- Sunshine Key RV Resort in the Florida Keys exceeded our expectations. In this video, we provide a walking tour of Sunshine Key RV Resort Florida. Sunshine Key RV Resort is a premier RV destination and is part of the Trails Collection under the Thousand Trails umbrella. We stayed here for $20 per night using our Thousand Trails Membership with the Trails Collection Plus. AT&T cellular service clocked in at 2.14 Mbps download speed and 0.54 Mbps upload speed. T-Mobile cellular service clocked in at 5.69 Mbps download speed and 1.12 Mbps upload speed. Verizon cellular service clocked was one bar LTE and a speed test failed due to poor connectivity.

I have my 1st visit to this park in June, so excited! Ive camped in Bahia Honda and Long Key state parks in the past. This 1000 Trails membership is less expensive than the two week state park fees.
One of the best video tours I have seen! Fiesta Key is amazing! We were there last February and going back this March! Can't wait!
My family and I have been visiting SSK and what used to be Nights Key for over 25 years (even before I was born)! They have always been the home to our favorite memories! Glad you enjoyed this hidden gem!

All I can say is WOW!!! I thought Monte Vista was my favorite Encore park...I'm thinking Sunshine Key will win out!! I'm so glad you guys were able to go there so we could see all it has to offer, and helps is to realize we HAVE to go there!!

Our Adventure Membership with Thousand Trails works great for us. Yep -- $20 per night, an extended booking window, and we could have stayed up to 21 consecutive days at that rate. Thanks for watching! Lou

What a dramatic difference in shots at the start with the shot of of beach, and then the shot of your rig in the southwest. Absolutely beautiful area. Love the Tarpon and the Manatee. Seeing this makes me want to start writing books and retiring there like Ernest Hemingway did. Just curious, had you booked a premium site, what would the cost difference have been? We sure do have our duties...my main duty is taking care of our doodies at the dump station. 😜 You sure made it look like a tropical paradise. Thanks for sharing!! 🍻 Sean & Angie
Thanks for watching. It truly is paradise. It sure would be the ideal place to write a book and Angie and Jazz could soak up the sunshine. Would not want to know what a premium site would be. I talked to a lady who had a regular site and it was over $1000. The site they assigned was a decent site and I turned my chair just right i could see the water :) Thanks again for watching. 😯OOOMMMGGG !!!! Let me gather my thoughts back together so I can make my comments on this video! I got so lost, and entranced in how beautiful and magnificent this place is, I had to slap myself to get back to reality !! lol WOW !! I dont know if I could stay there .... cause I know I would NOT want to ever leave !! 😂 Such crystal clear blue water ! The Manatee was really cool to see. Do they just swim around all over? and those fish, oh, so huge ! The pool, soooo inviting I would have been in it alot for sure !! Did they have a hot tub also? The Marina store, and gift shop I would have loved to have gone inside, and of course, to pick me up a few, trinkets for sure !! 😉 Love the canal's that run thru the campground , it truely looks, and makes you feel like you are on a tropical island somewhere far away ! Oh...and I can just imagine how enchanting the evening time must have been there!! I would have loved to park myself, in a chair, with a glass ...(or bottle)... of wine and just soak in every sunset !!! Oh, definitely a, "no worries, no problem's" kind of place. The sunset pier, where you can swim where the bouys are, is there a, net or something to keep fish, manatee, or SHARK's from coming up to you while you are taking a dip?!! I know you mentioned the current, but was wondering about what could be in the water. The beach looks wonderful !! I would just plop my chair right IN the water, and sit for the day !!! I really liked your site you had! I noticed you did not have your awning open. Did you not need it, or do you not keep it out all the time? I think that you probably would put it away if you were going to be gone for the day, incase a strong wind came up. That one spot that was opeded that you showed was, unreal...the beach at your back door !!! Is there anything nicer? The little houses were darling !! How much do they rent for I wonder ? Do you have to be a member to rent those? Bahia Honda State Park was very cool. Was there an enterance fee you had to pay? Did they have a bathouse, and restrooms there ? Melody, I loved how you pointed Lou out, standing down in the surf ! 😂 Did you see many seashells on the beach or out where you were Lou? Was the water warm or cool ? 😁 Yes, we all must have our own duties to do, and I can see what your favorite one is!! Mister, "Grill Master" Lou !...sausage's were lookin good and Tasty!! And what did "Chef Melody", prepare for the sides to go with the sausage? But hey, I was thinking,...where was the, seafood !!! 🤔 lol Looks like it was a delicious grand time ! I will be watching this over again a few times for sure ! Oh at the end of this video, you caught a Dragon Fly, in flight, zippin' thru the top right side in one of your pictures, that was so cool ! These last 2 video's are , I think my favorite of all the last 9 months !!! Gosh, has it been that long, 9 months ?!! seems like it, then again, not like its that long. We have been busy travelers tho....and time does fly, when your having the fun !..... lol You be safe on your trip home, thanks for the sharing "the memories" with us !! Q- Do you guys, collect anything "special" at each place you stay at, or stop at on your snowbird trips? Like , matchbooks, (if they have them) or Menu's, or cups, or napkins, with logo's of places you've eaten at? I know space is limited, but I would see myself doing something silly like that !! This is my favorite Campground EVER! (Mary) We loved our time there. I told Melody that I was really hoping that you would find some boondocking spots in the area. I went snorkeling at Bahia State Park, just awesome. Lol, loved the way you shared your grilling duties,🤣 I think Melody knows no stranger. She is a very loved lady by many. Great Video.Mary💕Fred
Yep -- pretty hard to beat this camping location. The resort lacks a hot tub and eatery and bar, but still the location is simply unbeatable. Lou

I love your videos! You both do a wonderful job. We stayed at TT Fiesta Key last year. Hope to make it to Sunshine Key this year. :) We have absoutely no luck getting in to camp at Bahia Honda State Park. Did you go see Dry Tortugas National Park is in the Gulf of Mexico, west of Key West? We did not go last year, because the whole 2 weeks we were in the area it was (unusually) cold, windy, and rainy. That is our goal this year!
We checked into a day trip to Dry Tortugas, but the air transport was a little expensive. Maybe sometime in the future we will slurge. Thank you for the kind words. Lou
It looks like a beautiful park. I love seeing the fish and manatees. You said your nightly fee was $20 per night but how much is that TT Adventure plan? I hear it is over a $100 a night without a membership. I am not convinced it is worth it yet, but I am not full time. Thanks for the video.
Thousand Trails has had many different memberships over the years and your existing membership will in part determine the cost to upgrade to their Adventure Membership. We work with Bob Bostic, a Thousand Trails Membership Specialist in a state that does not assess sales tax and a source of accurate information without a sales pitch. Can you tell me what the date was for your stay? We haven’t tried to get into the Keys yet with our TT membership. I know everyone says the winter months are hard to reserve.
