Bandar Malaysia is a 486-acre mixed-use, transit-oriented development located at Kuala Lumpur
This project is built at the current Sungai Besi airport site
The Bandar Malaysia project was announced under the administration of former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak in 2011 and had an estimated cumulative gross development value of RM200bil
It is planned as a central transport hub connecting high-speed rail to Singapore, Mass Rapid Transit, KTM Komuter, Express Rail Link and 12 other highways
This project is expected to generate tremendous impact on urban development in Malaysia
It will draw major international financial institutions, multinational corporations and Fortune 500 companies
The massive Bandar Malaysia project, which occupies the former airport in Sungai Besi, will now also include 10,000 affordable housing units and a people’s park.
Former Prime Minister of Malaysia, Dr Mahathir said tech giants such as Alibaba and Huawei have also signed their interest to set up their ICT centres here.
