Sub count as of upload: 102,449 - Zábava
Some portions of the video are blurred out as the original upload was blocked worldwide....oh CZcams, never a dull moment 🥴
You mad man, fucking love it! Hope it delivered, but won't have long to find out ayee 😆
@@paravarium 🤪
I literally just yelled YESSSSSS lol
Vektor -recharging the void
Vola just posted this video on their Facebook page.
VOLA are criminally underrated. I appreciate you checking them out. I think this will help them get more exposure.
This song is so good man, glad you featured them. Also love the edits 👌🏼
Thank you brotha🤞🏼 great track 👏🏻👏🏻
@@DrewFortune97 @METALBIRB we totally need you guys to do a reaction mashup....
SMARTFRIEND by VOLA it will melt your face lol
Yeah, definitely. And also "Stray The Skies" from the incredible "Inmazes" album.
A Stare Without Eyes, one of the filthiest riffs/breakdowns ever
Also The Same War. It just completely launches you into the album. such a perfect opener.
Whey! You finally checked them out. Honestly they have so many good tunes. Starburn, Stray The Skies, Your Mind Is A Helpless Dreamer, Gutter Moon, A Stare Without Eyes, Ghosts, Smartfriend, Alien Shivers, Whaler and the one they dropped last week Straight Lines are all absolute bangers.
I agree with every pick from Inmazes, but with Applause, I'd go for We Are Thin Air and Ruby Pool
That three stage breakdown never gets old. VOLA are so underrated right now, saw them live at bloodstock a few years ago and never heard of them before, absolutely blew me away
Drew I think this is the best reaction channel on YT because you react to all the obscure stuff that I like. I just think it's awesome that this music is what connects us. Keep doing this.
❤️
MESHUGGAH - I am Colossus,, 🍻😋🤘
Great recommendation! VOLA are special and have this unique way to blend djent-y with catchy almost pop-like choruses.
"I didn't feel lost". When you write something as complex as this and someone who doesn't really know music theory or is a musician of any sort reacts this way, then you are a genius. Vola are geniuses for sure.
I think a large part of it has to do with the consistent hi-hats throughout the track. Underrated part of a prog musician's arsenal
@@BroudbrunMusicMerge Yeh, they're not necessarily hi-hats as in this case Adam uses stacks and crashes, but I get what you're saying and I agree.
Ayeeee, I remember requesting this a while ago. Good stuff. Vola is amazing.
Still waiting for Tesseract - Smile though 🥲
Smartfriend, Owls, nd Your Mind Is a Helpless Dreamer by these guys!
Also The Sky Is Red by Leprous, one of my favourite tracks of all time.
Owls yes!!! Such a gorgeous track.
You should check something from their Inmazes album. Im not saying their newer stuff is bad, but Inmazes is perfect.
Owls, Your Mind is a Helpless Dreamer, Gutter Moon, really any song from that album is amazing
Owls is my favorite track by Vola.
100% This!
Thank you for covering one of my favourite bands. They are indeed criminally underrated.
I list you some of their more "accesible" songs, if you wish to go down the rabbithole:
I am not here, Straight lines (new track), Whaler, Smartfriend, Stray the Skies.
My favourites: Owls and Inmazes
Inmazes is very hard to get into, but you will be surprised how much the intro will remind you of Dancers to a discordant System.
Vola is an awesome band.
yes thank you for sharing your thoughts. I'm so hyped for the upcoming record :D
Gojira dropped a new song, and announced their album release date! Born for one thing. Give it a listen!
You are checking all of my favourite bands and I love it!
VOLA - Straight Lines
Lets gooo! Nice to see VOLA, immensely talented band! I recommend The Same War next, absolute banger of a song!
I discovered Vola just after the full album dropped (Witness). You should try These Black Claws. It still blows my mind.
I'm a big big fan of this band!
Karnivool - Deadman
Also clinging to the thought that you two should experience Nothing More. Good place to start is 'This is the Time (Ballast)' music video (Music video includes the intro)
🤘
Yes and yes. I saw Nothing More live in 2019, freaking amazing live band!
Karnivool COTE is more like it
It took me a minute for vola to grow on me. But, the technicality was hard to ignore and once you watch each band member do a play thro of their songs... It blew my mind.
I'm now officially a fan and have a great deal of respect for vola for the raw talent.
Bro - please react to Ruby Pool!
Vola deserves so much more attention than they get. Such a good band. You should check out their old stuff too, Stray the Skies is one of my favs of theirs.
Power Trip - Divine Apprehension
Power Trip - Hornet’s Nest
Power Trip - Crucifixation
you need to listn to their latest track 24 light years, it´s one of the most beautiful songs I heard in a very long time
I'm so happy you guys did Vola!!! Yay!
I became a huge fan of this band. The great thing about them - they have heavy songs and good prog ballads, with interesting tempo and time signatures. And I love vocals. I really recommend you to listen 2018 album in full.
Damn you did it!!
These guys have too many good songs to choose the next one. Also the robot vocals grow on you, and this is the only song that has them in It
Also the effect used in the robotic vocals is a vocoder and Cynic is the most notable band using this effect on their album Focus, great band actually, they play this proggy death metal, you should check their track Integral Birth for example, great musicianship.
RIP Sean Reinert
@@iamjatan Sean was special 😢
Hey Drew! Can we have you do Leprous- The sky is red please
Big agree
Awesome track! Good headphones are mandatory tho
Strongly agree. One of the most epic tracks of all time
Or At The Bottom
Or Distant Bell's
Or anything from Pitfalls honestly
Love this band!!
This song has more than 1 million plays on spotify now. These guys are going places.
Vola - Straight Lines
Love Vola!
Vocoder vocals is the word you’re looking for. Peace :)
Haken - The Architect
Leprous - The Sky Is Red
Between the Buried and Me - Astral Body / Lay Your Ghosts to Rest
The Contortionist - Feedback Loop
Meshuggah - Perpetual Black Second
VOLA is an absolute baller band! The mix between djent, progmetal, melodies and electronic elements is simply amazing. Devin Townsend, Meshuggah and Porcupine Tree is what I hear. They recently released a new album called Witness. Check out Napalm and Future Bird... Killer songs and so well produced. Thanks for your channel Drew!
Now is basicly the perfect time to check out Uneven Structure frost/hail after all the Meshuggah and Tesseract
Couldn't agree more!
Amen on that. The track Frost is a good way to start. Very oldschool Djent from 10 years ago, but still killer.
@@infinitetimewasting7491 i think that frost/hail is propably the easiest way into Uneven Structure, it’s just a shame they’re so unknown
ON SPOTIFY, YT dont have the full version of hail, and its a banger
Their first album is still my favourite even though their third album is an absolute banger. Check out their song Giants. It was before they added in the whole 8 string and djent themes.
Listen to their first album Inmazes from start to finish. It was voted most popular album and best metal album of the year by so many websites and critics when it was released.
Im still hoping for that Uneven Structure "Awaken/Frost/Hail" reaction.
Lmao did you just call VOLA a one-hit-wonder? These guys already have 2 full length studio albums as well as 2 EPs that are all masterpieces. You should've done a track from their first studio album, Inmazes. It's much more accessible to new ears
They have 3 albums bruh....
Now that their album has come out and is being praised as one of the best Albums of the year, I think it’s time to revisit the band and give a listen and reaction to “These black claws”
Would love more reactions to them. The album is perfect
yaaay, new band on the channel!
Still:
Thornhill - Coven :P
This!
Drew listen to demon of the fall by opeth plsssssss
Vola is amazing!!! ❤️
Great review, you should do their Ruby Pools song and Haarp Machine band prog as heck!!!!
Vola are awesome!
Please please PLEASE do 24 Light Years by VOLA! Such a beautiful song!
Not so much for Viola, more for more suggestions?
Iron Maiden Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner.
Rush; the trees
You slosh ; above the leaves
I'm probably going to be panned a bit for this but Vola seems like djent for prog rock fans to me, which by no means is a bad thing, don't get me wrong. It's a bit similar to Hakens newer material I think, but Vola do a great job of doing that djenty style mixed with the cleaner side of their music. I would kind of like them to explore a bit more with their music though, for example, write a song that's 7 minutes or longer, most songs nowadays are 4 minutes or shorter, I think longer tracks are becoming a dying art form in the current age, which is a shame, I think.
Funny cause I'm getting tired of the long tracks haha
You clearly haven't heard Inmazes.
STARBURN and WHALER
I feel you have graduated Meshuggah now. Check out Archspire - Calamus will Animate or Involuntary Doppelganger for example.
Oh man. Archspire are so wild. Definitely an A++ reaction style band.
If you're gonna do more VOLA, you gotta do Stray The Skies, I Am Not Here, and/or Starburn. Beastly stuff.
I fucking love Vola I'm so glad you guys reacted to them! Their last album is not really "Metal" but it's such a little masterpiece !
VOLAAAAAAA!!!!
Great band. Like a mix of their fellow countrymen Mew and Mnemic and bands like Meshuggah and Agent Fresco
Son of Aurelius-facing the gorgon
It is a harder listen for people who aren't familiar with this kind of music. I would say if she is new to the syncopation, she should check out both Cloudkicker, Chon, and Scale the Summit - none of these have vocals, so it could be a hard listen on that front, so if that's the case, check out Leprous, Karnivool, or The Contortionist!
SMARTFRIEEEEEND please
Chelsea Grin - Hostage!!
Song would rip anyone to shreds
VOLA - amazing! Try some Madder Mortem or some Pain of Salvation.... ....ooo, or some Kingcrow!
Fuck yes. Amazing band. Wicked. Check out Smartfriend and Stray the sky’s....awesome songs.
We need some more OSI!!! 👍👍
*guess what, you have a new gojira song to react to!*
Getting on it ASAP! Can’t wait🙌🏻
Now try the band Glass Ocean!!!
Do Edge Of Paradise reaction!!!
sin eater - deathbound
you‘re welcome
The female version of Drew has been featured
FLOURISH BY THE CONTORTIONIST
Do smartfriend VOLA
The robotic auto tunes style is definitely something to get use to. Love the music but definitely not my favorite by them. Enjoy it because I just love their sound. Straight Lines and Whaler are much better tunes.
Honestly no point in going any other way. VOLA released 'Straight Lines' literally a week ago, it's brilliant and faaaaar more accessible than this. It has the same accessibility as Alien Shivers but shifted up a gear. Check it out!
Pls do flourish by the contortionist you will not be disappointed
my brother in Christ please tell me you listened to the rest of this album
Requesting "Origin of Escape" by Monuments on every vid til it happens - DAY 8
Dude, your sister is cute.
Amon Amarth - War of the Gods
Amon Amarth - Free Will Sacrifice
Amon Amarth - Valhall Awaits Me
Wtf, bro, is it possible to get a girl when you're Prog-head?
waaaaa I don't like things that are outside the norm waaaaaaaa
