Val, good evening.. I just notice that you have a similarity a little bit with one of the actress here in the Philippines 🇵🇭.. Her name is Ina Raymundo (Not sure if that’s her real name though) She’s also a mom like you.. You both have a little bit same structure of face & i think body as well.. Especially, when you do a side view & when you smile & laugh.. You are the russian girl version of Ina Raymundo.. Thank you! for both of you for saying kind words on our country & filipinos.. God bless! 🙂 🇵🇭❤️🇷🇺

Asking Where are you goin is the traditional greeting of olden filipino ancestors.and the way to start conversation and communication. That is the culture manner of filipino when meet anywhere asking where are you going expecially in bisaya to greet friendly to someone. It also to show that filipino has a care for you. While in the modern times or people not knowing yet about that culture considered bad for them because it's a privacy matters and private life of someone. But for real Filipinos practices it's a kind of treat to friendly approach to anyone without malice. The real Filipino practices are being family oriented and open to each other to extend relationship to other people that are not blood-related members.
thank you so much for this information! it's veeeery interesting to me!

Thank you Val & Sergei.. you guys have a good heart and conscience. Very aware and conscious of local people life struggles & hardships. True it is cheaper for foreigners to live here, particularly in the provinces where most people are poor. Giving extra to pay for service rendered is not mandatory but is the humane thing to do especially if that extra will not really dent ur budget..
lovely couple valentina and sergei...
❤️ ❤️ ❤️
Your husband Sergie is a good person. Filipinos will appreciate your family.

Government Issue joe (GI Joe) many US soldiers were stationed in the Philippines especially during ww2; when kids meet any white young man, they usually assume them to be American soldier, so they greet them hey joe or g.i. joe. In the 60's, 70' and 80's during vietnam war, many US soldiers were stationed in different US military bases i.e. Sangley pt. Naval base Cavite, Subic Bay Naval Base Olongapo city, John Hay air base Baguio city, Clark air base Angeles city and San Miguel Communication station Tarlac. hence the name hey joe by Filipino kids.
❤ your family and ❤ AFAM Sergei!

During the time when the Philippines was under American colonization, it was common for American soldiers to be referred to as "Joe." This nickname was inspired by the term G.I. Joe. As a result, when Filipinos encountered white men, they often used the nickname Joe to refer to them. The individuals from Mindanao who typically requested money, particularly from foreigners, were the Badjau people. They are Muslim Filipinos residing in the ocean, although some have relocated to inland areas and continue to beg for money.
We used to call American soldiers as JOE.❤
you are the 1st russian woman living in samal island you encourage many Russian people to visit our country like andrei mom olga you really love our beautiful country and thanks and godbless ❤❤❤
❤❤❤
In 1948, Philippne President Elpidio Quirino warmly welcomed 6,000 Russian refugees from Europe when no country on earth denied them accommodation for a safe place of refuge. They were settled in a place called Tubabao Island in Eastern Samar facing the Pacific Ocean. To the Russian settlers back then the island was paradise away from war and carnage of Europe. 70 years past, now Russian communities existed in Carcar, northern Cebu warmly welcomed and peacefully co--existed with locals. These Russians numerous of them already spoke Cebuano the mother tongue of Bisaya thought they are modern day versions of Russian-Cebuanos internalizing local culture. Russians participated fiestas and festivals, but retained their Russian cultural heritage. They too held their Festivities complete with parades in Town's proper. The Mayor declared Russian Day to have them free hand to fully celebrate their customs in the City. They find no difficulty with religion both are religious people.
awesome!!

I enjoyed your discussion today. Thank you for loving my country.
❤️
I think nickname Joe originated from American soldier. American base located in Subic and that’s what I remembered when I was young . Every time we saw a white guy we greeted them Hey Joe ! 😍😍
Me and my husband❤❤❤
Like this couple ❤😂
❤️
What I can advise you guys is to try to learn the Bisayan language like Kulas the Becoming Filipino so that you can interact with the people...I'm very sure your subscribers will go big faster...God bless!
Maybe some Filipino people asked you with this phrase, "where you going," are you married," is because that's what they only able to speak. Because not all Filipino are able to speak English. I think out of 100%, 99% Filipino can speak English well. Enjoy the Philippines our beloved country.
Filipino are most respectful people. We are family oriented. Though we were different in culture, but still we do know how to respect foreign people.
yes i agree 100%. and yes, Filipinos family oriented, and i like it so much!
Hi beautiful V and Sergie! With regards to your curiousity about GI Joe and why filipinos call the white male foreigners Joe because it started during the world war II. Hey Joe is an expression left over from WWII. It is a "term of endearment" for american soldiers. The american soldiers were called GI Joe during the WWII when they were in The Philippines. The word GI orginally stands for "Galvanized Iron", which is the primary material used to make military items but as the military grew and evolved over time GI took on multiple meanings such as "Ground Infantry", "General Issue", and later on "Government Issue" which is a decriptive term for US government issued supplies. Later on GI Joe was made into a movie and comic book series and the rest was history. :-)
thank you!!!
@@ValentinaLovingPhilippines You're Welcome. :-)
The term "Joe" started during the Liberation Time when Americans freed the Philippines from Japan. When people greeted an American, they said: "Hi, Joe!" or "Victory, Joe," they're given a bar of chocolate or candy by the American soldier. It has been carried on to greet white men (not necessarily American) in some parts of the country.
If you want to taste the most delicious mango in the Philippines and in the world, you must go to Guimaras Island!
mmm))
Joe. Like American G.I. Joe.
❤🙏
❤❤❤❤❤❤
hi, jow its means american soldier during world war two or uncle sam @ the local person they see you. you are american that's why they call you (jow) 👍
❤😊🎉👍😊
support her channel guys
❤️
That’s true most local before always asking where are you going? Because they want you to help to locate the unfamiliar pkace you where going.
yes))
Sergei is so friendly and does not hesitate to speak to the locals. He stands out..He could be a journalist...It would also be interesting to know what his impression of you (Valentina) was when he first met you like perhaps "wow, I did not realize that there is a beautiful Russian woman living in Samal."
he was journalist in the past!!
👍🤗♥️✅
Male Foreigners being called as Joe came from a nostalgic ferrari commercial from 1997. Filipinos loves boxing and during boxing matches on TV this commercial is repeatedly played around that year and gave any male foreigner a new stereotype to be called "Joe". Plus, because of movie GI JOE which show american soldier so you are right it made filipino think JOE is common white foreigner name but not all white are americans as we know haha original link below for the old ferrari commercial czcams.com/video/qlEgy9ScDZU/video.html
OOps, correction: Belair, Makati.
actually there's chempedak in some provinces of Mindanao thou that fruit is not popular in the Philippines just like other tropical fruit s that exists but not as popular as other fruits for example; bubunaw, kahel, aratiles and many more, they're not sold to markets because only few likes it, or rather it's abundant to a certain place, or it's rare to find that fruit, or doesn't have market value at all
wow it's very interesting! i wanna eat Filipino chempedak and other rare fruits
I suggest you to drink amazing herbal coffee...you can buy it in polomolok south cotabato. It made of corn, malunggay, turmeric. It's very healthy coffee
wow!!!
Joe comes from American soldiers basically G.I. joes, and most Filipino become accustomed calling mostly when they see white people "Joe's" for banter.
You were right. Joe stands for American soldier.
The locals (Filipinos) ask where you are going is because you are a foreigner and you are not a local there. They are probably curious to know where you are going so they could help you on how to get to your destination. I think this is the reason why. But now that there are so many expats living in the island and around the country, the locals are used to your presence and it is just ordinary to see you around 😀 Just my thought. ❤
yeah i think so too)))
Very interesting! What's the name of your resort? I'm going to tell my Russian friends in Moscow and St. Petersburg.
"Russian village"
it's one of the few times that I have seen Sergei wearing a T shirt on....usually he does not wear a shirt on top even on his channel videos.
oh yeah
Lern cook pilipino cuisine ❤❤❤❤❤
I remember when I was living at Bell Air Makati in Manila my French lady neighbor was shocked when another lady asked her: "Where are you going?" I just realized it's just a random question Filipinos habitually ask. Nothing intrusive. "Joe" is normally addressed to white guys specially Americans.
Filipinos call American soldiers in the Philippines Joe during the war and when they are stationed here in the Philippines
Hello!kamusta Ang staycation ninyo dito sa pilipinas❤❤❤ I enjoy watching ur channel 😊😊
❤️
It's something that every white male in the Philippines is familiar with…the smiley jeepney driver waves and yells out “Hey Joe!” as he drives by. This is an expression left over from WWII, a “term of endearment” for American soldiers (think “G.I. Joe”). The term originated in the aftermath of World War II when the Philippines was occupied by thousands of American “G.I. Joes” seen by many as their country's saviors. It had actually started as a1941 cartoon character created by a U.S. Army private named David Breger.
If your kids are born in phillipines. Your kids has rights to own land.
at what age?
@@ValentinaLovingPhilippines well you can sign for a land through your kids. Legal age to purchase for kids. Well as long as the kids have money i suppose.
@@ValentinaLovingPhilippines my cousin does real estate in cagayan de oro. You can contact him and he can network a real estate agent to your location.
Hey joe! ...G.I. Joe (most locals assumes caucasian man as american) during WW2 when the Americans soldiers liberated the Philippines from the Japanese empire. Hence the word "hey joe" has been passed down through generation as white foreigner man
GI Joe is a nickname for American soldiers, derived from the term GI, which stands for government issue or general issue during World War II. That's why when a Caucasian goes to the Philippine provinces, and even though some of them might be Europeans the people will greet them as such.
I ha
I think the reason why you were not allowed to bring mangoes in the island because they don't want to mix the Philippine mango with other varieties. They do this in Guimaras Island, they don't let visitors bring mangoes in because they consider their mangoes to be the sweetest in the world and they don't want them mixed with other kinds.
The Immigration Officer explanation to him was right…they dont want to have the possibility of having diseased plants enter the country.
yes maybe
Omg! I am a filipino born and raised in mindanao but I got no idea that durian has different kind of varieties. I have no clue about it. Shame on me! I really thought durian is just durian no varieties but I was wrong. Maybe because when I was young I do not fancy eating durian coz of the strong smell. I do not even like going near it. My bad! But not I kmow upon learning it from Valentina & Sergie.. :-)
ohh really?? you should try durians. it's delicious!!
@@ValentinaLovingPhilippines Yeah maybe someday when I visit my home country again. :-)

Joe is the average name for Americans / caucasians. Filipinos derived from soldiers. Where are you going? A way of acknowledging but not an intrusion by any means 😊
