As a manager that runs an escape room location, I very much can say these suggestions are great! All of them are spot on, including the final tip. If I could add anything to this it would be 'Listen to the Game Master' Generally there are rules or some sort of intro before your rooms, listen to them, as they often contain helpful advice, or flat out 'you can ignore this object completely' tips as they are covering rules.
I want to add "let other people try" to these. I've done escape rooms with people who are very good at puzzle solving, but also very bad at standing back. Thus they take over, engaging in the same puzzle as other people and starts talking over them, which lessens the fun for they who where there first. This goes double for when there are no other obvious unsolved puzzles at the moment. Allow everyone to shine.
I find that the best help in any escape room is a diverse team. A range of skills and experience will mean there's usually someone suited to identifying and solving every type of puzzle. My regular crew includes people skilled in linguistics, programming, board and video games, laboratory technology, music, cookery, and history. One player can spot patterns and logic that might elude the others, thanks to their unique perspective. A good escape room will have a variety of puzzles to challenge all types, so no-one's left doing all the work.

Awww Liv you peeps do just fine! I enjoy watching all of you. Now if we can get Covid under control... AGAIN maybe we can see a few more! After so much isolation I'm sure it must be all the more a blast to hang out with each other and bond over a fun room!
Another tip is to read everything. You won't always know when you're going to need that information so it's handy if you read as you go along.
Also chill, my friend freaked when the game master opened a secret door thinking he was a live actor coming to pretend "kill us" for not getting out in time :')
