Thanks, you described the reason why it was opened, thought there was a battery. I was going to toss it but found your video. Works perfect.

Thank you so much. I had a party scrabble timer that wasn't working any more (it had been stored under tension) and this allowed me to pull it apart, scratch my head a little, but ultimately fix it.

This was my first attempt at a video. I’m glad you found it useful. :)

Hope you were able to get it back together again. even if it still skips forward.

I never knew I needed this video. But I wanted to know if you could help me troubleshoot my issue. I followed these steps. But my timer keeps skipping forward. 🙄

did you look at the teeth on all the gears? if one or more of them is rounded off then those nubs will fly right by the teeth they are supposed to connect with and the timer will spring forward. was it skipping before you disassembled it?

I had the same issue and realized that the rocker (first device he installed), needed to be flipped upsidedown. The reason is that the shape is slightly different than his, and the arms extend up to meet the first gear. His looks to be centered, so probably a different version. After flipping it so that the two nubs faced up, the rocker finally makes contact which slows the unit to the correct speed and provides the rattle. HINT: I PUT TINY PIECES OF TAPE ON THE ROCKER ENDS TO DAMPEN THE SOUND OF THE TIMER... This was the reason I took it apart in the first place, but then needed this awesome video to fix ;)
