My guest as to the main artist they were shopping it to would be Mary J. Blige. She had just come off dropping her album "The Breakthrough" the year prior which had the biggest first week sales for a female R and B artist in history. And the song goes right along with the theme of her music; "Not Gon Cry", "Just Fine", "Take Me As I Am".

@@Literally_me93 Pon de replay came out in 2005, her first big single. Then unfaithful and SOS came out in 2006. All three charted at no.2. Despite Deja Vu Rihanna’s songs charted higher than the other songs on Beyonce’s album.
Speaking from my own experience, they both had albums released in 2006, radio constantly played Rihannas album more.

How can a get a 5 minute phone call with Mr Shannon Sharpe
Donna Summer recorded MacArthur Park in one take. Giorgio Moroder went back over it and had her record one note held out, not to replace anything she already sang, but to add a vocal note in there somewhere. Giorgio said she would come in to record and would talk and talk and talk, and they would say they were running out of studio time... Oh, okay, let's go, and she would finish in time. She was aa professional and, like Beyonce, she knew what she was doing.
When The Weather Girls (of It's Raining Men) were called Two Tons of Fun and sang backup for Sylvester, they would come to the recording studio, someone would hand them the music, and they would look over it and say, Okay. And record in one take, and then out the door they went.
Some people are just that gifted and talented. Then there are other people who can't sing to begin with and they have to pull ever trick in the book to make them sound good. I won't name names.

That song has a good beat and the notes sound good. However, I’ve never really liked the concept of it. The guy is living in the woman’s house. She buys him a car, necklace, etc. Then she says “I could have another you in a minute “… If he cheated on her, had the woman in the car that she bought him, and he’s no good, why would she want another one like him? I always thought Beyoncé wrote that song and I just figured she wrote it when she was young and inexperienced in life. Now that I know who really wrote it, it still makes me wonder… 🤔🤨

It's not that hard to figure out. She's saying that she could easily get another man not another like him. Unfortunately, that song hits different for some people because that's their exact situation. There are some women out there who take care of those boy-like men.
