Great video, not the way I would have framed it but still well done.
Still think "Rise, Fall and Return of Tobuscus" would have been a better title not to mention neutral as well.
"Tesla & Insanity" i think is more with Toby talking about what he really thinks. It was very much a welcome thing and many of his fans/supporters identified and agreed with many of his opinions. Not to mention many of his opinions politically was super moderate and not extreme in any way, at most leaning slightly right.
Politics has been allowed to enter everything including entertainment. I think it's ridiculous to expect people to continue to ignore politics especially now. Toby's commentary was warranted and was poking fun at both extremes while maintaining his moderate "pro-the country he lives in" views.
Goes without saying I disagree with your (Joon's) view on this part of the video and the conclusion. He didn't exactly change his ideology as no one knew or was aware what he believed politically. And his "unhinged" demeanor is his character or how he acted the whole time. From the beginning of his youtube career till now. I think he is freer or doesn't care about false accusations since he was forced wrongly through the system that destroyed much of his life and career. I don't see it as him spinning out of control as you insinuate or others in the comments have claimed but rather he's attempting to find his footing on youtube again.
And he seems to be doing better letting himself go during the whole debacle and now is clearly taking care of himself and putting his well-being first before youtube. Also i found it funny that you were criticizing his LAZY vlog for being done too lazily and not being rotated.

I see a person that believed so much of the person he created when taken away, he is now lost as a person after seeing this. I think his videos now are more or less him going through an existential crisis. He is flawed but neither a hero or villain imo and I hope he can get better, I think the videos could him trying to get the spotlight again as well but his mental torness vetween himself and the personification/online personality is broken like shattered glass. Toby Turner vs Tobuscus sort if like Jimmy Mcgill compared to Saul Goodman. Literally his own politics wasn't his own but people he asked so I'd imagine it's a bit of wanting to get something off an opinion but also trying to even figure what he even believes in.

The thing that stopped me watching Toby was the fact that I just don't know him. And I don't mean that in a weird parasocial way but like comparing him to other big youtubers like Pewds, Jack or Mark they had a character about them but as the content grew and they realised the dangers of not making a clear boundary. They dropped that character and became more genuine. Of course it's only what they want us to see, but they were very clear about boundaries and where they stood with their audience. They made it clear that the character they portrayed for their content wasn't someone real or to know.
Toby was just never genuine. He puts on this persona for his vids and gaming which is fine, but even in vlogs that persona was still there. And we know and have confirmation it's an act from Toby himself and friends. Even in recent vlogs he's talking about rather serious stuff but sprinkling in dumb voices and just an overacting personality.

thank you for that, a family member has bipolar disorder and it's not that they just swing up and down at every minute but rather there were phases of walking on eggshells to being bubbly and super social. that doesn't mean emotional volatility isn't a symptom of bipolar (manic stages can lead to extremes, etc) but it's not a surefire diagnosis. especially with the rise of emotional lability in younger people due to not knowing HOW to deal with their emotions.
i'm sure toby is on the spectrum, some of his behaviors that are being described as "psychotic" are just common traits of adhd or autism. really feels bad to see comments just jumping the gun on these behaviors because the guy's reputation has gone to shit. and like, the dude clearly has trauma of his own (i.e. getting swatted, fear of offending his audience/society, resentment towards a certain group).

I watched them religiously, even got my whole family into the videos to the point where we's crowd into my mom and dad's room to watch Toby's new uploads together on my dad's computer, the biggest screen we had at the time before smart TVs could play CZcams videos. We'd sing his silly songs together on long drives/road trips, or even just during monotonous tasks like cooking and cleaning. My dad even bought a bunch of stuff from KFC at least once to make our own "chicken nugget biscuits" and dip them in barbecue sauce, and I can say they were actually really good, lol. He undeniably influenced my and my sibling's humor, it was so similar to our dad's humor, that even though he'd often make fun of some of the things we watched in those early days of CZcams (My dad despised Fred and Annoying Orange) but Toby was different, we all loved him. Even as I watch this I find myself smiling at the sudden sight of his old videos I used to love so much, before it falls, remembering how far he's fallen. He seems like a truly broken man, and although I believe he needs to step away from the internet for his own good, and for the good of everyone including his (for legal reasons, alleged) victims, I do hope he gets the professional help I think he needs to live a full life again.

Yeah, I was honestly shocked at the lack of self awareness.
There are guys who have literally SAed, kidnapped & raped women and there are other women who can come forward and give similar testimony. And Toby isn't even close to that.
I'm not saying whether or not he did X or Y, but with most abusers, if you shut up and do what they say, then they'll be nice. If you always consent to sex... then they won't rape you, etc. Their ugly side comes out the moment you stop going along with whatever they want you to do, the moment you make their life any harder, etc. If you stay casual though and avoid ever bringing up problems, just keep your mouth shut and open your legs whenever they want...then yeah, they'll probably be nicer to you...for now. It'll take some extra years and preferably a marriage & a baby for it to come out.
(And that woman literally admitted that she did say "yes" to sex when Toby asked - if he asked over and over...and then argues because he never raped her, then he's incapable of it...??? Seems like she didn't give him any clear excuses to yell at her either, before she dipped out of being in such a personal vulnerable position. Maybe if she had been married to Toby, had kids, lived together and was a stay at home mom for some years in a row - then her character assessment might mean something, because he would have actually been tested.)
Lots of shitty abusers are nice to everyone else and keep up perfect appearances. Lots of abusers who yell, don't yell at everyone or in every situation. There are so many factors.
Again, just because she didn't see Toby abusing someone, doesn't mean that Toby did abuse someone, obviously. But it for sure as hell doesn't mean that he definitely didn't. Like, come on girl.

I think, and this is just my opinion, his friends told him not to because it was already over. Toby had already put his video out years ago and even had, without his asking, other people come out and defend him. That those people were exes that still spoke (mostly) well of him only added further to his defense. The only thing adding more input could do would be to undo that unless he had actual receipts, which just isn't possible for that kind of situation (unless he had a video or something, but that could be taken as a little weird). I think his friends were correct to tell him to just let the situation rest where it was since the internet was mostly with him and more traditional jobs wouldn't see it. There was just almost no outcome where the new video would make things better for him and far too many where it would make things worse.

      @vangoghsseveredear Před rokem

Speaking generally, people don't tend to believe the man. Usually, without a gigantic amount of evidence, putting out a video responding doesn't usually end well for the man.
If you come out with a video saying "she's lying," but have even *small* evidence to prove so, most people will dismiss it and it will come across as worse than just not saying anything, because now you're also attacking the woman.
I am unfamiliar with the whole story with Tobuscus, but I could see why friends would be wary of putting out a video even if he did nothing wrong. It's a huge risk.
I mean, look at ProJared. He came out with the receipts, put out the evidence, and even then his career was heavily damaged.
I do agree, though. Even knowing this, I'd be inclined to fight the accusations, because if it's not true being accused of that would be awful.

well actually the quote was "just because i felt pressured to do things that made me uncomfortable, doesn't mean i was forced to do them" which is very different. i don't know the full context of the quote, but "feeling pressured" is not the same as "he pressured me", as the wording makes it completely relative, a "feeling" of pressure can manifest itself independently without intentional manipulation from external sources. it all comes down to what exactly she is defining as "feeling pressured" versus actually being pressured by intent. it could be coercion, or it could be something else entirely. it could be one way or the other, and since there is no specific context or examples given to demonstrate her statement, it's impossible to actually know which it is. she says he gets angry and verbal, but she didn't directly correlate that to the statement of feeling pressured, and again she gives no specific examples to what she means by that. (at least from that clip, maybe the full footage has more context)
for instance if a drug dealer approached me on the street and tried to convince and push me to take cocaine, i might *feel* pressured to do so but i am fully accountable of my own actions as i am not a child, i couldn't take the drugs and then try to free myself of accountability from my choice by claiming the drug dealer "coerced me into it" just because he tried to convince me to take it. this also applies even if i have some sentimental or personal connection to the drug dealer.
now, if that same drug dealer instead demanded i take the cocaine or else he is going to inflict violence upon me and attack my family or lead to other serious consequences, then that would indeed be considered coercion.

Glad to see that seems to be the case. Kinda sucks I moved out of town before he moved back so I wasn't able to see him again but such is life.

It's always so strange seeing the people who speak the most, talking about how censored they are.

@@JustKrin agreed. Freedom of speech has always meant freedom from legal persecution, which is something that I will always support wholeheartedly. It does not make you immune to social repercussions from how you decide to use that freedom. I don't believe anyone should be convicted of a crime for their words, but falling out of favor with the general public... that's the risk you take.

Literally nobody said that harassment is okay in this thread. Maybe learn how to read.
