Another one of my favorite videos! Great intro!
Being originally from the Campbellsburg area growing up. I live just a few miles from the forestry. I'm always looking for new places to fish. I discovered this place back in the spring. I have fished 4 of the lakes with friends and family. I'm not sure what lake it is. But my fiancee and I drove way up this mountain and there is a small lake there. I drove down by Shlaam lake. It looks decent but it's pretty grown up for bank fishing. I have considered taking my small boat there. Have you done any good there?

Thank you. I have fished schlamm several times. I’ve caught a few. It is the deepest of the lakes. It’s covered in a lot of lily pads. The part that is open it’s deep. The lake is over 20 ft deep. I think franke is the better lake.

Live not far from Clark Forest. Fished Oak a few weeks ago and caught a few small bluegill. Saw Pine Lake but haven't fished it and drove past Schlamm and near Franke. We drove up the huge hill off Switchback and the road was blocked off but we could see a lake. Not sure which one that is--is it Wilcox, is this closed? We couldn't find Shaw or Bowen.

The one you were looking at was Wilcox. If you follow the road past the fire tower. You will come to a road junction at some radio towers. Turn right follow that road and you will come down by the dam at Wilcox. When you get to the bottom of the hill behind the dam you turn left to go to Bowen lake. But they have recently put a gate up because the gun range is back there. So you have to go the main office now to sign in to get to Bowen. You can park at Wilcox and walk back there I guess. Shaw lake can be tricky to find because the sign is missing at the parking area. If you are coming from henryville turn off hwy 31 onto brownstown read follow it out and not far after you cross into Scott county you will see a parking area with a gate. That is Shaw lake park there and the lake is straight back about a 1/4 of a mile. Shaw lake is 13 acres it is decent size. I hope this helps you out. Thanks for watching be blessed.

Wilcox is the one with the island in the middle.

The parking area for Shaw lake will be on your right side

Thank you for the reply and information. The one question I do have. Is there any creek fishing? I would think for that size of acreage and landmass there would be some creek fishing.

There isn’t any creeks that are good for fishing in the Clark state forest. If you go to the Harrison Crawford state forest between Corydon and Leavenworth the blue river runs right through the middle of it. There are several access points you can reach it. There are some off hwy 62. There is a real good access point off Roth rock mill road. The blue river is a good place to fish for smallmouth.

Good video and great music! Where is this lake and how do you get to it?

Take hwy 31 going north out of henryville. Go about a mile north turn left into Clark state forest. Follow the road back as soon as you cross over the interstate turn left. Then you will come to a junction you can go right to the picnic area at franke lake. If you are wanting to go to the boat ramp turn left that will take you down to the dam and the boat ramp. There are two signs old franke is the picnic area and new franke is the boat ramp area. It is the same lake. Hopefully this helps you.
