    Nice tutorial, problem is I can't see the values your setting everything at. Can't get near to the sound your getting here.

    • @gabriel1812
      @gabriel1812 Před 6 lety +7

      If you understand the logic behind what he's doing, you don't won't need to copy his exact values - you'll probably want tweak your sounds to suit your taste, anyway.
      I suggest going over some basic minilogue tutorials, or even the “Synthesizer Library Podcast” which is a great resource, if you’re just getting started.

    How do you think the Minilogue compares to the Source over on the right? Curious how a 30 year old analog mono synth with digital control sounds compared to a brand new digitally controlled analog.

    Modulation fx after pads takes them to a different level. Something like a 'Small Stone' first and then a chorus like the 'June-60' or just 'tal-chorus-xl' in your daw after. 'Mod Rex' is probably cool too. I think especially the Minilogue needs modulation effects.

    my biggest issue with these is four note polyphony and the inability to transpose the sequence. but presets and built in effects are really nice to have. Can these do any sort of juno/oberheim type sounds?

    Please refer to values on the synth as things like “ 2 o’ clock” or film in a higher quality so we can see the knobs. Would help if the minilogue had a white mark on the knobs to see better.

    • @marc.lepage
      @marc.lepage Před 3 lety

      Yes. What does "three quarters" mean, particularly on a knob that goes both ways such as EG INT? (Are we counting from full left turn to full right turn, or from middle to full right turn?) But yeah, better camera, and put stickers on the knobs to indicate where they point.

    • @RobertSaintJohn
      @RobertSaintJohn Před 8 lety +6

      +Marc-Étienne Paradis , there's nothing to "fix". It's not broken. It's a characteristic of the envelope that you can either choose to use, or not. I'll put it another way: did you hear any "clicking" in this video? Do you hear anything getting in the way of the reviewer creating these three patches?

    • @FerramusNL
      @FerramusNL Před 8 lety +3

    • @marike1100
      @marike1100 Před 8 lety +1

      +Robert Saint John It may be a characteristic of the envelope, but most analog synths do not make any sound with the cutoff filter completely closed. So if Korg issued a firmware update to address this well documented issue, then obviously there was something to "fix".

    • @marc.lepage
      @marc.lepage Před 3 lety +1

      Even in this video, he specifically shows (on the lead) how the amp envelopes retrigger, but adding a bit of portamento makes them not retrigger.

    No offense, because I think they're weak spots on the ML rather than you, but those were pretty weak bass and pad patches. Not much fullness in the low end on the bass, and not nearly enough softness on the attack and release on the pad. It seems mostly good for leads, punch pads and fx.

    • @illyareid66
      @illyareid66 Před 7 lety +7

      jmacatx bass not weak at all maybe because of video but pads and bass are full and inspiring to say the least in person, I had to buy one

    • @hostnik777
      @hostnik777 Před 7 lety +2

      Glad you're satisfied with them, but I had one of the first Minilogues and after 3 months got rid of it. I can dial up a super fat bass on my MS-20 in 30 seconds, or just select any number of presets on my Bass Station. But after 3 months with the Minilogue, it just wasn't cutting it.

    • @illyareid66
      @illyareid66 Před 7 lety

      Iike the bass station also got the vst version with a controller (M-Audio Axiom 25)

    • @jakebutler1095
      @jakebutler1095 Před 6 lety +19

      It's also a 500 dollar 4 voice analog synth take that into account. You aren't going to get perfection for 500 dollars that's just unrealistic. There are plenty of vintage synths that are not perfect but stood the test of time. Personally not just because I own one but just the fact that it's an entirely modern design as opposed to the endless re vamps of synths from yesteryear I think it will receive a loyal following because of the modern presets and practical modulation possibilities it has to offer as well as being user friendly and budget conscious while also taking limited real estate in your set up . I don't understand why so many people expect a wonder machine that suits everybody's taste it's completely an unreachable goal. I personally would rather have this for the attractive price point and functionality then blow a grand on a certain monophonic synthesizer that has become a namesake cliche any day of the week. It's all based on your needs and where your interest lie.

    Anyone here has a very low but persistent noise like a thin "screaming" like peep tone coming out of the Minilogue when you crank up the Volume or the Audio Interface is very sensitive when you are not playing anything? I first noticed it today cause i had set my Interface to high sensitivity and i first realized there is this noise. It`s pretty annoying now that i have noticed it and when i don`t play it`s pretty much there all the time....
