If feel a need to buy every guitar Danish Pete plays, but then I realize the skill won't be included
That is silly
I've always wanted a Les Paul. I received the Epiphone Les Paul Modern Faded Pelham Blue for my birthday. You guys sealed the deal when you played these. Thank you for the review!!! I love my new guitar!
How has it held up?
You guys are providing a huge service, especially in these time where guitarists cannot possibly see and play all the new guitars in local shops -- they just aren't there.... When we have guys we can trust (thanks Lee for putting these guys together), we can watch you guys and go into a possible purchase with confidence... Only thing is, I admit that every time you do a video, I immediately want that guitar... thanks, guys!
Your jams are getting better every time. I enjoy seeing you playing.
Glad your enjoying the Andertons jams! đ€
All sound the same to me.
@@winkle-pickerpookicker2255 Trumpton Riots :)
Lee just keeps getting better and better! It's inspiring! Thanks for being brave enough, and talented enough, to keep making these great videos!
Every video I watch, Leeâs solo skills become more and more incredible! Thank you for being a huge inspiration for me to learn the guitar!!
Looks like Lockdown has given the Captain some new guitar skills... Thanks for tuning in to another episode of Andertons TV! đ€
I disagree!!
Humbucker test should be "Since I've Been Loving You" or "Something"
These two guys really have a heavy 70s vibe going on. Great chemistry between them.
i LOVE the new headstock.
Great jam with the fender ones. Now another great jam with the pauls! Wicked dudes
Love the epiphone demos!!! Captain is getting soooo good! Keep up the great work guys! đ
Iâm from California....you guys have been a real fun part of getting back into playing...thanks...you sell more guitars than you know đ
Hey, thanks for commenting. It's always amazing to hear to hear that we have helped our viewers get back into playing! đ€
My wife and I saw the video and my captain was straight: take the blue one and that was it....thank you so much!! Merry Christmas and warm wishes for a better 2021 to all!!
Rather than super glue, might be better to use a little bit of thread locker. That stuff is designed to hold, but still come off with a bit of force applied.
I have used nail polish the wife was throwing out for years. Sometimes as glue and sometimes for custom markers and it really looks good with odd colors and custom.
Cool intro jam guys. Thanks for sharing.
I love my modern in caribbean blue. Took the pickguard out because the top looks so good. Havenât been able to put it down for two weeks now!
I played that carribean blue on Saturday and I fell in love with it! I got offered a deal on a traditional in a desert burst so opted for that instead.. I will be buying that carribean at some point though!
I got mine as soon as Sweetwater had them available. I chose the sparkling burgundy finish and I absolutely love it!
Would love a video with the new Epiphone LP Customs -- either a comparison with the Standards or their own video. Love what you guys have been doing, thank you for keeping us all sane stuck inside!
Another trick to fix the "falling knobs" is by putting a piece of toothpick (rounded toothpick made of wood) in the slot by "forcing" it a little bit. This will force the both metal sides keep in place.
Nice video as always!
Cherrs!
Epiphone â59 Les Paul... the star of NAMM. Still coming?
I spoke to a rep at Sweetwater and he said it's delayed to to COVID-19. So maybe not the summer, but the autumn.
Yep, still waiting for mine from Andertons. August is what they last told me :(
Just out of interest, is that one better? Iâve been eyeing one of these moderns for a while now and am about to buy one so would be keen to hear your thoughts
MĂĄtĂ© Csepeli Ideally, they should be better since the 1959 is supposed to have CTS pots, switchcraft parts, and burst buckers. I believe theyâll be rosewood finger boards too. They looked to be priced at $799 and ÂŁ699 before the links were taken down.
@@timmyjoe524 I know I'm a month late :P but I'm pretty sure most the new Epiphones have CTS pots
I still have my 2001 Epiphone Dot..nice to see Epip getting lots of love....for the money, these look great.
Awesome stuff guys!
Andertons videos are the best itâs helping me find cheap and good options for my dream guitar
aw man i dig that phase tone big time!
Well. I learned something today. Did not know that about tightening tone knobs. Mine has been falling off for weeks! Great playing as usual. Love it when you guys play Gibsonâs.
i watched this in june when it first came out. its now halfway through september and i still think about the hedge/fence description every day
Always great watching and listening to you guys. The hedges part was hysterical. Nice that you guys can have fun while providing us with these informative videos. By the way, I just purchased one of the Caffe Latte Fade Les Paul Moderns, and absolutely love it. Plays and sounds great and oh my, is it beautiful.
I bought one a week ago, at an EOFY special price, and it sounds and plays great through my Spark 40. You're right, the internet photos don't do it justice- the browny red and natural wood look are fantastic. I Couldn't be happier.
@@astrogerard2022 AwesomeâŠcongrats and enjoy it! đ
Hello guy's im from Tupelo, MS., just wanted to say how much i enjoy your show. Great picking and information has helped me decide to stzrt picking agAin. You guys sold me on the Epi LP modern. Just bougbt a Katano 100w 2Ă12. Keep up the good work.
How are you liking the 2x12 Katana amplifier? I played through the 1x12 version and liked it a lot but thought another 12" speaker would add a bit more low end punch? I can't believe how far solid state amps have come in the last 10 years. Years ago when I was gigging a lot no one would be caught dead using a solid state live, ever! They sound so much better now than they used to it's incredible!
Your jams are really improving.
Great review ! I like these Epi's more and more these days but still a bit twitchy in trusting the quality control and consistency in build given some of the issues I have had with past aquisitions.
Iâve bought three Epiphoneâs this last year including this one, every one of them are top notch Epiphone has really stepped it up, I own Gibsonâs and Fenders and these are damn nice
I love your jams
really nice video
Ordered the Bourbon Burst and what a beautiful build and finish(got lucky). The weight is so much lighter that was the best part. One area that surprised me was feedback a lot easier and more midrange. Was able to adjust that but was noticeable compared to all my other guitars. The pickguard is not installed and since don't use a pick most of the time may not install. It looks so much better to me without it. Amazing value and solid guitar. No shortage of sustain and the action was great out of the box? SG Modern had to completely take all the strings off and the bridge was stuck had to fix that. But afterwards killer action. But it weighs more for sure than the Modern LP. Will get ernie ball 9's on it and that should do it! Thanks Epiphone.
Man that intro jam was on đ„
Thanks for the detailed video! My friend was about to spend nearly $850 on a poplar Melody Maker, this video helped convince her the cheaper guitar actually was the better deal this time
Rockin' Dave also has a cool name, LOL, great video my Brit friends, you guys ROCK!!! God Save the Queen !!! Stay safe my friends, Rock On & God Bless!!!
"Like running your finger along a metal fence." "i don't think i've ever heard a guitar described like that". i think this is my favourite tangent of any Anderton's chit chat ever. ---- i'm not sure the Gibson rep will be overjoyed.
EPIC!!
Very nice video.
Wow! I love that Carribean theme! Stunning guitar...
Morning gents. Great intro on great looking guitars
Morning Christopher, thanks for tuning again this morning! Glad you enjoyed the video đ€
I like the burst in the middle better than at the bottom
EDIT: THE DAVIE OUTRO HAD ME CRYING

Slapped like so hard and fast
@Jerome Lenovo kids follow this too, what's your point? Lol
@Jerome Lenovo Dave is an exceptional bass player and an absolutely wonderful human being. Shame on you
The fence he is looking for is a "chain link." Nice description Danish Pete!
u can always tell when Pete dosnt like a guitar, and Lee try to fix it... so funny! Lots of love guys.....Always great!
Although I'm not that into Epiphone-branded Les Pauls, I have to admit that the guitar, the Captain uses, is really looking gorgeous.
Nice play! These are fun to play if you set up with an affordable multiple pedal in your room.
Hey Lee... Guitar not scared face..!! Great Tone Man.. !!
Those guitars are very good. I wish they still made the Les Paul I have. An Epiphone Elitist Les Paul standard Plus. The best wood, grover tuners, Gibson electronics and pickups. A real keeper.
Have the black one! Love it!
Danish P is looking very California Eagles esque, what a fantastico jam, as usual!!! Love to the boys in England!
Love the "top burst" effect of these... I would totally buy a Gibson if they adopted that finsih.
Yeah, yeah sell the guitars... still can't wait for you guys to be back in the same room! Jams were great!
I just love getting a notification saying thereâs a new andertons video!!!
Thank you for having the notification Bell on! đ€
Ben Robinson is my sonâs name. I had a short moment of confusion when I saw your post. He plays bass clarinet.
Epiphone are killing it this year!
You two are so fxxxinfg good, you guys and Rick Beato is the CZcams channels to listen to..
Knob falling off, widen the slot, nuts loose, and whip it out all in one paragraph. Golden! Lmao!
I like the neck joint on these. Never got along with the traditional neck joint on an LP.
Is it just me or do these guitars sound modern lol awesome playing guys now I want one.
Man...I really want one of these and a PRS SE LTD from the review from a few days ago
Stop! I have things I need to do today! I can't spend yet another day watching Andertons TV. Or, maybe I can..... You guys are addictive.
I was so close to getting the Epiphone modern les paul or the firebird. Then Covid hit and I was concerned about shipping times on products from China (obviously I seem to have been wrong on that) during the outbreak so I decided to go American with a PRD S2. No regrets but I will swing back around and get one of these Epis at some point.
You guys have to do a video on the new Epiphone Firebird !!
YES
That intro jam started in Rolling Stones territory and ended in Foo Fighters territory. Well done.
I read that as 'Gibson Les Paul Modern Talking" - an interesting signature model!
I have this guitar in the Caribbean Blue finish, it looks and feels amazing.
All I'm doing is replacing the pickups with some Duncans, then this guitar will be unstoppable.
I have the same one... Which Seymour Duncan's are you putting in or already have?
@@danjack-son4871 I put a Duncan Distortion in the bridge because it's a 'modern' model, so I thought a contemporary, high output pickup would just make sense to me. I like heavy music too.
And for the neck pickup, I put in a '59 because it's just so versatile and it's still a les paul so I can still have some of that classic tonal character to it. And it's the 4 conductor version so I can split it as well.
@@warlockdruid does the distortion pickup coil tap?
If not did you install a regular pot to replace the original pot?
And what about the treble bleed?
Thanks in advance for the information.
Cheers.
@@danjack-son4871 Yes, the distortion pickup can do it as well. Most pickups have 4 conductor cables so they can be able do that. But with the '59 model, Seymour Duncan make a traditional version and a 4 conductor version, so I had to make sure to get the 4 conductor version if I wanted to have the option of splitting the neck pickup as well.
I would say with 3 more months of lockdown time the Captain would be sweep picking! Great jam guys
Its past 3 months and no dice
Yes, have a "Can we do the song test without busting the bank!" Strat Sultans of Swing, SG Back in Black, Hendrix Along The Watchtower (recorded with a Tele, performed with a Strat), and so on ... and then in the end have Pete pull out a Telecaster and play them all.
Never had a gibby-style guitar appeal to me before but these are pretty cool! Nice little touches and features⊠honestly the only bad thing in the video was the coil split. Even as coil splits go that was pretty horrendous lol, maybe only split the coils if youâve upgraded to a humbucker that likes to be split? But still nice to have I guess.
Other than that what great guitars, especially for the money! Donât think Iâm quite sold yet, but defo interesting!
The Epi carribean LP reminds me of my seafoam fade 2019 Gibson LP HP2. If it'll just have no pickguard and chrome rings i'd get one for my daughter.
I love everything epiphone except the burst on the modern
I would love the same vid with the Epi studio
Hahah! that Davie 504 outro was gold.
âChain link fenceâ is what you were trying to say.
Personally I'm a big fan of hedge tones, nice to see them finally get a mention.
Don't spread the pot splines, they're almost guaranteed to break...just cut a small piece of masking tape, and place it over the top of the pot splines and drape it down the side. Add another if needed...now push the knob on. Foolproof! Plus they will come off if you need them to.
12:56 the metal fence....tinny is the word you are looking for maybe, Pete? :)
I vote for the AC/DC test. And alternatively a Mark Knopfler test.
Rather like Baldrick and "Sod off!" I tend to be called "Hey, you!" Best, Pete.
What
Forget the nail polish AND the superglue. Get yourself a nifty set of after-market speed knobs. They tend to fit better and make it possible to fully exploit the awesome CTS pots. Which, by the way, will require cleaning every couple of months. Especially the volume pot for the neck pickup. Trust me. You'll see when you suddenly have a Les Paul Junior.
The Captain looks tired in this, hope he's ok...and these new Epis are awesome.
FULL MILLENNIAL
Hi guys! Great review. New subscriber here! What amp are you guys going into? Just curious cause I just picked one of these up and going through a Blackstar HT Stage 100 the tones are not quite the same. This review helped ne pull the trigger. I own a Gibson LP Standard 60's model and love it but need another guitar for alt tuning on cover songs we do with the band and this helped decide cause I can't afford another $2900 now.
I'm just here for the jam.
the Captain : O M G đ€Łđ€Ł
Guy, when is Gibson and Epiphone coming out with the Left Handed Versions of their 2020 line up??
Wasn't sure what Les Paul to get until I saw that orange one
When you can work 'Tiger King' and 'Nickelback' into a guitar review, it's going to be a good day!
Should I buy a Fender player telecaster in butterscotch or epiphone Les Paul standard 50s in vintage next month? đ€
Switched the pickups out and I love my Epiphone Les Paul. Played Gibson, were they better instruments? In areas, yes. Were they a ÂŁ1000 or more better, nope. Was a simple fret job and a new nut away from perfect for me.
Mike J C Yep, itâs a shame Epiphone uses such shitty pickups. I try to stay open minded but every single video here you can hear those muddy, mid focused, bite lacking things.
Why would you need a fret job on a brand new guitar? Not for me...
@@benlogan430 loved the neck, loved the top, felt right, couple of minor coarse frets and one or two needing a polish was no hassle for me, 5 minutes.
Gibson finishes are way nicer in person than the epiphones and the pickups sound way better
You replaced the epiphone les Paul modern with the Gibson les Paul modern pickups?
Single coil anything gilmour or Clapton, humbucker anything page past the third album that he used a Gibson on.... and above the 15th fret.. lol
You can also split both pickups at the same time
"Naughty Humbucker"......if you ever make your own line of pickups that would be a good name for one.
I've ways wanted to capture that coveted hedge sound
Instinct says the 'humbucker test' should be a Black Sabbath or AC/DC song but they were both SG's? Sweet Child o' Mine maybe? Need to do 'Guess the colour' as a challenge video all it's own!
You should do a video series called "Guess the color name" !
Is there a noticeable difference between the 50âs and 60âs style inspired by line? As a lefty I wonât have the opportunity to put them in hand before purchasing new.
