Very interesting to see the difference between the USA and (mainland) Europe! Pretty much all trailers are straight-load trailers here. Some people choose (small) trucks/lorreys which have fixed space for horses in the back. Our trailers also seem quite a bit smaller and are lighter. My own trailer for 1 horse is 1200 pounds. A 2 horse trailer here (with storage for tack/saddle) would be around 2000 pounds.

Gooseneck trailer is more maneuverable, easier to couple to the truck because you can see the connection points compared to a RECEIVER HITCH ( like your Tahoe) where the trailer tongue disappears from view as you back in closer to couple to it. Tahoes are cool and all, but, well aaa....youll see. You briefly touch on trailer brakes (electric type I hope). I hope you had a quality Electric Brake Control box installed in your Chevy. Hitch an empty trailer and drive about and tune the Electric Brake Control (learn it). I hope Tucker loves his new RV.

Years ago I read an article on this subject in a friend's horse magazine. The only thing I can remember about it is you should have a factory installed tow package on your vehicle. Something about fewer welds and weak points when it's done in factory. Thanks for the video, now I have the rest of the information I need 😀

Completely unrelated but I have a question about horse training. I’m purchasing my first horse after doing lessons for about 8 years. It’s an 8 year old QH gelding from the SPCA but he isn’t saddle broke ( he’s only halter broke but the seller said he’s had a saddle on him once). And I was wondering if I should train him to ride without a saddle first or start with a saddle and then go bareback.

    • @jenmiller5303

I don't know much about horses but I would say train him or her without a saddle so your horse could get used to weight on their back

@@jenmiller5303 the largest i've seen is a 6-horse trailer. anything larger than that might just be unreasonable and it would be better to have two trucks and two trailers. however, even during shows and stuff it's highly unlikely you'd fill the trailers!
