He fought against Captain America's team, which involved Cap, Bucky, Hawkeye, Wanda, and Ant Man.
He fought against Vulture, who, while using alien tech to power his inventions, was still using what was basically human technology.
And then he shows up and finds out some aliens from space are trying to steal a wizard's necklace.
That's KIND of weird, given what he's been through. He might have been distracted by the fight but had it been me, I would have at least said 'Wait, WHAT?'

Both the leg on the bed and the hug in the car were improvised moments by RDJ and Tom Holland. They stayed in character so well and made those scenes so much better.
