    I played Efren in 2017; the game was the best three out of five in nine ball. Of course he beat me and I enjoyed it. - - - If you are ever in the Huntsville Alabama area just stop by Steve's Cue and Grill - - - as you walk in you will see a picture of Efren and I on the left just outside the entrance of my cue repair shop - - - I'm there every week, if I'm not in my shop just walk up to the bar and look to your right - - - I am normally setting at the first table having coffee or unsweetened tea if I am not teaching someone how to shoot pool - - - if you shoot pool, since I own all the Diamond pool tables in the bar, the table time will be on me and I will let you break!

    His awesome career all without a jump cue and doing a bunch of jump shots. Him and Earl. Earl finally gave in and gave a jump cue a try. Imagine how much more dominant Efren could have been if he also did jump shots.

      When he was in his prime, Reyes still came into second to Parica more times than not! he was a one pocket player, likely in the top 5 of all time, along with John "Rags "Fitzpatrick, Harold Worst and Ronnie Allen.

      @@researcher3981 after some research of my own it seems reyes and jose parica were both considered best depending on who you ask. but if we look at the evidence of who had the total overall more successful career then the answer is obvious. most people in this comment section will have to google "parica" and then add additional search words to find what they are looking for...

    I watched him say in an interview about 20 yrs ago that he was past his prime by then. according to him his prime was between late 80's and early 90's when he was still sharp with no health issue at all.

      Tiger Woods would not win in a Minigolf competition.
      They are the goat in their games because they are so much better than anyone else playing their games. The goat on a british pool table would also get his ass kicked in other billard games...

    • @researcher3981
      @researcher3981 Před měsícem

      You don't even know who Lassiter was. Don Wills was the only man to ever bust him on his own table. He used to take three scratches playing straight pool on TV, then get a shot and run 165 and out, neither on of these two could beat Lassiter for their own money in the log run! And Efren could only beat Lassiter playing one pocket or billiards. Reyes comes in second playing Parica as well as Lassiter. And nobody ever beat Don Willis playing 9 ball period was known to have run 42 racks, laying odds on the money!

    • @JohnS-il1dr

      @@researcher3981Lassiter was playing on tables with 5 inch pockets. 22 year old Efren would smoke Lassiter and so would 2008 Shane.

    • @researcher3981
      @researcher3981 Před měsícem

      You have no idea what your talking about. We played on 41/2 pockets in the 50's & 60's when gambling. For your information if you didn't fairly consistently run 5-6 racks of 9 ball you didn't get into the elite class.
      Efren Reyes is a one pocket player, probably in the top five of all time along with "Rags" Fitzpatrick, Harold Worst and Ronnie Allen. He is in a group of 30-40 nine ball players at best. He's not close to a Champion in straight pool. Couldn't beat Taylor in Banks, couldn't beat Harold Worst in anything over the long haul (World Champion 3-Cushion 1954?-1966 when he died 1966 at age 37).
      Reyes is (1st) One Pocket player (2nd) Showman (3rd) Humble Clown
