💜 great reactions, enjoy the thorough details you're picking up on. I never noticed Joel's reaction when he grabbed Elly's hand! I originally was frustrated that Tess didn't use a grenade to blow everything up...but then we wouldn't have gotten the steamiest kiss of 2023! {nightmares for life!}
I find your spotting of landmarks fun and relatable. I know that feeling. Parts of A Quiet Place II were filmed less than three blocks from where I live, and it was sort of cool to see houses and buildings I actually recognized in a movie. 💜
When they opened on Jakarta I was like "No!! I don't care about backstory, I want to see Joel/Tess/Ellie's journey!" And then five minutes later I was like "please give me more of this juicy backstory!!!"
💜 purple is my fav. i don't live in alberta but have family there and have visited calgary and edmonton many many times. i'm finding, like you, its a treat to recognize some landmarks.
The ONLY problem I had with this episode was Tess throwing perfectly good grenades on the floor and relying on her lighter to ignite the explosion. Since the the fumes of gas is what's flammable, a grenade would've been a better bet to ignite the area. And massive props to Anna Torv for making such a strong impact in such a short time.
💜 Loved this episode, the environment and infected have been recreated so well. I didn’t know they’d got the same sound effects people, but makes sense as they absolutely nailed the sounds from the game. It was interesting to see the change from Fedra to the infected in the final scene but makes complete sense within the show’s world
💜 I mentioned to my daughter as the episode started that I was concerned for Tess. She wasn’t in any of the promos or trailer. And sure enough we lose her just as we are loving her. That “kiss” at the end…ugh. It also made me wonder if the infected have a yeasty smell.

I guess, if enough reactors react, I can get a pretty good feel for the stories. You're not the first (because I only recently found your channel, but having found you... OMG This was a TENSE episode. Poor freaking Joel losing Tess. How the game/show makes you LOVE these characters for just a few minutes is incredible. Really liked the scene on the balcony where Joel is just staring at Ellie, he's so scared to stay with her. What great chemistry, wow. The Sass. Also, getting massive Firefly-era Nathan Fillion vibes from Pedro, and I'm fine with that.Super mad I have to wait now....
Bella is 19 now. She was 17/18 when the series filmed. There was a story that mentioned she had her 18th birthday during filming and was bummed that it happened on one of her days off filming.
The part where you say everything was filmed in Calgary like the bombed out part was shot in Edmonton I saw them build the set. Not everything was shot in Calgary! 😆 great reaction though!
It's amusing to be reminded that the Ground Zero is only about 5 miles from where I live!! BTW no spoilers, but imho the script changes that adapt five of the six main characters we've seen so far through 2 episodes far too much to make the story make as much sense but oh, well, that's the way it must be I suppose.
I'm indonesian. Christine Hakim is a living legend here. But personally I have problem with her scenes (and all indonesian movies in general), they talk with very formal language. Nobody talk formal indonesian in daily conversation especially in Jakarta, they have their own daily conversation words like LU/GUE instead of ANDA/SAYA (you/i). Also we don't have bombs. Should have said "pray" for authentic Indonesian reaction against disasters. lol
but formal indonesian is easier to translate and it is what connect us indonesian as a multicultural nation. we have hundreds of local languages we still use everyday, which to some degree affects the form of informal indonesian language we use in each region.
You may have noticed that the fungus broke out in a flour and grain factory in Indonesia. Flour and grain are exported to various countries pure or in products. This is how the fungus most likely spread. In the pilot, there was constant talk about cookies. Sarah, Joel and Tommy never ate any. But the old lady in the wheelchair has eaten and then mutated.
Yeah, this is why it's best to leave comments after watching the video entirely! I talk a lot after the reaction for a reason. I would never be able to get all my thoughts out while watching the episode. 😊

14:06 ....A lighter that doesn't work in a critical moment is one of the most used cliches to generate tension..... it pisses me off specially in this scene, considering that Tess has literally GRENADES at her feet.....

It was a mistake in the moment, I thought the street was Calgary as it looked similar to one that I used to work on. But yes, that area was Edmonton!
