Guys. Please use a much bigger fish bowl. Even Betta fish needs wide space to roam. Imagine yourself locked in a restroom stall your whole life.

Good idea but I wonder if that would cause root rot or just plain old over watering?
the system doesn't really allow for overwatering because it only allows so much water to flow to the soil through the rope. A lot of people use these self-watering systems to water their plants when they are away for a while.
The rope is what many stores use so they dont have to water everyday. Lowes and Home depot does this.

It's a Betta fish. They have lungs! Breath from water surface.

The two red fishes are not Bettas. They're Platys and are commonly kept in the home aquarium that usually has good filtration system and plenty of swimming room. They definitely should not be kept in the small bowl.
