I'm over here living a great life with a great mother, and I have moments when I'm not happy about my own life. I cannot imagine how I'd feel in her situation. It makes me so happy to see how cheerful she was despite the life she lived. I can tell she's going to do great things when she grows up.

By the way, parents who see their own children as "work" or "a heavy chore" have the same issues later with their children. If those children have milder character, they'll become adults and will keep suffering and feeling that they're not good and "worthy" enough they'll always feel as a burden.

I remember this story and tears just came down my face. How anyone can harm a small child that can't fight back has to be a monster.
