 this part is a small cameo from the original actor who played Django in the original movie that Quentin Tarantino was inspired to do this. Proving Quentin Tarantino is an amazing writer.
We don't care just shut up🙄 always saying this sht in every video
30:58 that was Leonardo DiCaprio‘s blood on his hands because he hit the glass that was not supposed to be there but he stayed in character and improvise
You two should know that Doc Holliday was in fact a dentist before he became a professional gambler.
the director was the man Django shot and he blew up
His hand is bleeding because during that scene he really did cut his hand pretty bad on the glass sitting on the table.. everything happening after that was all improvised on his part..
Django spelling Django to the actor (Franco Nero ) of the original Django (1964) movie... that is why he said the D is silent and Franco answers I know
jajaja
Leonardo auctally cut his hand in table scene and they kept rolling. Great film all the way around. Enjoyed your reactions.
A black Man seen in a good light.
Django: I’ll give you $25,000 for my wi-
Calvin: DONE!
Movie over in 45 minutes.
Stephen was the real boss of candieland
29:50 why is he a part of it? He has power. He has power and privilege over and above the other slaves. 'he loves his job!' yes, he does. all atrocities are done, in modern times, in the job role. Nazi concentration guards were simply paid employees and that's what they told everyone during Nuremberg trials.. 'i was just doin my job!' but we cannot allow people to hide behind their job roles. Which brings me to the concept that nobody was 'freed' during Lincoln's years as President. When he 'freed' the slaves, the slaves were all immobilized by a capitalist structure that had previously rendered them owned, lock stock and barrel; to economic slavery, in which they then had to 'get a job' in order to earn money to get back home. Which didn't happen, of course, for thousands of black slaves, uprooted from their land. They remained separated and divided from family, their culture, their roots, their identity. Which made it easier to enslave them, economically. These days, we ALL have a corporate master we answer to for a pay-cheque, innit? Rich blacks STILL wear brand marks on their skin, but it's in the form of haute couture, or basketball endorsements. Corporate Masters.. they still got us all enslaved, my dears. Lookit society. Really look.
Leo nails this role!
29:50 Slaves weren't allowed to own anything, were refused services, and were all too aware that threats of abuse and violence would be followed by action. Even if Calvin tried to run away, or create an uprising, he would have been on the run for the rest of his life, wouldn't be able to secure transport to a safer part of the country, and couldn't even buy a place to live. Many in that situation simply did what they had to do to survive. Now Calvin, having lived a life steeped in this culture, probably isn't actively doing it for self preservation. I'm sure he's doing it to preserve his life of relative luxury. Seems to me he actually believes the lies he's told to keep them subservient. It's easy to call it disgusting, and it is, but it's all he's ever known.
Sam Jackson thought he was playing Django then he spoke to Quinton (director) and he said read the script, next day Sam called and said so you basically want me to be the most vile N*g** in cinema? Quinton: yeah? Sam: Okay "shrug" ;D
