- Continuing on with this idea of collage papers contained in a book #inspiredby @gayleagostinelli_ct @roxycreations679 and @myvagabondstyle , I'm doing some creating with reckless abandon with paints in the book. One definitely needs a drying tool if one wants to make a lot of pages in one session.

It really is a great idea to have a stash of grab and go papers. They especially come in handy for swatching new stamped images or a quick title or label.

A books of painty papers is such a great idea for portability and neatness of storage. 26:54 and 28:50 are my favs spots in this video. I’ll soon have a vacation in the Rocky Mountains and for that I’ll paint with all paints I have and mixes of them a whole book. When traveling I’ll doodle around the patterns of my paintings with a sharpie and posca pens. The pages that will turn out great I’ll partially use in collages and partially as reference in my dedicated book of samples. Eventually I’ll take pics of that ref. book to keep in my Evernote and on Pinterest. Your videos always generate an abundance of ideas in my head!

I agree, several hues of blue and green feel neutral to me as well. I figure cuz when we say earth tones my immediate thoughts are earth 🌍 the actual earth and my thoughts go to blues and greens first. 😂 I love page 205!

Again, my emojis won't work!! (frustrated face). many hearts to you. I have a book - pretty old - thick pages almost like homemade paper but soooo fragile!! If I put clear gesso - or white, either one, on, will it help the paper hold together so it doesn't just disintegrate? I like using it for background and collage but I can't even tear it out of the book without it falling into tiny pieces!! It probably needs a full coat of something just to be able to mark-make and turn the pages! I'm gonna give it a shot. Can't be any worse than it already is! TFS
I don't know if paint will help or not. My pages were tearing as I was painting it. I would suggest gluing the pages onto something while still in the book (putting glue on the bade you'll be gluing it to). Once it's dry you should be able to remove the glued piece out. Let me know if it works.

Do you take out any papers before starting?
When I'm doing it like this, I keep all the pages in because I'll be taking them out to use and not adding pockets and ephemera. If I were to use this technique to alter a book to make a journal, I would remove pages. That's a good idea for a video. Feel free to remind me about it because I'll forget. 😊
