I think the people wondering why Lorraine & George don't remember Marty have a valid criticism. He's not some random guy they knew for a week in high school; it's not comparable to us not remembering someone in our lives from 30 years ago. He's the reason they got together. They named a kid after him. Calling their son by his name everyday is a reminder in itself to the very guy who got them together. In fact, when Marty changes the timeline at the end, George even mentions that he & Lorraine got together because of Biff's actions at the dance (so the memory is still somewhat fresh).
But the movie was never meant to be airtight. Even the time travel's got a ton of holes in it. In this movie, Marty clearly rewrites the timeline when he changes the past, but in the second movie, when Biff does it, it branches the timeline. But this was back when you could make a movie for fun without worrying about it being accurate. And _Back to the Future_ is not only a fun movie, it's an amazing movie that deserves all its accolades.

I think all of BTTF is one singular timeline that just gets altered when Marty goes back. He goes back to 1955 and instead of the normal events that already happened taking place, he was inventor of skateboards, creator of Johnny B. Goode, and matchmaker of his parents. It was 1985 so time travel wasn't as fleshed out with multiple timelines/multiverses like it is now. Great show and great movie though! :)

They also had a Trailer with Eric Stolz in the drivers seat.. I remember reading and hearing Thomas Wilsons account of the night he found out Marty was recast. I remember stolz from the Movie The Mask with Cher as Rocky Dennis … but everyone remembers actors from different movies. If you pay close enough attention You will see Billy Zane ( Titanic) as one of 1955’s Biffs gangs
