I like what you are doing Dan you freakin Dude
Heckin heckity heck i like that motorized bicycle
I just had this conversation with the wife a few days ago:
Wife: I was talking to you earlier but you didn't answer.
Me: When?
Wife: When you were in your office.
Me: I've been in my office all day, I didn't hear you.
Wife: You were listening to that Dorito Dan guy.
Me: ..what?
Wife: Dorito Dan, the guy with the motorcycles on your CZcams.
Me: Bwaaahahaha! His name is Do it with Dan, honey. LOL.
Wife: I like Dorito Dan better.
DANNY DORITO
Do It With Dan just spaghetti-bout it
Do It With Dan, how about Doritoes with Dan?
Hahaha. fuckin' brilliant !
Danny dorito and dorito Dan both need to be a thing
Your explanation of each setup that you do, is awesome. You have explained more to me in two videos than the so called "experts" ever have. I'm a 57 yr old ex aircraft builder/ modifier. Well done young man.
You just made my build alot easier.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I work with tube bending and welding every day for work and it looks like you have done a lot of research. Just a quick tip to help you in the long run, when grinding/sanding the paint off of the tube to get to the bare metal for a better weld penetration I would recommend using a wire wheel on the grinder instead of using the sander. It will speed up the process a lot, in the time it takes to sand one tube with the sander you could be done with all 4 in that time with a wire wheel on a grinder. Plus when your done welding, touch it up with the wire wheel and it shines the metal right up. For the most part your doing great, after time you will learn these little tips and tricks to help save some time.
MntDew Monkey3 thanks a lot bud
Maybe cover up the chrome when your welding close to it aswel? cant see the sparks/spatter doing it any good unless your re chroming it or painting it, not heckling your doing great and i cant wait to see the fin product!! love from the uk
I've always had trouble with wire wheels taking paint off in a timely manner... We use these rubber pads with fiber 30 or 60 grit discs in the shop I work at, and they work like a charm
I would have went to the plumbing supply and got some sandpaper strips.you know the rolls about a inch and a half wide.cleaned it right up.
should i use the mig welder with the argon ? or just flux core wire? for this type of build
HELL YEAH!! I was bored and was watching random Harley straight pipe videos.
For someone that claims to not be very mechanically inclined or smart, you sure seem to Do pretty good work. You must just be halla lucky I guess. Lookin good so far. Love the channel too keep up the good work!
Dan this is absolutely great. honestly man iv been watching since you were Brown and to see how far you have came as a person and as a content creator is astonishing. I'm really glad that youtube hasn't changed you over the years. Keep up the great work!!
This is where I love My TIG. Having a ton of fun watching this. Can't wait to start My build next spring.
This has got to be one of my favorite things you do on your channel. Love the build series Dan, keep up the good work asswipe .
Been waiting for another video on the shadow keep up the great work dan
Dan thank you. This is something that I've always wanted to do but have little knowledge on bikes. I appreciate your channel its kept my head in the right place a time or two and inspired me to try two wheels. I've not had great luck with bikes so far so I'm trying to pick a chassis to become familiar with (magna/shadow) to bob that i won't have to worry about. Someday i hope i get to meet you and ride with you.
Dude you made hella good progress and I like the build series. It makes me wanna go buy a welder and fab stuff up. Thanks for the awesome vids. Keep up the good work!
Badass man. Thanks for taking the time to explain things as you go to!
I did a shadow 8 years ago but I went off the deep end . full hardtail top and bottom rails , single backbone for high mount Harley tank, builders neck and bearings for Harley narrow glide forks. Deleted most of the coolant hoses and had coolant running through the frame/neck brace from the heads to the radiator. Way to much work lol I'd keep it simple if I built another one...lol. Oah and I took out 8° of rake it was a killer low maintenance bike that absolutely loved the corners with the derake. When I did mine no one else could see the potential of these bikes. Keep it up.
I've been checking everyday for this
Listen to this guy "sending off for powder coating" i remember when this guy was in his apartment garage rattle canning his magna and plasti dipping his bmw lol
It makes me unreasonably happy to see part of an FZ8 on this bike! Love my 8.
My uncle is trying to sell me his shadow and now I'm REALLY considering it and doing this!!! Looks awesome, hurry on the next episode!!! Lmao, keep up the badass content
Awesome build, bro. Makes me want to get back into building bikes and riding again. Brings back alot of memories with my own 2012 Shadow Spirit build. That was a really good bike too. I don't care what anyone says about metric bikes. I love them. My build came out beautiful. Got a lot of compliments. When I was done, you couldn't even tell it was a Honda. Looked and sounded like a Harley. Wish I could send you some photos. Great job!
Congrats bro! You got a lot of work done within a short amount of time. I really appreciate the amount of work you put in purely for the entertainment of your fans! Thanks to you I get to chill here in my pajamas and learn about building a bike :D
Im liking the Bobber and the build yr doing awesome👍
Wow I learned so much about tube bending today... Thanks Dan!
Well done man! Thanks for the shared knowledge and experience!
Need more build action really enjoy it good work man!!
this series has me hyped
Excellent video brother. Keep up the great work
Dan you should think about just relocating the bar hand controls like the starter, blinkers, headlight etc. Just put them on the frame shrouds or wherever with switches and push button. Really cleans up the bars and makes it look way better imo.
Great work man love this build !
Looking pretty dope already man.
Love what you did with the bike
The most relaxing welding clip
Dude you're really going at it like a boss. I knew you knew your way around some tools, but that's really pro work you're doing here. Also, the editing in this video rocked.
professional work? Cut the tube out of the plate, and insert one of a smaller section!? Regardless of the quality of the metal...it will be🤔
I have a 1984 Honda Shadow 500 and they look badass as bobbers
LOVE this series
TJ is a sick site I've been waiting for a exhaust I like to go back on discount
Dan my man I don’t know why but while I was watching your video, I had this thought, I love you, you’re one of my favorite CZcamsrs even tho I don’t ride motorcycles, I like watching your videos, I wanna be able to do the things you do (ride nice cars and motorcycles and customize them, but I’m a broke private in the army haha)
Matthew Rivas #pvtproblems lmao
M
That angle cube thing is effing brilliant!!
Velocity stacks, jet kit and jockey shift/ foot clutch kit from TJ would be great, thanks!
I'm pickin up a tip or two just by watching.
Thanks man.
The elastic property is called springback. The plug weld is a rosette weld. Nice job bending the tubing. Just sell FZ8 links, instant reversible hardtail as most people do not want a hardtail!
Great job brother keep up the good work 👍
Bad ass video and build Dan keep up the grate work👍👍
The music in the vid, amazing
In with a like b4 i watched keep up ur good work cheers for the vids from the uk
Great teacher thanks for the tips mate
Giving me some knowledge to take my shadow 750 to the next level represent my dude!!!
Really like these videos, its nice with a change of pase👍
Hi Dan I love watching ur videos my question is what is the length of the metal bar that u replaced the shock absorber with top to bottom ? Thanks dude
I used a chisel for the Alan key for the front tire. The handle fit perfect
tip on the large allen key... if you have a nut that fits that hex in your spare nuts and bolts drawer. weld it to a piece of bar. boom special tool for removing the axle :)
i like this serie. thanks, really cool!!!
I ain't been this early since you weren't brown.
Great vid as always. I think a portaband would be a great buy for you if your gonna keep building frames like these
I’m on the same bout with my shadow too bro. You just gave me confidence to hartail it lol I got the monostrut on there right now
Dan I have a bike repair question. I have a 1980 sr250 and the forks are pitted beyond belief (mostly on the upper half). I know the best option is to replace the tubes but I can't find replacements anywhere (that are in better shape than mine). In your opinion, is it advisable to attempt to repolish the tubes and put in fresh seals and oil?
Dan I'm watching this build for inspiration on my build do you still have those cut-off rearset of pegs and that piece of metal so I can weld it up to make it my front foot controls on my 175 bobber
you looked beat man.!! I Know a big glass of milk really helps after a hard day welding. it help neutralize all the harmful vapors you breath in and just helps after welding!!!! as always great video thanks. have a great day
I know this a older video, but great I'm glad I ran into it. Does anyone know how long was the tube and how many in before you make the bend? I currently building one and would like to do as much as possible my self.
great video man
Satisfied video thank you
Thank you dan! You did me a learn
Such a talent 👍🏻❤️
Lmao I had just mentioned tj you in a message that's awesome you found him. His products are great I have the backdraft slash cut exhaust from him and the rear fender and sissy bar.
love it so far. nice pipe bender much cheaper than the $15,000 hydraulic version
If you ran a grade 8 bolt or even stainless through those plug weld holes and torqued then down tight enough where the outer tube crushed it self to the inner tube I wonder if the joint would be stronger considering there isn’t any play in it anymore
What do you think ab the 883 iron? Im thinking ab getting it and just wanted to know what ya think ab it
Quick tip: instead of an OEM link, get adjustable links so you can lower or heighten the ride height as much as you want.
Good job dude👌
Subbed, im building a Virago 535 bobber atm, love watching for inspiration! BTW anyone ever told you you look like Michael Buble!
Nice work bro, did you have the original fuel tank ?
To build a cheap bobber could you just use the f28 piece instead of cutting the frame and making a fully custom one? I'm looking to do a bobber for my first bike like this but I'm not looking to do crazy fabricating right off the hop unless it's the only way
I don't know shit about motorcycle mechanics but I love this series. I've always wanted a shadow 650 to chop into a 70s style frisco beast. One day.
That welding bit segment was pretty
what are the difference between hard tail and full suspension ?
i was planing to build one here in philippines
That was pretty interesting & the footage was clear & in focus, keep at it....DWDildo
can i still use the monoshock if i want, or that will effect this height of the bobber
Love that shirt got a bunch of tunercult gtr and supra shirts. Where did you get that one??
lookin good man
I have 2007 Shadow Spirit 750DC. Only has about 2000 miles on it. I’d love to talk to you about the bike. I’ve had it stored for years so it needs a few things like battery, carbs cleaned, contacts on handle bar controls cleaned, fluids changed, nothing major. Anyways, I might have a proposition for you if you’re interested at all. Regardless, I always enjoy your vids, and can’t wait to see how this project turns out!
Nice work bro n stay safe ya, god bless u,,.
Is the hardtail conversion necessary?? Or can it be left alone when doing a bobber build?
Is a shadow 400 cc. Good for a beginner ??
Im thinking of buying a shadow as a starter bike.
Great stuff
Hey, the music you had in this video was pretty neat! Good job on all the cutting n shit
Is there a certain year for that zf8 bracket or does it not matter what year?
I would like to change out my foot controls because I can't seem to find any matching pegs (shifter peg and brake pedal). Can I switch out my stock for the ones that are forward controls but still install them in the stock position? I'm too short for forward controls.
Hey that's pretty neat!
This classical music is perfect.
Ahh just got my first bike like two months ago. Same shadow as this. Figured I’d come back and watch some old Dan content
I like your working efforts, but I dont understand the desire for hardtail. Am I understand correctly that you removed rear shocks system and now will rely on seat spring arrangement?
You got skillzzzzzz 👍
For that big Hex wrench you can take a long bolt and bend it 90 degrees. I think it's 17 mm. Bolt is maybe a Buck or less. Wrench if you can find one is probably 8-10 bucks
A plug is a solid piece.
How long is the bone piece from hole to hole you put where the spring was?
Anybody know the hole to hole distance on that FZ8 suspension link?
I see it's been asked numerous times in the comments but nobody seems to know or want to answer the question.
Looking to get an adjustable stainless heim joint tension rod but i'll need a ballpark number lenghtwise.
Let’s DO this!!
hey that's pretty neat!
I need to learn to weld.
I believe the technical name for the angle finder is an Angle Inclinometer.
Hi ! Could you give me the spacing of the two holes on the spacer that you place in place of the rear shock? Sorry for the poor quality of my english, I'm french ...
Thank you, friend !
