Welcome to my Kedarnath Yatra vlog, where I will take you on a journey with my friend Himanshu from Gauri Kund to Shri Kedarnath Temple. This holy place is the 5th Jyotirlinga of Lord Shiva and the first Kedar among the famous Panch Kedar temples. According to the legend, it is believed that the temple was built by the Pandavas and revived by Adi Shankaracharya.
We started our yatra on October 14, 2019, from Gauri Kund at 10:30 AM and reached Shri Kedarnath Dham Temple by 8:00 PM. The journey was filled with scenic views of waterfalls and the Mandakini river. We even met a kind uncle who offered us many things to eat and joined us for the further yatra. The devotion for Lord Shiva was everywhere.
Although it started raining at 2 o'clock in the afternoon, we rested for a while and enjoyed some Maggi. I convinced Himanshu to complete the yatra on foot rather than using a pony, and we both successfully did it. The sense of excitement and spirituality was overwhelming.
One of the most unforgettable moments of our yatra was when we got to meet the superstar Rajnikant at Kedarnath Temple.
For those who plan to visit Kedarnath, I recommend dropping your extra baggage at cloakrooms available at Gauri Kund and carrying important stuff with you in a small bag or backpack. This will make your journey easier and more comfortable.
