I was there that day as a tourist and i had no idea what was going on lol ..got stuck in central park and then i ended up watching the marathon for an hour .. definitely a New York city memory

I'm from Cleveland, Ohio and this is my third consecutive year running this race and I don't plan on stopping. It isn't about running the distance. There's an energy to this specific marathon that can't be beat. Everyone coming together through all five boroughs is unlike anything else. Thank you to the crowds, the volunteers, the NYPD, the DSNY, the MTA, and everyone else involved. This is the best day of the year and everyone coming out, showing support to the runners makes our day. Thank you, New York!
