I like how The Macabre Experiment connects all the creepypastas in a cool, terrifying way. It reminds me of when I myself tried to connect creepypastas to one another in cringe and funny ways when I was around 9-11 years. 2008 was also the year I was born and it's funny that's when Smile Dog was first born on the Internet. He's one of my favorite creepypastas ever.

I love listening to MrCreepyPasta and Clancypasta (who's originals are stellar) even now :) They help me get to sleep, hilariously enough. And there are so many great series stories out now too like Tales from the Gas Station, any story about Habitsville, and Lily Madwhip. I also love anything written by Sammy Scott like "What We Have Here" or "Peeping Tommy"
I love how with the Ben Drowned one a lot of the scary stuff is actually part of the game. Skull Kid levitating and the render of Link's statue for example
Not gonna lie, when Jeffrey Woods appeared, I got goosebumps. This is so nostalgic, and rewriting/linking all those beloved creepypastas is a thing that I will look forward to with great interest!
Honestly I think that Smiler (the entity appearing in every tape) is Ethan Macabre. They said he mysteriously disappeared after the police got involved and found out about the microbes. With his knowledge of human experimentation he probably used the microbes to turn himself into a macabre. And that macabre is Smiler. He did it as an escape and I think that in that form he can infect things a lot easier.
I love Ryan's reactions to this, plus here's what I think: The experiments were childern first, then adults, and finally animals. This is the main reason on why Smile Dog was experiment 22 and Ben was experiment 8. The creator could have started with childern and teens first (Hence Jeff being the first one and Ben still being under 10). The main reason I have for this however is that the creator fled after the source of the Macabres were discovered, and his experiments ended and possibly Smile Dog being the last one. Since there's many gaming and kid CreepyPasta, especially in video game stuff or the real stuff (Stuff that takes place in the real world, E.X Killers or stuff like that), the creator can still choose a bunch of other creepypasta as the other experiments (Lavender Town, Eyeless Jack, Sonic EXE). The 11-20 experiments were focused on adults, and there are many Creepypasta that are adults but still stuck in things like film, like a reimagined Candle Cove. The last 2 experiments could be Grinny the Cat and Smile Dog. The reason on why I think there's only two is because there's not a lot of JPEG mind controlling stuff like Smile Dog and the creator of the Macabre's could've been testing how far it could go (First video games, something you could manipulate but the Macabre could also manipulate, then cartoons, something you just watch and could still be manipulated by the Macabre, then finally a JPEG, just a image that wouldn't have that big control). The next thing could be that Ben's father could've been the creator or working with the creator of the Macabre's, and using his son as a experiment for it. However, he escaped but before he could tell anyone his father drowned him. After the first 10 tests, they looked to adults, and saw Curtis. I think it was Curtis's kid who's died (Would explain the line "He doesn't do any of his work anymore" and explain why he acted so depressed and angry). Curtis wanted a way to see his kid again, so he agreed to the experiment, and they used his soul in order to power up the Macabre of Sucide Mouse (Since Curtis may have killed himself to become one). Finally is Smile Dog, the last experiment. Ethan knew the Macabre's could be made through human souls (Such as Ben and Curtis) but he didn't know what would happen with a animal, which is why he took so long to animal experiments. When he did do it however, he was caught (Possibly by the fact Smile Dog worked different, using E-mail instead of being a cartridge like Ben or cartoon like Suicide Mouse). Finally, I think Jeff may have messed with his experiments, hence why we see the shadow man so much (The smile is very similar to Jeff, so it is possible they are one in the same). This is a little after thought, but I would like to think that Ethan, after the Macabre's escaped and knew they would very much like to kill him (Especially Jeff and Ben) he would try and make sure technology could mess up around him and he could become the Slender Man. This is just a after thought though, still cool. Sorry for my incenstiant rambling, but I do love your video Ryan! Keep up the good work! P.S: The reason on why I call Ethan "The Creator" and not Ethan is because I forgot Stuffy Studios showed his name halfway through writing this and I'm not editing all of this!
This is definitely an underrated series. I love how it explains these creepypastas as if they’re real and goes a little more in depth into what they do and their backstory. Great video Ryan

Awesome video as usual! Although, Ryan's reaction to the BEN Drowned video made me wonder- since this is the first time he's seen the BEN arg, maybe it'd be cool to see his reactions to (at least some) of the arg's actual videos! The Macabre Experiment's version leans more towards the original Creepypasta than the arg adaptation, true, but it's still cool! It's a /lot/ of videos, though. Most if not all of them are up under the channel Jadusable (spelling?), iirc. No pressure at all, of course, but it's just something I think would be cool and would give Ryan context to the Macabre Experiment's video!
i kinda just have this feeling that that creepy (yet cool) smiling dude is some sort of manifestation of the macabre guy who was doing all those experiments...! perhaps he just like, used those microbes on himself and transformed into that entity since the authorities couldn't find him after they derailed his experiments. that form allows him to continue to exist with the authorities being none the wiser, and he continued to wreak havoc on many different sources like the majora's mask cartridge and the old mickey tape, and maybe the image of smiling dog was just a normal dog until he infected it and turned it into the creepy image that we know of today...!
The dog part makes sense with the dog cartoon bc the dog cartoon is a normal dog then the smiling guy appears and then we don't see the rest but I believe the dog in the cartoon is the smiling dog
This is awesome showing a new generation all of these old creepypastas me and most likely other people have grew up with. I hope that studio keeps making more of these cause they are awesome

I used to watch those exact videos all the time. It inspires me to go back and watch all of those nostalgic videos again and finally get back into Creepypasta.
To shed some light, the frame which was used for Mickey blowing his brains was in the episode when he first spoke, around the time he did. Both hands are supposed to be down by his side, as his nose was pulled. He pulls his tail back to length which also fixes his nose.
I remember going through middle school and this stuff was just being created and it was such a huge part of my middle school “culture”. I never thought that any of these would come back to haunt me once again, but here we are. Shivers man.

i absolutely love this series, creepypastas and analog horror mix so well. they bring back memories where i couldnt sleep because a creepypasta scared me shitless and this turns it extra scary
This is absolutely terrifying and amazing the creepiness of the editing and the creepy style of the creepy pastas makes the perfect horror video this is just amazing
I was born in 2008 but I do know of a few of older creepypastas, and I find it super cool how this series brings back a bunch of old creepypastas in an analog horror form.
It seemed like Ryan hasn’t watched the original Ben Drowned series, which surprisingly has been continued and expanded upon with more detail recently! I’d love to see a reaction of that, it still manages to scare me to this day even with the story beginning back in 2011 or some time then
The Ben Drowned footage was, in fact, from the original writer and uploader, Jadusable. Ben Drowned was the one who made it further than Just a Creepypasta. It became an ARG of its own. The Moon Children, I believe it was called. Sadly, the creator couldn't handle all of the things that had been passing by him about his creation, that was far more than the criticismhe was getting for it. The cringe fanart. The fact that almost everyone wasn't just digging deeper. Everyone completely missing the point. Night Mind made a full video essay of what could be found, but we may sadly never know what real ending Jadusable had for us.
In the first video: I remember that specific cartoon of the dog and the rabbit. It ends with them both exhausted from staying up all night and they both are going to sleep and the rabbit asks the dog to blow out the candle but it's another stick of dynamite (a repeat gag from earlier).
Damn I didn't know smile dog was that old. I heard of it around 2014. Is Sadie the lady from the creepypasta that saw it on a floppy disk? I hope the person makes more creepypasta stuff like this.
These are all such classics, I remember when I was in elementary school my friends and I would tell each other about our “encounters” with Slenderman and Smile Dog and Grinny Cat and all that. I was born 2004 but I didn’t know about creepypastas until I was about 8 or 9
This is a really interesting concept, bringing back those old creepypastas to the present day and linking them all together!!! :D I so want to se what they can do with other creepypastas like Slenderman, Eyeless Jack, Sonic.EXE, Tails Doll, The Rake, Pinkie Pie and Zalgo. It could be so cool if the origins of the smiling entity is Zalgo itself!
The smiling dog is my biggest phobia because its so disturbing and creepy, the dogs smile and the teeth its just... too much for me. I hate disturbing images i always get sick when i see one
As a creepypasta fan, it was disturbing at first. I mean, it still is but after all the comics and memes, Smile Dog ain't really that scary for me anymore.
so glad you and baz got to react to stuffys video ryan! i have so many thanks to him for letting me voice the interviewer in the first experiment! i love all of your videos and have been watching you for years and this feels so surreal. i love the interaction that you had with my small parts. same with baz. never thought something like this would ever happen. huge shoutout to stuffy and all of his hard work.
The most creepy experience I've had was when I was a baby my mom said a glowing light was pulling me away and she brought me into her mom's room and ever since I've never been to my grandma's in fear of that entity
23:07 that's skull kid, the final boss of the legend of zelda: majora's mask, it is part of the game, from what I've seen so far in the video, other than the screams, the statue and the glitched sprites on the "dawn of a new day" screen, everything seems normal
Like how it was strung together. Kept attention through the videos. Link at the end totally found the original backrooms when he glitched through that gravestone. Thanks for the video Ryan....helping me relax on my day off
Seeing Ryan react to the final video makes me long for a full Ben Drowned reaction, especially since much of the footage was taken from the original uploads.
"This feels too real this actually feels like a game." Ryan I love you, but you need to go look up some gameplay of majora's mask. The reason it feel so real is because it is, infact, real. A lot of that stuff was actual game sequences that were just edited together in a surreal fasion. That entire game is just one big sureal roadtrip tbh
Fun fact: Macabre actually means "death" in french, and in the micky mouse one (1929) when the reaper showed itself,in the 1929 film, the reaper was a skeleton. (That triggered my rage bar)
Ayeee new Ryan vid lez go. The begining was so funny and the videos were so creppy. Also you should watch the Mandella Catalouge, they just got volume 2 and ita still really crepoy. Keep up the great work :)
for the sucide mouse one im pretty sure, but not entirely sure, that the mouse is a represntation of the mom, and she killed herself with the revolver, that or it shows whats to come, driving her insane. The call from the son is actually stating, "oh my god- oh my god! I dont- I- I Dad Shes- sh-shes laying on the ground dead. dad? (i think his father said something on the phone )with a revolver, dad i- i think she killed herself--" thats what i could make out, though he seemed calm about it, like he was on talking on his phone to his father, and his father didnt seem to be freaking out. the son did seem nervous, confused, worried, but trying to stay calm, it also sounded like wind or breaking out was happening so a window couldve been open. For the Ben Drowned video it swaps letters duh- but im too lazy to translate that too
*Y'know this reminds of that old Disney Halloween attraction where basically a buncha Disney favourites have gone rogue and everyone's out to kill the visitors. **_This is exactly like that Disney attraction_*
The Ben Drowned one, as we all know is based on Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask, and the floating entity, is Skull Kid, Which is in the game although he shouldn't set you on fire. oh yea btw the statue is in the game
I like how The Macabre Experiment connects all the creepypastas in a cool, terrifying way. It might be the demon or the devil as (ETHAN MACABRE) by chance because he appears in alot of bad things in this series

I was born 2009 but it a little about all of them except the smiling dog that is all new for me
i feel bad for anyone named "Sadie" who watched that first video.
This analog horror series deserves more attention i love how it connects these old creepypastas into modern day analog horror.
It seemed like Ryan hasn’t watched the original Ben Drowned series, which surprisingly has been continued and expanded upon with more detail recently! I’d love to see a reaction of that, it still manages to scare me to this day even with the story beginning back in 2011 or some time then
Man this already brings back memories, even for being born a year before Smile Dog, that stuff is still super nostalgic for me
Nice and funny video as ever Ryan. Keep up the good work!
Hey man...we actually know the ending. We knew the ending for months.
Jadusable ended the story in his channel. You can search it, it has been completed one year. He even made two joke videos
It was ended in October 2020
So heres a theory. That smiling thing might be the soul of Ethan Macabre. Ideas?
I think its ethan after he turned himself into a macabre with the microbes so he wouldn’t be caught by the police
dang liking those intros-very creative! spooky creepypastas for sure but cool!🙏🏻💙💙
Whenever I’m sad, your videos will always make me feel better. Thank you for being you.
This is a great series, brings me back to my reddit days of exploring the creepypasta. Looking forward to seeing how this develops
ryan literally shivering in his bed after recording this video, give him some love guys
Ryan always makes me smile within 5 seconds of the video, his content is amazing. Freaking love it
Yes
I love how you used the RE7 "save spot" background music at the end. It really sets the mood for a horror themed video
In the first video: I remember that specific cartoon of the dog and the rabbit. It ends with them both exhausted from staying up all night and they both are going to sleep and the rabbit asks the dog to blow out the candle but it's another stick of dynamite (a repeat gag from earlier).
I love these reactions so much keep up the great work Ryan!
i love his videos they're always so funny and all the edits make it so much better
@YeaMan "Your channel has been banned due to spamming the same comment on every one of Ryan's videos."
Noted: never watch this at night and alone even if ryans there its still scary af
Ikr I was losing sleep working that the smiling guy would take me over
Oh no
Glad it has not happened yet. I think of other things to not lose sleep.
Ryan: put yo headphones in
Me: “puts other airpod in”
It always amazes me on how ppl can find new ways to expand the horror genre, like HOW DO YOU NOT MAKE THE SAME MONSTER OVER AND OVER AGAIN
“My nose itches” that’s more horrifying than any horror series could ever be
Some of these videos where interesting to see and kinda cool how it has some back story ngl.
Bro this series is scaring the living daylight out of me. Geese
The real horror is to think 2008 was 14 yrs ago. *internally screaming*
Damn I didn't know smile dog was that old. I heard of it around 2014. Is Sadie the lady from the creepypasta that saw it on a floppy disk? I hope the person makes more creepypasta stuff like this.
I think sadie is one of watts freinds
It's crasy that smile dog is already 15 years old. I was 7 when this image was released
I so want to se what they can do with other creepypastas like Slenderman, Eyeless Jack, Sonic.EXE, Tails Doll, The Rake, Pinkie Pie and Zalgo.
@@ghastlygavin you deserve respect
@@ghastlygavin same
I love your content it’s so good plz keep it up
I’m really disappointed there isn’t more fanart and stuff like that this series honestly deserves it
Fun fact: The mickey mouse one is actually a real Disney cartoon but he edited it to make it scary.
Love you're vids!!!❤
Lol Ryans intros always have me smiling
I’m so glad to see someone doing this with Creepypastas. I hope that this somehow resparks the Love in Creepy pastas
so glad you and baz got to react to stuffys video ryan! i have so many thanks to him for letting me voice the interviewer in the first experiment! i love all of your videos and have been watching you for years and this feels so surreal. i love the interaction that you had with my small parts. same with baz. never thought something like this would ever happen. huge shoutout to stuffy and all of his hard work.
You did amazing with the voice acting
The most creepy experience I've had was when I was a baby my mom said a glowing light was pulling me away and she brought me into her mom's room and ever since I've never been to my grandma's in fear of that entity
23:07 that's skull kid, the final boss of the legend of zelda: majora's mask, it is part of the game, from what I've seen so far in the video, other than the screams, the statue and the glitched sprites on the "dawn of a new day" screen, everything seems normal
I don't scare easily but this series genuinely freaked me out, so I'm glad to watch this with you Ryan XD
Holy smokes, good thing i sleep in the same room as my roomate 🤣🤣🤣
Creepypastas being brought to life by amazing creators!
First the BACKROOMS and now this :O
Amazing! :D
These bring back memories of when I would watch a bunch of creepy pasta videos when I was little. Nostalgic TwT
Hey Ryan my dog had to be put down a few days ago but your videos make me feel better and keep up the good work
Dang, sorry for your dog 😕
"This feels too real this actually feels like a game."
Ryan I love you, but you need to go look up some gameplay of majora's mask. The reason it feel so real is because it is, infact, real. A lot of that stuff was actual game sequences that were just edited together in a surreal fasion.
That entire game is just one big sureal roadtrip tbh
I have to put it out there, but-- Ryan, I had no idea you could do stop motion. Like, that intro ,that's so neeeaaat!! 🤩🤩👏
i have my headphones set to max in a dark room and the ambiance sound just gives me chills
Fun fact: Macabre actually means "death" in french, and in the micky mouse one (1929) when the reaper showed itself,in the 1929 film, the reaper was a skeleton. (That triggered my rage bar)
The fact I'm one year older than smile dog is keeps me up at night
Also keep the good work up Ryan!
Ayeee new Ryan vid lez go. The begining was so funny and the videos were so creppy. Also you should watch the Mandella Catalouge, they just got volume 2 and ita still really crepoy. Keep up the great work :)
i love these reaction to spooky stuff on youtube videos that ryan makes
for the sucide mouse one im pretty sure, but not entirely sure, that the mouse is a represntation of the mom, and she killed herself with the revolver, that or it shows whats to come, driving her insane.
For the Ben Drowned video it swaps letters duh- but im too lazy to translate that too
What if the suited figure was the Slenderman listening to the kid?
*Y'know this reminds of that old Disney Halloween attraction where basically a buncha Disney favourites have gone rogue and everyone's out to kill the visitors. **_This is exactly like that Disney attraction_*
The Ben Drowned one, as we all know is based on Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask, and the floating entity, is Skull Kid, Which is in the game although he shouldn't set you on fire. oh yea btw the statue is in the game
Yeah, that whole game ITSELF is practically a creepypasta in itself
I feel like Ryan just finds out cool new editing tricks and uses them for his next intro 😂
This year truly is the horror era. Like the mandela catalogue, the backrooms, and now this, I have never been this terrified since so long
Ik but don't forget the walten files! That one creeper me out for a while
for anyone curious the cartoon at 5:40 is "Doggone tired" by Tex Avery
i had headphones on, and during the interview, i heard a bark. so maybe smile (or smilge lol”) was watching.
