A Fistful of Old Coins! - Rare SILVER & Large Coins Found Metal Detecting an Early American Farm!

- We usually metal detect in a fairly large group. So whether we’re m detecting at an early American house or a colonial farm, between the number of people hunting along with hours and hours of searching normally at least one of us digs up something pretty special. Sometimes we get lucky and maybe two or three of us each dig up something really cool and we have a friendly competition for who got the best find. But occasionally there’s a day like today. Where not one, not two, but all 5 of us EACH dig up and amazing old piece and we all got to take the long drive home smiling ear to ear!

How do you not want to rent a motorhome and camp on that property and dig every ounce of daylight before the farmer plows? Truly an amazing place. And I for one feel like we all owe that land owner a standing ovation for the permission.
Richard and Charley are becoming silver kings!
Who knows what will be churned up with the plow next year and be within range! Hope they go back.
Congratulations Jason on your first William and Mary you set a new bucket Lister for me🎉
Wow!!! What a Great Day for All of You!!! Congratulations to all of you!!! God Bless Us All!!!

That 1838 Seated dime is in spectacular condition. Easily in high XF condition, most likey low to mid AU. Value is somewhere between $400-$600 retail. Fantastic find!
Excellent Hunt to everyone there. Rich Congrats on you 1896 o Barber Half Dollar. Jason Congrats on your Bucket Lister Copper. Charlie 1838 Seated Dime is very amazing Congrats. Congrats on all your finds. What a nice day. Take Care
Such an awesome hunt filled with some incredible finds. Congratulations and thanks for sharing!!!
It's pretty amazing when you have a group that large, hitting a place you've all hit many times, and everybody scores something awesome! RVW's low-mintage Barber half was fantastic, but the show-stopper has to be Charlie's 1838 Seated dime- looks like it left the mint yesterday. I've never, ever seen one of the early Seated's have that much luster and lack of wear. Epic find, Congrats Charlie and all!
Wow what some great saves !!! Very cool !! Thanks for sharing
Fantastic Silvers right there!
Some very nice coins guys! What a great group of friends to detect with. Best regards… John

What an awesome hunt guys, all those cool finds. Congrats Rich on your bucket lister, Charley popping out the early seated dime and of course you Jason on the William & Mary copper.
That is so cool when we have a favorite spot that just keeps giving and producing. I also have a similar spot close to the shore line and it just keeps giving. Last week I found a late 1600’s early 1700’s half real cob. Love your videos keep em coming. HH
Jason the shooter!
The cut copper was obviously owned by an ancestor of Nicksom family! lol
I love the longer vids ... Longer than 25 min IS KING. TY @QH AND TEAM
Nice pull Rich…
4:55 - good thing it was a coin and not a wheatie!! 🤣😂

Charlie is the best!
Awesome can't wait to watch it tonight with Clem !
The 1838 seated dime Charlie found in that condition with small stars is worth around $1,000 I'd get it graded.
I would love to hunt that field with my manticore and 15” coil. I would clean up. Good video guys!

Good day can't wait for Quarter After on Thursday
Hello Quarter Hoarder,Dog Tag Doug,Rich Charlie and Lynn
Crazy nice finds by the time I looked up barber half found another seated dime on the seated dime I think ones with arrows near the date is more of a modern dime size because they used less silver anyway some nice finds especially that jersey copper
Thanks for another great video , some really nice finds all the best cheers from Canada 🍁
👍👍👍
Charlie's seated dime is the second year, and should be the same size as a regular dime. The 20 cent coin is one of the few American silver coins that doesn't have a reeded edge. I've never heard of anyone ever finding one, they're the least minted US coin in history.
As to the size of the dime, the price of silver increased, so dimes got smaller. Maybe that clipped copper was pre-scored so they could make different types of change more quickly, without destroying the coin.
16:50 Doug! Get back here, and bring water for all these silvers we are digging! At least Doug is good for something! LoL😮
!
It just so happens that the name Douglas is connected to water. It’s of Scottish origin and means dark or murky water or steam. It is my calling I guess, to be a water boy! I should change my name to Gunga Din. Now if I could only play the bugle🤔
I saw 1792 on that Liberty Cap
That 1838 large stars seated dime in VF25 condition is $175 wow
RICHARD KNIX SOME,LOL😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Awesome video but I would like to mention that the 20 cent price is not nickel size. It’s almost identical to a quarter which is why it had such a short life. People hated how hard it was to identify without looking closely.
Also the 1938 dime is a second year! There is a 1938 O but it is extremely scarce.
Charlie's dime looks like it could've been struck out of the collar and it pushed outwards. That would explain why the strike is slightly off center being it squished the metal out and why the strike is also so deep into the coin. Regardless it's a heck of a nice coin a few years earlier and it would've been a bust (no oun intended lol)
The 1838 seated dime did have an New Orleans mint mark version along with a Philadelphia one.
LIb Caps got thin later in the minting to save on copper used
NOVA!!
Are you a fan?
Awesome finds again guys I'm yet too find a William and Mary in Wales
Are they rare there? Or does it just escape your coil
@@RichVanWinkle37 I've been on loads of organized dogs in England and Wales I've never seen one come up.And it's the same with the you tubers I see very few on their channels.
@@RichVanWinkle37 loads of William 3rd silver love tokens though but they ave also alluded me lol
Check out the treasure dog of maine. He gets some insane stuff off colonial beaches with the minelab equinox series
👋❤️
♥
Have you ever thought about taking a photo of the coin and then zooming in on the photo?
stop finding it all, I want some!
37 first year, no stars around liberty
I clearly came for a visit on the wrong day
It might be stamped on a 20 cent planchet.
