Sora’s reveal was “simple and clean.” Sakurai’s action was hilarious too lol. Sora flying and laughing brought tears in my eyes. Thank you Masahiro Sakurai!🥲👊🏾👊🏾
Honestly, just seeing how happy and goofy and good spirited Sakurai was in that reveal was enough for me. Always love seeing him in a good mood. His genuine joy for Sora made me more excited than the actual reveal and that's a good thing I think!
You know what felt so NICE about this? It wasn't just another character coming in with GUNS BLAZING. RARING to fight. It was just....It was just......sigh.
It was Sora coming home and Mario giving him a handshake to welcome him as part of the Smash crew. It was just....INCREDIBLY heartwarming. Sora laughing as he flew (for those who don't know in KHI, he gains the power of flight when in Peter Pan's world), and with just the biggest smile on his face....god it felt RIGHT. Sora would never come in just ready to fight-he's impulsive, yes but with something like this it wouldn't feel in character for him to just be raring to do battle. He'd be more excited about the prospect of a new adventure if anything else. And that feels so magical.
Yeah he’ll participate in tournaments but always in a lighthearted manner enjoying the experience.
I honestly don't even know that much about Sora or Kingdom Hearts, but his trailer made me feel warm inside. It's just really wholesome and the "handshake" screen is now on my computer as the background
I couldn't find the words to describe how amazing this reveal was but you described it perfectly! I literally cried when I saw the keyblade and now after so many years he's officially added to smash! Today is a great day and I hope everyone continues to keep enjoying the game

I liked that opening the Keyhole to Kingdom Hearts and letting Sora in cured everyone from being turned into statues.
Earlier in the week I'd been saying they should have saved Sephiroth for last since it would be like the final boss showing up... but this felt a lot like the final innocent hope showing up to purify the darkness in the end.
Much more peaceful and oddly satisfying.
Can’t believe we can get Mario fighting sans, Minecraft Steve, and Sora at the same time while in Inkopolis with pokemon music playing in the background

Really happy for all the KH fans. I was really pulling for Crash Bandicoot or Jak and Daxter but it's still awesome to see so many fans happy.
I mean we got a PlayStation classic in someway since the original Kingdom Hearts was a PlayStation 2 Exclusive

Hard to think that when Ultimate was first revealed with that large Smash Ball on fire Sora’s keyblade was somewhere in all of that
And also somehow Smash Ultimate will tie into KH lore

They did it. They actually did it. Disney being Disney, we thought it'd never happen. But seeing our precious boi flying and laughing, descending from the light as he brought everyone back to life like a literal angel made me smile, laugh and cry. This will be a day long remembered. Watching Eric dive into the deeper parts of the lore in his Mass Effect playthrough makes me think he might ACTUALLY enjoy all the crazy convolutedness of the Kingdom Hearts series.
Probably one of the best if not THE best character reveal. Truly amazing.

When the flame died out only an ember remained, internally, i was Screaming Dark Souls, knowing it's on switch. Still happy to see this though.

Couldn't have chosen a better character as the final fighter. Sakurai and his team really pulled this off.
I'm not a KH fan but I know how important this character was to the smash community so I still got chills when they revealed him
Well the fact that Disney put dedication to Bowser in Wreck-it-Ralph simply because Nintendo pointed out wrong gestures (and that was just how he would hold a cup in a two minute cameo) Nintendo would definitely put in as much detail to on of Disney's most iconic series.

I don't play Kingdom Hearts except for the one in GBA because I didn't have any PS-era consoles when I was younger, but even I felt so much joy when Sora is finally revealed, it makes so much sense for him to be there. Thanks, Sakurai!

The Heart of Smash was burning out but the last embers formed a Kingdom Key that Mario wielded to summon new hype into the series.
Sakurai deserves all of our 💐. That man has delivered above & beyond over the last 3 1/2 years. I think we all wish him a nice, long vacation. It’s well deserved. 🤲🏼🌹🤲🏼
Gotta be honest, until Mario picked up that fire, i thought it was gonna be a Dark Souls characters...
Anyways, there will always be if's and but's with new characters, but for what it's worth, this is a more than worthy inclusion and one a lot of people did really wish for. Would i have prefered someone else? As someone who never really cared for KH (played the first about 80% through, but that's it), yeah, sure, i know quite a few i would have rather seen. But as it is, this is still great and lots of people got what they wanted and are happy with it, that's what counts. And kudos to Sakurai for making it happen. Can't have been easy, what with Disney and all.
Same, I don't really care too much for Sora, and I'm happy for the people that wanted him, what pissed me off is how I got baited into thinking it was Dark Souls

Im not that into Smash or any other game, you could say that im a very casual player (i enjoy games once in a while). But Kingdom hearts was one of the few games that i actually got to play as a kid and teenager. It holds a very special place in my heart, even after all these years. Seeing Sora being introduced like that almost made me cry 😭 The way he enters, just floating around, the sparkles, his laugh, it was just so... Sora!! it felt so magical, like i was a little kid again and i was meeting an old friend!! Im genuinely so excited for this 😭♥️ Sora will always be a huge part of my childhood!!
Now the real question. How will Nomura make this canon? He'll do it, but how?

Not at all who I expected, but after seeing the gameplay I think I’ll really like Sora
Holy shit, wow! I predicted Sora to be the most likely. I wanted Leon S. Kennedy or Tetrimino more but this is PERFECTION. The reveal was too and end trailer was so good. Best pick as the last character. Some didn’t think it could happen and after Sephiroth it seemed less likely. I’m not even a Kingdom Heart fan and I got chills and almost teary eyed. Sad to have an end to an era of announcements and reactions, but it’s been long and finally Sakurai is done with it. I can’t imagen how amazing it felt for fans. Great Mii costumes and stage too, stage should be legal even with the transformation. Haha crazy to have the silhouette of Mickey in Smash. Sakurai did it, thank you Sakurai-sama!
They aren't amiibo, they are trophies. You kept so much of it but cut the end! Why?! It was emotional.

@@kingknightisbestknight7398 Same. I wish byleth was a release character instead of the final character from fighter's pass 1. We could have gotten the dragonborn from The Elder Scrolls Skyrim or Rayman from the Rayman platformer games.
@@dallascimini3619 or Dante as an actual fighter, or idk take the time they took to make byleth and give preexisting characters better costumes, give Cloud and Sephiroth their Kingdom Hearts outfits, as promotion for Metroid Dread give Samus her new suit, etc. Byleth felt like what should’ve been in base game rather than chrom or something. I love fire emblem but 90% of them play the exact same so I just don’t care, only ones I personally play are Corrin cause different and byleth because she has that reach and the edelgard colors.
33:30 Actually, according to some interviews and/or leaks and/or rumors, Cloud was the last holdout to get added into Ultimate's base roster and for a time was actually not going to make it, meaning that the tagline of "Everyone is here" wouldn't have happened. It took some real legwork on Nintendo's end to get Square Enix's approval, and obviously worked well enough after launch that Square Enix allowed Hero (Dragon Quest) in Season 1 and both Sephiroth and Sora in Season 2.

I was definitely hoping for someone else like doomguy or crash bandicoot but I know there are lots of people happy about this so I’m not mad. Sora also looks like he will be fun to play so that’s good too.

If we would have gotten Disney, it would have absolutely broken the door down, but this is the next best thing. I remember playing Sora in Super Smash Flash in middle school and I have been waiting for this for so long.
Can't even imagine the legal hell Sakurai and his team went through just to make this happen. Sakurai earned a well deserved rest after this
I'm not against Sora in smash ( I only listened to the soundtrack) but I can't imagine what the legal battlefield looked like for him to get into smash. And sakurai gets me respect for that.

Donald and Goofy not showing up could either be Disney won't allow it / will charge a lot extra for it, or Sakurai didn't want them because of his "Only Video Game Characters Will Show Up for Smash" rule.
I think it's a mix of both, it's probably the common ground all the involved parties agreed upon to make this work. And if that's what it took for Sora to get in, I'm all for it. Besides, if any of the traditional Disney characters show up they would probably keep nagging Sakurai on how he should function in the game. From the references I've seen Sora is still very much Sora the same way Cloud functions without his party members helping him.
A shame...I always wanted crash to be in a game alongside Mario, Sonic, Pacman & Megaman.. But Sora's inclusion is awesome, I cant lie... Overall, this was one crazy ride. Smash has come a long way, done stuff that we never thought was possible, and for that I tip my hat to you, sakurai..

The reason we have so many fe characters is because it's super popular in Japan and each one is the main character of their respective games. Also might be some marketing stuff since lucina and Robin got announced for the win u/3ds smash and awakening got released on 3ds, corrin was added not to long after fates came out and so on.

Copyright legality with Kingdom Hearts characters is a nightmare because it is associated with Disney. There was probably little to no chance of getting any of the Disney characters into Smash.
You know this isn't bad, but I was really hoping that we'd finally get Waluigi, since it's the last character. I haven't play kingdom Hearts but it seems good. Again though, it's another Anime Sword fighter, which I was hoping they wouldn't do for the very last fighter. Plus they should've found some way to include disney characters into his moves.
