I'm surprised the two pipes are nearly the same sound level. I am glad you included the OPP testing given our situation is much different.
Kyle this is a very important video. We are losing trails in our area due to noise from exhaust. US is much more restrictive than Canada. I also purchased a xtp Max thanks for your help.
Yes, and based on these results, the Krossflow core is enough to make it safe in just about any state i've heard of. It's just enough of a difference to make it a very important update to the Mud Series exhausts.
Rjwc sound great now let's see how they perform on a dyno
Good video it something I've wanted to see for a while
Excellent vid, great job and thanks for the info.
It sounds so much better with the exhaust on it. Why someone would not want to hear it is just beyond me
Amen. Haha. The song of our people
Installing my mud edition can't wait to see how loud it is
I've had my mud series for almost a year now and I struggle with how loud it is. I absolutely love the sound at idle, but when we're trail riding at anything over 30km/h, it's just too loud. I'm going to have to try those new inserts to see if it can make me love my exhaust again. :) As always, Trevor was amazing to deal with during my trials and tribulations with this exhaust so big thumbs up for the service at DirtyLife! Thanks for the video. Great information indeed.
I agree when I trail ride it can be annoying at times personally. Although when I want to mud and be haywire seems to fit the bill and I love it haha. Atleast you have options!
Quiet cores For the RJWC fall right between stock and open duels on my sportsman 1000
I think mbrp suggests repacking at 30 to 50 hrs. Just saying, might help.
@@MainvilleATV my thoughts exactly love the sound at idle and when ya give er the beans in mud it sounds impressive, great for videos but for long trail rides I think I’ll use earplugs 🙉
Like the video, but I have some questions. I don’t know if you know the answer to them but can you please tell me what you think?
1. Will it be louder with cat delete pipes? I have a can am maverick and I’m looking at getting some.
2. Do you have to tune the exhaust? With or without cat delete pipes?
3. Do you know how much hp added there was with the mudder exhaust?
4. Do quite cores decrease hp. If it does how much do you think?
I don’t know if you these answers. I know nothing about the exhaust (except the sound level).
would it be safe to say the reading would be off a little by being close to the building vs in an open area ?
Thx for using the bike i buy at the beguining of summer ;)
Never have I been sitting at the campground and had something drive by that I could identify the db level LOL. Glad that you found some info others found useful to make a video out of... but to me a sound measuring vid would have been more meaningful if you did it from the seat while on a ride. I know of very few people that actually WANT to listen to a loud exhaust for hours on end. The price to performance increase ratio does not make buying one of these products worth it to the normal consumer. Especially since a 400 to 500 dollar tuner is also required for any perceived response.
Actually you can have your ECU flashed for 100 bucks and that is much better than any tuner you can buy. My 1000 runs so much cooler and snappier now and I run a big gun exhaust with the flash
could you tell me how many dcbels the rjwc mud edition has when you turn off the throttle?
Great video. But the only thing you didn't test was, the kross flow with the new q2 quiet core and spark arrestor. The q2 is quieter than the stock kross flow insert. I'm expecting my krossflow to arrive tomorrow with a q2 quiet core for my 16' scrambler 850 H.o. I'm pretty excited! and I will do a comparison video as well... and I'll try using rjwc's way to test as well.
Are the Q2 inserts quieter? TIA
@@oregonhomeinspections3692 Yes, they sound great, but cause alot of heat? My pipe expanded the rear cap clamp, and the whole cap eventually blew off. It wasn't no good after that. Melted as well. I bought a new clamp, and bored out the hole in the q2 core to half inch. It ran cooler, slightly louder than q2 stock hole, but it worked out good. Q2 not recommended for heavy mud and snow riding. But if you bored out the hole bigger to free up more air and still be quiter than stock core, you should be good. It's still loud, but not even close to mud editing, or krossflow core.
What tuner were you guys running?
Great to see different options for someone that wants a little extra but not too much. Its the reason I swapped the exhaust on my quad. The mud edition HMF I had was just way too loud.
Oh and have to add this.
Drive by Braaaping. hehe
Agreed! I was kind of hoping to see a bigger difference but ultimately it's a great quiet core replacement.
Great video. i loved it, i am trying to figure out the diffrence in sound with a dual exhaust system.
I want the the RJWC dual mud slip on, vus it looks really nice. but i am worried about the sound output
Rjwc is very loud no matter how you cut it. Theres louder exhaust but rjwc is more than enough if you ask me. Dual vs single overall volume is pretty much the same but the single has more punch to it
Do you need a tune to run these?
Thank you for posting the video answered the question for me and it's a good informative video thank you
You're welcome!
Why have the krossflow when the mud edition with the quiet cores installed is pretty much the same? You can't test between buildings like that. You get so much reflection of the sound.
You can compare with the chart in the description. Off the top of my head I think it was 3db
Since the mud edition and krossflow both with inserts are so close in DB's does one sound better than the other or is there a sound difference at all.
You gotta be the judge on what you think sounds better, your bike!
Hello, I have recently purchased a RJWC for my cfmoto 850xc. I have bought the mud edition, I love the way it sounds, both idle and high rpm but the growl or idk how to call it its a bit to loud, deep tone is a bit to excessive and it feels like your ears get "clogged". Exactly how much more quieter is the krossflow edition and is it a noticeable difference with quiet core on the mud edition? And eventualy, would you get used to the loudness of it and it wouldn't annoy you as much? Thanks!
The krossflow is barely more quiet to he honest. We've measured the difference at roughly 2 Db. It's simply a loud system. The quiet core will help but in my opinion defeats the purpose of a high flow exhaust
BRAAAAAAAP.
What number quite you using? Rjwc 1050 or rjwc 1051 ?
Where’s the test info don’t see it any where
Do you think the Krossflow would pass US noise ratings on a Polaris sportsman 850 sp?
I cant speak for laws around the globe. Especially the US. There are so many variations in north America alone on how they test and the different machines themselves that I cant say with certainty it would. Now, my best estimate is you sportsman 850s number would likely be similar to the canam 850 I tested and you can judge the numbers for yourself. Best of luck and I hope it works out Darius!
Great video. Heres the magic question though, do those exhausts need efi tuners or no? On there website it says they recomend it, but they dont sell them for a 1000 CF moto.
They are recommended and in my opinion highly needed. That being said, Id call the experts at Dirty Life to help you with that issue! I believe they did come up with cf moto solutions
@@MainvilleATV On peut laisser la sonde non ?
good job boys, great video, adding noise level with engine breaking and full throttle should have been tried, thats where the majority of true noise would be heard, well the gooder sounds...haha. the full looney tuned exhaust on the rzr was very badass, finally no honda civic sound lol. still waiting to add a exhaust to my xmr defender, not many choices so far.
I believe ggb has an exhaust for defenders, I love their can on my sled but don't know much about their sxs exhaust
Hey Michael, we do have the RJWC Defender duals available! They look and sound amazing
@@dirtylife8171 what kinda price they running n shipping to Canada? Programmer needed? Probs a silent core might be nice
@@michaelmatchee Dirty Life is based in Ontario, Canada, and shipping is included in all our pricing (over $99). And yes, the tuner is required to keep you from leaning out too much with the extra airflow. You can check out the defender duals here: secure.dirtylife.ca/product/rjwc-dual-slip-on-exhaust-3/ I'll shoot you a message, but the defender duals are available in the mud series (linked above) or with the Krossflow setup mentioned in the video.
@@dirtylife8171 $1200 for can, $100 for quite core, 379 for programmer....ouch, 1800 for a slip on. I'll wait another year n maybe other companies will offer something for far less. Sorry guys, shit even a eh tv sticker is $100...
What is the sound difference going from a single to duals? Which is louder?
Are you really asking which is louder, 2 mufflers or 1?
Looking for the sound comparison chart? Not in description
You're absolutely right, youtube removed my descriptions a while back and lost it sadly. To sum it up, the different in pipes is next to nothing
I believe I saw you’re running the stacked rjwc. Do you have the mud with no q-core? I was wondering/hoping the stacked kross flow with a q-core might actually be stockish sound levels
@@leprogle85 it's not even close to stock. It's only about 2db level away from the mud edition. Still very loud.
Will I need a tuner for the mud edition???
Yes. For any exhaust.
@@MainvilleATV okay I just order my mud edition and tuner! Thank you!
Do these fit on a 2020 can am 450
I believe they do, you'll have to call into dirtylife.ca and they can get fitment sorted out for you :)
The standard for the test is not being followed you need to be 20’ away from any obstacle building etc on flat open ground
I don't know what to choose between dual edition mud or dual krossflow which sounds louder than them?
The louder of the two is the mud edition. Not much, but louder.
Do you think that mud edition is louder than krossflow? The different i guess is to small!
The difference is there, but quite small. Not really worth mentioning in my Opinion
Where are the numbers
Sadly youtube deleted all of my descriptions a year or two ago on all of my videos so they were lost.
That’s not a bike bud
Different terms depending on where you live *bud*
That’s not a quad in you picture either bud
Quad. Wheeler, atv anything but bike. Bikes have two wheels. Lol.
Bike, money pit, good times. I'll stick to bike lol
