    The latest Ford Fiesta builds on the talents of its predecessor, while all but eliminating its weaknesses. With a range of advanced three-cylinder petrol engines and two efficient diesels, the Fiesta is more economical than ever, while greater rear-seat room makes it a lot more family-friendly. Perhaps best of all, its fantastic sense of fun remains. Build quality has improved drastically, inside and out, and the latest safety technology is available - even if some comes at extra cost. For now, the Fiesta has regained the supermini crown.

    • @benrgrogan
      @benrgrogan Před 7 lety +9

      What are you on about? You surely know there is more than one use of the word scale? In this situation, a scale is something used to add a context for size. In the same way a human, may be used in a diagram as a scale, to show how big a building or a dinosaur would be in comparison to it. Or how one nanometre would be used as a scale to give an idea of the size of bacteria under a microscope. Surely this is not a new concept to you?

      @@ohemaao195 We've had it for almost two years now and we love it. It's a great value for money! We haven't had any major issues with it, apart from 2 (!) breaks and subsequent changes of the front glass due to stones, which may or may not be relevant to winter life in Sweden. The CarPlay, driver assistance, cruise control etc that other brands charge a lot to include, Ford had it included in a regular model. The ecoboost is remarkable - very low consumption, especially in open road and then if you turn it off you suddenly get a car that feels very powerful for its size. That being said, beware of its size. It's average to small, so if you're looking for a big car, look again. Other than that, Can't recommend it enough!

    As a driving instructor I've had a Zetec 1.0 ecoboost 100bhp for a year now. 30k miles. I've had Fiestas since 2012. The model before this one was as close to perfection to drive as any small car could hope to be. This model is worse to drive. The 6 speed gearbox has very strange ratios so at 30-36mph in 4th there is a terrible rumble in the cabin so you have to high rev it in 3rd before going into 4th around 40mph. The 6th gear adds very little, don't understand why it's not 2000 revs or less at 70mph. But my main grip is the seats! They are TERRIBLE!!!! The wing mirrors are tiny. They changed the switch for full beam so it's very easy to flick on full beam by accident when indicating. The build quality and plastics are much better and the touch screen Sync system is very good. But again I must mention the seats.There is no point making a class leading handling car if after 2 hours you get out feeling like rigamortis has set in.

    The previous Fiesta looked fresh when it entered the fray in the dark ages, even if the cabin was the stuff migraine's are made of with it's array of knobs, buttons and switches. The new cabin is so much better but when compared to most other new cars it's still too fussy for me around the dash. No doubting thought the quality looks classy.
    The new car styling looks dated. I'm amazed Ford haven't appeared to realise that wedge shape is long gone and has been dropped by all other rivals.
    Lots of other cars are now really nice to drive and the motoring press's obsession with singling out Ford as the drivers car is beginning to get a bit boring. Most drivers won't even notice especially on UK roads where the brakes are probably more important than the accelerator ;)

    It's not so small anymore. And it also costs a lot. It's only around 10% cheaper than the Focus when you match the spec.

    • @ast5515
      @ast5515 Před 7 lety

      The base price might be the same and maybe even the higher trims cost the same, but the key is the options list. If you add stuff like keyless entry, cruise control, front heated seats, power windows at back (all of which are optional even on the top spec in my country), you end up with a price that seriously begs the question of why this is any better than a Focus.
      And I'm not even being picky. I didn't configure a sunroof and auto parking with front and rear sensors and camera and blind spot monitoring. It just costs this much.

    Is it just me that thinks its lost some of its looks? I personally don't think the big touch screen plonked onto the dash is "elegant" at all. Ok its still better than the Corsa (fugly) and Fabia (deathly dull). But somehow less fun than the old car.

      I wont agree with that, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I love this new design and the interior is a place where most will spend time and thats where the improvements have gone and thats what this Fiesta more special than any other boring VW siblings ,Renault siblings etc

      Looks like an old hyundai from the back, it's boring, if I was in the market for a small hatchback I would actually buy something else, and I'm a Ford Man.

      Lets see whether that will happen,
      I am sure it wont, maybe in a drag race the Ibiza and new Polo will take the lead, but not on all other counts that matters

    love the new fiesta but it lacks the amazing character as the old one for me now the polo has totaly been ruined the ibiza would be perfect but its only available as a 3 door which is a deal breaker so id have this or a corsa
